~Chapter 19~

Minutes passed, the two of them got ready and put on masks.

Jenny's hand on the door knob, Aelita counted to 3 and the two of them rushed off.

"The smog is too thick, I can't see!" Jenny complained while trying to wave the thick smoke away to see.

"This way!" Aelita said and Jenny followed behind her.

The two ran aimlessly around the school grounds, like two dark figures among the smoke.

"Obviously we have been here before!" Jenny shouted.

"What? Are you serious?" Aelita said in disbelief.

She wiped her sweat away and faced Jenny.

"Yeah, i've seen these trees." Jenny pointed to some trees on her right, "I have photographic memory."

Aelita groaned.

"Should we crawl?" Jenny suggested.

"Crawl?"

"Yeah. Crawl, maybe we can see clearer and we might touch the manhole while we're finding our way."

Aelita agreed and they both got on all fours and crawled, spreading their hands out, in hopes to find the manhole.

Jenny found it and they both jumped in and made their way to the factory.

"Thank god the gas hasn't made it's way here yet." Aelita said as she pulled Jenny up.

The both of them got in the elevator and hit the button. The doors opened, revealing two masked people, Jeremy and Yumi.

"Hey." Yumi greeted.

"You know, you guys can take off your masks now. We're pretty sealed off from the outside world. The gas couldn't even come here." Jenny said as she tossed hers and Aelita's masks on the floor.

The two looked at each other and took off theirs and tossed it on the floor.

"So, what's wrong?" Aelita asked.

"There's an activated tower, at the forest sector." Jeremy replied, jumping onto his chair.

"Got it." Aelita replied and the three girls went back into the elevator and went down to the scanners.

"Have you heard from Ulrich and Odd?" Aelita asked Yumi.

Yumi shook her head, implying that she didn't know.

"Guess they haven't find their way here yet. They should hurry, the gas is becoming some sort of smog that blocks everything. Aelita and I almost couldn't make our way here." Jenny said.

The three got into their respective scanners.

"Virtualization." Jeremy announced while pressing 'Enter'.

"Odd! Hurry up!" Ulrich shouted as the two ran out from their room.

"I can't, this gas... I'm feeling faint." Odd started to wobble, he could barely even stand.

"I told you to wear your mask! Where-"

"I can't breathe! Help, Ulrich!"

"Hold on!" Ulrich piggybacked Odd and he dashed through the thick smog, in search for the way to the factory.

In a matter of minutes, he reached the factory with a unconscious Odd.

He nudged Odd a little, "Hey Odd! Wake up!"

No response.

"Do I really need to carry you all the way down there?" Ulrich rolled his eyes and somehow managed to get both him and Odd into the factory.

Jeremy saw Odd and gave the what-happened-to-this-fella? face.

"Oh he... I think he breathed in too much of the gas and just-well fainted?" Ulrich said as he placed Odd down onto the floor.

"Okay, i'll watch him. Hurry up and go, the girls need your help. XANA seemed to have increased the mob army size." Jeremy pushed his glasses up his nose.

Ulrich nodded and headed his way to the scanners.

"Girls, help is coming." Jeremy announced through his mike.

Relief came over the girls as the mobs approached them in great speed.

Jenny managed to grow some trees out of nowhere to create a defense wall against her and the mobs.

"Run! I'll stall them." Jenny said to Yumi and Aelita.

They nodded and ran for the activated tower.

"Hey Aelita, don't you think Jenny's weird? I don't mean that in a bad way, she's just having all this weird relations to Lyoko. Don't you find that a least bit off-setting?" Yumi asked.

"I do. I was starting to think I was the only one. Jenny's strange link towards Lyoko is a bit weird, as you've said. It's crazy how she's just able to do the things l can do."

"Yeah! Why is she able to do all of this? Deactivating towers, bring us into the core of Lyoko, I mean how can she even do that? That's bonkers."

"I'm actually doing a small research on that, don't tell Jeremy. It's a secret for now. I really think she might be-"

Just then 5 mobs were standing right in front of those two, causing them to duck behind trees for cover.

"We'll talk later!" Yumi said.

She threw her fans across, only managing to hit one of the mob.

"This is going to take a while." Aelita grunted and rushed out.
