Giant birds that, are similar to griffins, were given to a warrior named Drudwas ap Tryffin from his fairy wife. Adar Llwch Gwin are siad to understand human speech and are to obey any command that was given to them by their master. On one fateful day, Drudwas was about to fight the hero Arthur so he commanded them to kill the first man to enter the arena. Arthur was delayed so the birds turned on Drudwas, ripping him to pieces because Drudwas was the first person to enter.

Serves Drudwas right. Cheating is not the way to go.
