*Catherine's P.O.V.*

After school I took the short road, not forgetting to buy myself a little something to eat. Getting in the house, the familiar scent of cinnamon danced inside my nostrils. I loved being at home. It reminds me of my parents, the safety I felt in their arms. I always thanked whatever was up there watching me screw up my life, for at least keeping this a home and not turning it into a house.

If you know what I mean.

After reaching the living room, I spared no moment before allowing my body to sink into our beige, soft sofa.

Don't fall asleep, I mentally screamed to myself. I was supposed to be waiting for the girl I had to babysit. Her mum had told me that she would bring her at my house around five o'clock.

Hayden had taken my brothers to McDonald's -their manly lodge, as they call it- and they would come home around five too.

The doorbell rang, making me sigh of annoyance. I am never taking a minute for myself. I mean, why should I?

I got up and run to the door. Lie, but you know what I mean. I quickly stepped closer and after glancing at my reflection on the small mirror next to the front door, I turned the knob and opened the door ajar.

"Hello sweetheart," a woman said with a big smile. "You must be Catherine," she held out her hand for me to shake.

She was really beautiful, I must admit. Even though you could tell she was quite older than you would expect a woman with a four-year-old kid, her blue eyes had an unusual spark in them and her long platinum blonde hair actually made her look a lot younger.

"Yes," I nodded. "And I guess you are Mrs. Ross?" I asked earning a similar nod from her. Peeking behind her, I saw a little girl hiding her face in her mum's coat. "And who's that little chipmunk over there?" I asked playfully trying to grab her attention.

The girl shrieked and put her hands over her eyes. Mrs. Ross chuckled and brought her forward to meet me.

"Hey," I said in a sing-song voice.

The little girl uncovered her eyes and looked at me straight in the eyes. She was the cutest little girl I had ever seen in my life. With her blonde hair cut into a bob and her big blue eyes, she looked like a fragile porcelain doll.

"I really like your hair," I admitted and glanced back at her mother.

"I will pay you when I come to pick her up, okay? Around nine, is that fine with you?" her mum asked me and whispered something to her daughter.

"Of course, Mrs..."

Oh, gosh, I forgot her name!

"My name is Ellie Ross, but you can call me Ellie," she laughed genuinely. "Thank you very much for babysitting my angel."

"It's my pleasure," I told her, and reached my hand out for the little girl to take.

Her wrist watch made a beeping noise making her jump. "That's my cue to get going. Thanks again, bye," she waved frantically at her daughter and walked away.

I looked down on my hand and my two fingers that were trapped in the little girl's hand. Her small figure was driving me insane.

I was really excited to babysit her, get to know her... Of course I had babysat many times before, but this time it felt as if it was the first one. Or maybe a special one.

I stepped farther inside, bringing the little girl along with me and closed the door behind us.

While heading to the kitchen, she squeezed my fingers three times. "What's your name?" she asked me shyly, a pinch of red crawling up her face.

"My name is Catherine," I told her in a small voice as if any loud voice would break her. "But," I tapped my chin. "You can call me Cat, like all my friends do," I smiled making her cheeks blush again. Her blue eyes were sparkling with happiness and her excitement could be noticeable from miles away. "What's your name?"

"My name is Elsa!" she answered quickly with a wide grin on her cute little face. And that's when a brilliant idea came to my mind.

"Hmm..." I squinted my eyes. "Do you want to watch Frozen and eat cup cakes?" I suggested hoping she was still naive enough to enjoy the fact that her name will always be connected to that movie.

Don't get me wrong, I love this movie. It's my third favourite, right after Pitch Perfect and Mean Girls. I have watched it at least twenty times and I know most of the script word by word.

She nodded and giggled saying that it was her favourite movie too.

The front door dramatically opened all of a sudden and my boys came in the house laughing and playfully smacking each other.

Max and Jake loved Hayden like an older brother. They looked up to him so much that went to him for every 'boys only' issue they had. Good for me, that's for sure. Not that my advice on girls would do them any good either. I can't even advise myself on boys.

Elsa and I ended up watching our movie in my bedroom, as the boys needed the living room to play Xbox. We cuddled with a couple of teddies while crying over the frozen figure of Anna and munched happily on our cupcakes once the happily ever after was announced.

After four hours of playing together, reading books and drawing on my Maths notebook, we were waiting for Mrs. Ellie to come and pick Elsa up.

"Mummy, I want Cat to babysit me again!" Elsa practically jumped on her mother once seeing her.

Mrs. Ellie chuckled and glanced at me apologetically. "Only if Catherine agrees, honey."

As if I would mind.

"I would love to babysit my bestie again," I smiled. "And I can pick her up from school next time if you want to," I said truthfully.

"Yay! Bestie power!" Elsa exclaimed, giving me a bear hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you so much," her mother continued trying to calm Elsa down.

"It's fine, really. I would love to help you. See you next time," I waved my hand.

"Bye, sweetie," "Bye, bestie!" Mrs. Ellie and Elsa said simultaneously and left.

Walking back inside the house, I sat on the couch next to Hayden. He put his arm around my shoulders and hugged me close to him.

"Respect," he muttered jokingly.

"Thanks for helping me today," I sighed. "If you weren't here I would be ten times more tired than I am now," I let my eyelids make their grand falling.

"Hey, you know I am always here," he pinched my cheek, making me open my eyes and smile.

"Do you want to stay with us tonight?" I asked him, putting my soar feet on the coffee table. Don't let the twins know. "I know it's not right, since we rejected Lucy's offer, but I-" I took a deep breath.

"What?" he furrowed his eyebrows.

"I kind of need you here," I finished my sentence, scratching the back of my head. "We can order some pizza if you want?"

"Hey, look at me," he turned my head by my chin to make him look at him. "Don't ever be afraid to ask me for help. Or anything for that matter," he argued. "Now go change into your pyjamas and I'll order some pizza. We can hang out in my room afterwards."

Aaand... Yes, he has his own room in my house. Forgot to mention that, didn't I?

"Listen," Hayden pushed me back down as I was about to stand up. "We can skip school tomorrow. I called your boss and asked her to give you another day off so you can relax a bit. You have been working all summer, Cat," he said worried. "You need some time for yourself."

"Yeah..." I let out a heavy sigh.

"Nice," he smiled. "Come to my room when you are ready," he wiggled his eyebrows playfully, completely changing the mood.

I'm so happy to have him as my best friend.
