It rains heavily, the raindrops hitting the ground like bullets.

Several months later, the two androids are back on a new mission. Connor and Y/n stood outside Jimmy's Bar.

Connor rolls the coins over his knuckles and tosses it between his fingers, back and forth. He gives himself a small smile at his little trick, then he looks over to his partner, wondering if she found his trick cool. She, however, was already walking towards Jimmy's bar.

He pockets his coin again and fixes his tie, walking after her, trying to ignore his disappointment.

[NO ANDROIDS ALLOWED]

The two androids ignore the sign. Connor opens the door for her as she steps inside, him following close behind her.

As they walk through the small bar, people look at them with disdain.

Connor scans the people's faces and then finds the one he was looking for. The two then approach the Lieutenant.

"Lieutenant Anderson. My name is Connor. This is Y/n. We're the androids sent by CyberLife." Connor introduces.

"We looked for you at the station, but nobody knew where you were. They said you were probably having a drink nearby. We were lucky to find you at the fifth bar." Connor smiles.

The lieutenant doesn't spare the two a glance. "What do you want?"

Connor speaks. "You were assigned a case early this evening. A homicide, involving a CyberLife android. In accordance with procedure, the company has allocated two specialized models to assist investigators." He informs.

The lieutenant raises his head slightly, holding a drink in his hand. "Well, I don't need any assistance. Especially not from a plastic asshole and his plastic girlfriend. So just be good pair of robots and get the fuck out of here." He says, drinking alcohol.

Connor frowns and decided his approach. Y/n quietly watches the two.

"Listen, I think you should stop drinking and come with us. It'll make life easier for all of us." Connor says.

Anderson just takes another drink.

Connor frowns again. "I'm sorry, Lieutenant, but I must insist. My instructions stipulate that I have to accompany you. And my partner has to accompany me. So we must take you with us."

Anderson sighs. "You know where you can stick your instructions?" Letting out a small laugh.

Connor and Y/n both look at the lieutenant confused. "No. Where?" Connor asks.

Anderson gives him a look. "Never mind." He drops back to the counter.

Connor and Y/n look at each other.

[offer him a drink], Y/n suggests through their connection.

Connor nods and turns back to the lieutenant. "You know what? I'll buy you one for the road. What do you say?"

Anderson stays quiet, but he doesn't say no.

Connor takes it as a yes and turns to the bar counter. "Bartender, the same again, please." He says and puts cash on the counter.

Anderson lifts his head. "See that, Jim? Wonders of technology... Make it a double." He says.
The bartender refills his drink.

Anderson downs the drink in one go and sighs. "Did you say homicide?"

Connor and Y/n turn back to each other and smirk.

-

The rain was falling harder than before. Anderson drives the car, regardless of Y/n and Connor's advice. They approach the scene and Anderson turns to Connor, who's sitting in the passenger seat.

"You two wait here. Won't be long." He says and exits the car.

Connor replies. "Whatever you say, Lieutenant."

Anderson rolls his eyes. "Fucking-A, whatever I say..." he leaves the car.

Y/n looks at Connor in question. Connor looks at her. "My orders are conflicting, selecting priority." He says, he then open the car door and leaves the car. As Y/n was about to open her own door, Connor opens it and offers her a hand. She places her hand in his and is lead out of the car. Connor closes the door behind her.

Letting go of her hand, the two walk after the Lieutenant.

News reporters were standing outside the crime scene trying to get answers. Anderson walks past them and approaches the house. The two androids following close behind. However they are stopped.

A cop holds his hand out in front of them. "Androids are not permitted beyond this point."

Anderson turns towards them and sigh. "They're with me." The cop nods and let the two pass by.

Anderson look at them. "What part of 'stay in the car' didn't you understand?" He asks.

Connor replies. "Your order contradicted my instructions, Lieutenant." He says.

Anderson then looks towards Y/n. "And you?" He asks. Y/n stays quiet.

"Just like how I'm with you. She's with me." Connor replies for her.

Anderson nods. "You two don't talk, you don't touch anything and stay outta my way, got it?" He instructs.

"Got it." Connor immediately replies.

Another man approaches them. "We were starting to think you weren't gonna show..." he tells the Lieutenant.

Anderson nods. "Yeah that was the plan until this plastic asshole and his plastic girlfriend found me." He says, gesturing slightly to the two androids.

The man chuckles lowly. "So... got yourself not one but two androids, huh?"

Anderson nods slightly, following after the man. "It's kind of like a two in one package deal... so, just tell me what happened." Connor and Y/n followed after them inside the house.

The man explains the situation. "We had a call around eight from the landlord. The tenant hadn't paid his rent for a few months, so he thought he'd drop by, see what was going on... that's when he found the body."

The four of them step inside.

"Jesus, that smell!"

"Was even worse before we opened the windows."

"The victim's name's Carlos Ortiz. He has a record for theft and aggravated assault. According to the neighbors, he was kind of a loner... stayed inside most of the time, they hardly ever saw him." The man explained.

Anderson speaks. "Uh, the state he's in... wasn't worth calling everybody out in the middle of the night.... Could've waited til morning."

The other man speaks again. "I'd say he's been there for a good three weeks. We'll know more when the coroner gets here. There's a kitchen knife over here, probably the murder weapon."

"Any sign of a break-in?"

"Nope... the landlord said the front door was locked from the inside, all the windows were boarded up. The killer must've gone out the back way."

"What do we know about his android?"

"Not much. The neighbors confirmed he had one, but it wasn't here when we arrived. I gotta get some air... make yourself at home. I'll be outside if you need me."

As soon as the two were done talking, Connor and Y/n got to work.

They split up, Y/n went to the kitchen, while Connor checked the living room.

He approached a table with some drugs. Red Ice.

VICTIM USED DRUGS.

He then approached the murder weapon. Sliding his fingers across the blade and bringing them to his mouth to sample it.

Anderson sees this and cringes. "Err, Jesus! What the hell are you doing?" he asks, disgusted.

"I'm analyzing the blood." Connor replies. "I can check samples in real time. I'm sorry, I should've warned you."

Anderson sighs. "Is she also going to do that? Can she do that shit too?" Connor nods.

Anderson sighs. "And what's the deal, did they forget her voice box or something?" Connor shakes his head. "CyberLife set me as the priority speaker between the two of us."

Anderson cringes slightly and walks away. "Talk about internal misogyny... and don't put anymore evidence in your mouth, got it?"

"Got it." Connor confirmed.

Anderson sighs. "Fucking hell I can't believe this shit..."

Connor finished analyzing the blood and kneels back down to the knife, scanning it.

NO FINGERPRINTS, ANDROID INVOLVEMENT?

Connor stands up and walks away and through the hallway, he approached the back door and opens it. Scanning the footprints. Anderson approaches him. "Door was locked from the inside. Killer must've gone out this way." He says.

Connor disagrees. "There are no footprints, apart from officer Collin's size 10 shoes." He informs.

Anderson speaks. "Well this happened weeks ago, tracks could've faded."

Connor disagrees again. "No, this type of soil would've retained a trace. Nobody's been out here for a long time." He says, looking at the Lieutenant before turning and walking back inside.

Y/n walks out of the kitchen and turns to Connor, transferring the new information to him.

SIGNS OF A STRUGGLE.

MURDER WEAPON FROM KITCHEN.

DEVIANT WAS ATTACKED: EMOTIONAL SHOCK.

DEVIANT TOOK A KNIFE.

Connor smiles. "Well done Y/n." She nods. Connor and Y/n walk back into the living room with the new information to check the body.

Connor kneels and start analyzing, Y/n kneels beside him.

THEY CAME FROM THE KITCHEN.

VICTIM WAS STABBED.

VICTIM FELL HERE.

Connor stands up, offering a hand to Y/n as he helps her up next to him.

"He was stabbed, 28 times." Connor says. Anderson nods. "Yeah. Seems like the killer really had it in for him." Connor and Y/n frown at this.

Connor looks up at the writing above the body.

I AM ALIVE

He analyzes it.

REGULAR LETTERS. FONT: CYBERLIFE SANS.

Y/n starts walking in search of more evidence and Connor follows behind her. They approach the bathroom.

They looked around when Y/n noticed the shower curtain closed. She walked over to the shower and opened the curtains. The shower was covered in the letters 'RA9'.

OBSESSIVE WRITING.

Connor stands behind her, scanning the shower and the statue on the floor.

RELIGIOUS OFFERING?

He frowns slightly. Y/n turns around and walk past him, again he follows behind her as she walks to the living room.

Connor approaches Lieutenant Anderson. "Lieutenant. I think we've figured out what happened." He says. Anderson nods. "Oh yeah? Shoot. I'm all ears." He says.

Connor then says his theory. "It all started in the kitchen." The three of them enter the kitchen.

"There are obvious signs of a struggle. Question is, what exactly happened here..." Anderson wonders.

Connor continues. "I think the victim attacked the android with a bat."

Anderson nods. "That lines up with the evidence... go on."

Connor continues. "The android stabbed the victim."

Anderson speaks. "So the android was trying to defend itself, right? Okay, and then what happened?"

Connor continues. "The victim fled to the living room." The three approach the living room, standing in front of the body.

Anderson speaks. "And he tried to get away from the android... all right, that makes sense." He nodded.

Connor then finishes his theory. "The android then murdered the victim with the knife." Y/n nods in confirmation beside him, as he seemed to get it all summed up.

Anderson nods. "Okay. Your theory's not totally ridiculous." He says. "But it doesn't tell us where the android went."

Connor turned to Y/n. Y/n spoke to him through their connection.

Anderson looked at the two weirdly for a second. "Hello?"

Connor then looks away from Y/n. "It was damaged by the bat and lost thirium." He says.

Anderson looks confused. "Lost what?"

Connor repeats. "Thirium. You call it blue blood. It's the fluid that powers androids biocomponents. It evaporates after a few hours and becomes invisible to the naked eye." He explains.

Anderson seems to catch on and speaks with a smirk. "Oh... but I bet you two can still see it, can't you?"

Connor looks to Y/n and they both nod. "Correct." He says.

Connor and Y/n then scan their surroundings as they find the trail of thirium. The two follow it into the hallway.
Connor follows the trail into the bathroom while Y/n scans the hallway.

A LADDER WAS USED.

As Connor walks out of the bathroom, she transfers the information to him. The two then look up to the ceiling and see a hatch.

They scan it and see a handprint of thirium.

TRACES LEAD TO THE ATTIC.

Connor looks to Y/n and leans down, folding his hands in front of him. Y/n places her foot in his hands as he lifts her slightly higher than him. She holds his shoulder to stabilize herself while she opens the hatch.

Anderson looks towards them. "Hey what are you two doing?" He asks.

Connor replies. "I won't be able to get up there without touching the evidence in the kitchen. So I'm sending her up instead." He lifts Y/n higher as she places her hands on the floor of the attic.

Y/n then pulls herself up. She looks down at Connor who looks up at her, waiting patiently. Turning away from him, she slowly makes her way through the attic.

She walks carefully when suddenly something moves in front of her. Her head snaps in its direction. She follows after it and comes face to face with the deviant.

He looks at her with fear in his eyes. His owners blood was covering him from head to toe. His LED flashing red.

Y/n quietly looks at him. His lips quiver as he start speaking.

"I was just defending myself..."

She blankly looks at him, in contrast to his fearful and confused expression that she wasn't aware androids could make.

"He was gonna kill me..." he whispers.

She tilts her head slightly. He pleads, "I'm begging you... don't tell them..."

She stays quiet for a few seconds.

But then Connor's voice brings her back to her mission. "Y/n? Report!"

The deviant look at her with fear, pleading her to not tell him.

Then, she speaks. "The deviant is here, Connor!"
