me and kat were walking home together talking to each other she mentioned she had an idea for her poem

"what are you gonna write it about?" i asked

"nature, it's basic but i like nature what about you?" she asked

"ehh i don't know but i have time to think"

"what about vic" she said smirking

"what? why would i write it about him it's not like i wanna hold his hand, or see his smile or play with his hair" i said kinda dreamily

"that right there is why you should make one about him" kat said in a 'duh' tone

"that was just an example" i said rolling my eyes playfully

"yeah right, play with his hair" she said mocking my tone

we laughed and giggled on our way home, kat went upstairs while i went into my dad's study to talk to him

"hey dad?" i asked sitting down

"what's up pumpkin?" he said looking from his book

"how do i look nice, like date nice?" i asked fumbling with my hands

"date nice, does this have to do with that boy that keeps coming by?" he asked

"no, just date nice is the best kind of nice it's for our Halloween party" i said twirling my hair

"your mother did that when she lied, it's okay to like someone hun especially for a girl your age" he said chuckling a little

"i don't like him... i think" i said sighing

"well however you feel about him i think it's nice you want to look good but we can't afford it right now im sorry but im sure you can sew something or you have something in your bag"

"well thanks dad i appreciate it" i said before leaving the study and going upstairs to do my homework
