"Don't be a dick. everyone at the office calls him that. they have to. he's the head of hygiene" she said glaring at Phil for being rude.
he just looked at her and smiled. the receptionist interrupted their intense stare off.
"so i have you in a two bedroom suite on the 12th floor." she looked on her computer and waited for a response from any of them.
"is this hotel pager friendly" Alan asked.
"actually we were wondering if you had any villas" Phil interrupted.
the receptionist nodded and mentioned that they were one; awesome and two; 4200$. But it was Caesers palace in vegas so what do you expect.
"we'll take it" he smiled. she started to put it in the system.
"Phil we're not even gonna be in the room, that's unnecessary" Doug spoke up trying to once again be the voice of reason. When you have Phil as a best friend and olivia as a sister, it's an essential trait to be some kind of middle ground for Doug.
Alan saw an opportunity. "if we share beds i'm bunking with her." he gestured towards olivia and flipped his hair. "you cool with that?"
"what-
"no! guys cmon! what are we 12? we're not sharing beds. it's doug's night" Phil interjected starting to get frustrated. After noticing Alan staring too long, Phil placed his hand on Olivia's lower back and guided her in front of him.
"Lisa i apologize" he looked around at everyone. "we'll split it. okay?" they all agreed to split it eventually and Lisa gave them their room key for the top floor.
Anyone could see that Stu was already worried so Olivia rubbed his back in hopes to comfort him. She knew what a toll Melissa took on him and how much better he would feel if he wasn't with her. She didn't feel like it was her place to interject even though it was her best friend. Because of that, she appreciated when Phil spoke up about her being a bitch and all.
They pushed the button of their floor and Phil leaned down to Olivia. "vegas baby" was all he said as the elevator started to ascend.
When they opened the door to their suite they were absolutely shocked. It had gorgeous white walls with neon lights placed intricately around the rooms. furniture covered with expensive brown leather and two enormous flatscreen tvs.
The five of them looked around in awe excited for the hours to come. "Is this all one suite?" Doug said still astonished at its size.
"Fuck yeah dude this is awesome" olivia walked over to admire the view from the balcony. she was stunned. they were so high up.
"alright ladies lets get dressed i wanna leave in half an hour" Phil directed as he walked up behind her.
"enjoying the view?" she asked looking out at the city. "hell yeah" he said when he looked down at her. they laughed and he patted her stomach and walked to his room.
Olivia put her stuff on the couch assuming that that's where she was staying. It was only one night so she didn't really mind. As she unzipped her suitcase Alan walked out and pointed at her.
"Cmon roomie. our bunk is this way"
"Oh i think i'm just gonna sleep on the couch"
Doug walked out of his room dress in a pink button up with black dress pants. He had slicked his hair back and wore a gold chain around his neck.
"how the fuck are yo-
"Alan she's not gonna bunk with you bud, she'll stay in my room." he put his hands in his pockets as he waited for Alan to take the hint and leave. Doug walked over and picked up her suitcase bringing it to their room.
"Doug how am i supposed to get laid if i'm sharing a room with my brother?" he cringed at her words and plopped the suitcase down on the bed.
"That's gross Liv, no one's getting laid tonight we're just here to party."
"what kind of boring ass parties did you go to in highschool?"
"the same ones as you dipshit except i wasn't a whore about it." she smacked his arm, faking offense. She unfolded the silk, black minidress that tracy had packed her.
Pairing it with some black tie-up heels, she headed to the bathroom to change. She took her hair out of her bun and it cascaded down her back in voluminous curls. she brushed out her hair and threw some make up on.
There was no sign of doug in the room when she walked out so she looked around. hearing voices from one of the other rooms olivia opened the door to find Stu talking to his wife on the phone, in his underwear.
Phil was sitting on the bed and looked elated when she walked through the door. He wore a tight black button down with the top few buttons undone and charcoal dress pants. they matched almost instinctively. The dress complimented her curves very well and he was certainly not complaining. He tapped the spot next to him so she would come sit down.
"yeah we just met the proprietor. his name? uh Caesar PalaΔe." Stu lied walking around. "yeah like the salad. okay, listen i gotta go cause we are about to hit this wine tasting." phil and liv gave each other a look. "okay i love you. bye"
"i'm not even gonna say anything it's so embarrassing" phil complained.
"well you know what's not embarrassing?" Stu said rhetorically. he pulled out a small velvet box with a ring. olivias jaw dropped and she stuck out her hand to admire it.
"i know this is not from dentist money" she said in awe.
"no it's uh, my grandmothers. she made it all the way through the holocaust with this thing"
"damn stu"
"so what do you think" he wondered.
Phil didn't like this at all. "it's a big fucking mistake is what i think." liv smacked him in the arm. "no i'm serious Stu, you can't do this to yourself. she beats you."
He cringed at the thought of it. "Liv just smacked you." he said trying to defend himself. "and besides, that was two times and i was out of line." olivia's blood boiled at the thought of Melissa harming her best friend. She stood up taking the ring from him.
"don't say that Stu. She has no right to do that to you" she closed the box and but it on a table next to her, now frustrated that phil brought it up.
"he's in denial" Phil said rolling his eyes. "she fucked a sailor too if this-
"will you shut up Phil, that's his fiancΓ©" liv steamed.
"who's side are you on!?" he shrugged and got up. olivia crossed her arms and looked at the little box.
Stu wanted to stand up for himself but was glad his friends were strong willed enough to help him out in times like this. being close with Stu was hard when he let people walk all over him.
"She's a strong woman and i respect that" he tried to defend her but couldn't really come up with any reason as to why.
"guys let's just forget about it we-
"you ready to let the dogs out?" Alan questioned standing in the doorway. He wore a small graphic t-shirt tucked into white jeans with a thick belt and a purse. he waited for them to agree.
"what"
"let the dogs out. you know. woof. woof." he flipped his hair and put his hand on his hip.
Phil was annoyed already. "alright let's just go." he waited at the door as they walked out and held out his hand for olivia. she jogged over and took it as they left.
as they got in the elevator, Phil pushed the button discreetly.
"Up?" doug wondered what he was doing.
"yeah, it's gonna be fun" Phil grinned. He was excited. Liv could tell. He rolled up his sleeves and hit the 'close door' button.
They went up and the doors opened. They had gone to the roof after climbing a few stairs and Phil plopped a cement brick down to keep them from getting stuck out there.
"guys this is clearly marked. we are not supposed to be here." Stu said already worried. They all looked around and Olivia fixed her dress due to the wind. "for 4 thousand dollars i think we can do whatever we want hun." she said while Phil agreed.
As they admired the view, the clinking of glass could be heard from behind them. Alan walked over to them with a large bottle in hand and some shot glasses. "a little JΓ€egermeister anyone?" they laughed and olivia grabbed one eagerly.
"yeah buddy" Doug said grabbing one too.
Olivia cleared her throat and spoke in a british accent. "indubitably, my brotha and i have-
"i'd like to say something" Alan said awkwardly. he pulled out a piece of paper and looked at everyone individually. "hello. how bout that ride in huh? i guess that's why they call it sin city." he laughed. "you guys might not know this, but i consider myself a loner. like a lone wolf. in the night." he winked at olivia.
"how is this-
"then one day when my sister brought doug and and olivia home, my wolf pack grew by two. cause at first it was just me, and then the other two joined in along with me." he pointed at the siblings.
Olivia started to tune out his words. She looked down to adjust her footing and stepped back a little bumping into Phil who was apparently standing directly behind her. He paid no mind to it. she could feel his thick muscles behind her and smelled his cologne.
Their height difference was exactly how you would want it to be. he had plenty of room to see over her head so she wasn't in his way at all. He rubbed her back and she just sunk into his touch.
They were the type of friends that had never drunkenly slept together cause the only time they actually thought about doing it was when they were sober. They never did anything about it in fear of losing friendships but even their friends knew there was something there. they didn't mind it at all.
Doug was always aware that there were feelings on both sides and he even rooted for them to get together. He's the only one that really knows that they stay friends just to keep the spark there. They thought that if they dated then it would go away and there wouldn't be as much adventure.
She relaxed and felt safe as she grinned up at him. he looked down at her with his beautiful eyes and looked as if he was about to say something when Alan pulled out a knife and cut his own hand.
Olivia slapped her hand against her mouth, stunned. Phil pushed her behind him and reached his hand out to Alan in order to calm him down.
"Blood brothers. looking for strippers and cocaine." livia laughed.
Stu was scared out of his mind. "Alan we are not going to cut ourselves! give me the knife! damn it!" he carefully grabbed it from him and folded it as he stepped back.
Doug was concerned. "you alright man, you need a doctor?"
Alan shook his head. "no i'm fine don't worry." he picked up his glass again signaling that he was okay and everyone followed suit.
they raised their glasses.
"to a night the five of us will never forget"
