sorry that last one was shorter but this one should be good!
"Not at the table carlos" Alan said while mimicking hand motions from the baby.
Phil rolled his eyes. "pull yourself together man."
"i looked everywhere." Stu said sitting down at the table with them. They were outside at the pool area hoping the fresh air would help clear their heads. "Gym, casino, front desk, he's obviously not here. no one has seen him."
olivia just sat with her head in her hands. one because her head was pounding like there was no fucking tomorrow and two because her brother was no where to be found and they needed to leave like right now for his wedding tomorrow.
She new this was part of the reason tracy wanted her to go was cause maybe she could prevent something like this from happening but for some reason olivia couldn't put her finger on it. something wasn't right about this situation.
"he's fine, he's a grown man. seriously stu you gotta calm down." phil was pretty confident that everyone was gonna be fine. or at least that's what everyone else thought. he was the type of man that would stress internally but not show it one bit cause he thought it would make everyone feel better. he reached over and rubbed olivia's back in order to comfort her.
he didn't really know where they stood now which is another reason he hesitated but nonetheless, he cares for her and wanted her to feel safe and loved.
phil put his hands together and grabbed a pen and a napkin. "alright let's just track this thing." he took a deep breath. "what's the last thing we remember doing?"
Stu threw up next to his seat and olivia got up instantly to his side and grabbed a water bottle from the table next to them. "oh bud" she said sympathetically rubbing his shoulder. Liv put it in front of him and opened it as she took a seat next to him.
"well after the roof we had dinner at the Palm. right?" Alan continued playing with the baby.
Phil watched her intently, admiring how careful she was with people. He could watch her for hours and she wouldn't even have to do anything because he would still be entertained by the way her heart beats. There may be a hard outer shell to the way she lives but there's nothing she wouldn't do for the people around her.
He shook his head from his daze. "and then we played craps at hard rock and i think doug was there." he nodded his head.
"yeah that sounds right." Alan agreed.
Olivia got up again and walked to reception asking for another bag of ice. She grabbed one and came back to Stu after wrapping it in a towel.
She handed to him and took her spot next to him again. she continued to rub his back and look for a reaction to see how he felt. "guys i don't even remember going to dinner." she cared for Stu a lot. she considered him her best friend and she hates seeing him suffer like this.
she felt for him, she really did, but it was hard watching people walk all over him his whole life. she understood what it was like to be a pushover and was very empathetic towards him because of that. he had always been there for her and she would hate to miss an opportunity to do the same.
"what the fuck. i don't think i've ever been this hungover." Phil said rubbing his face. the fact that everyone was tired and trying to figure what happened and where doug was and why they couldn't remember anything, on top of being extremely hungover was really not an enjoyable experience.
"after the hard rock i blacked out. it was like emptiness." Alan chuckled. normally after everything Alan says, everyone makes the same face that just sorta says 'the fuck did you just say?'.
"what is this." he pulled out a small white trinket from his pocket.
"holy shit. that is my tooth." Stu said reaching for it after he bolted up. Phil perked up realizing something. "no this is good everybody check their pockets."
everyone looked around at what they had with them. Stu pulled out a piece of paper. "i have an atm receipt from 11:05 for EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS. I am so fucked." he put his head in his hands in worry.
"damn stu." olivia said reaching for the receipt. Phil noticed something on her arm. A wristband.
"what the fuck is that" he said grabbing her hand to examine it. "is that from the hospital?"
Stu's face dropped immediately and started to lift her other arm and check for any injuries. "Liv are you okay?" he asked frantically. "yeah i'm fine. this is good guys now we have somewhere to start." she looked around the table, her eyes landing on Phil's wrist. "Phil you have one too."
"fuck." they made eye contact worryingly hoping they didn't do anything too harmful.
"i have a valet ticket from caesar's from 5:15 am" Alan said going through his pockets.
"oh shit we drove last night!?" Olivia said, now panicking. she knew as much as phil that if they panicked it was over so they would have to stay calm and just keep asking questions.
Alan laughed. "haha. drunk driving. classic"
she rolled her eyes and stood up patting stu on the back. "cmon we need to figure out what happened." she looked at Phil like a mom would look at her husband when they need to rally the kids up to go to school. so more of a 'motherly, we need to go' type thing.
they walked to valet to get their car.
-
"uh phil, i don't think doug would want us to take the mercedes." Alan said knowing his dad loves that car more than he loves him.
Liv held the baby while Alan said he needed to fix his belt. "well doug's not fucking here is he?" she asked.
"hey dont swear in front of the child."
"he's okay don't worry" she looked at him and smiled. "aren't y'a." she giggled and made small funny noises at him to keep him happy. he was super cute so it wasn't like she was grossed out by him. she swirled him around in her arms making him laugh, earning yet another smile from her.
Olivia never really saw herself having kids cause she didn't feel qualified to take care of one but most times she got the chance she would watch over it for as long as it needed.
As she played around with the baby Phil watched her in awe. There was just something about the way that she endlessly cared about other people. He wanted to take care of her and he was glad she felt comfortable with him doing so.
She always made everyone else feel safe with the way she presented herself and the things she said so he always had this compulsive need to do the same for her. He wanted to protect her at all costs even if it put something of his at risk. she would do the same for anybody else.
"some asshole threw his bed out the window last night." she heard a stranger say to Phil. "some guys just can't handle Vegas."
Stu looked up at the mattress that impailed a statue on the roof. He looked at Olivia in a panic.
Just then a cop car pulled up and the Valet handed the keys to Phil. Stu took a deep breath and put his hands on his head "oh G-
"hey. Stu. look at me." Liv nodded at Alan and handed the baby back to him. "we are gonna be fine. okay? listen." she had to get his attention multiple times because he was so overwhelmed. "doug is okay, we are okay, we are safe no one is hurt-
"Yeah! that you know of!! what if doug is dead-"
"stuart price!" She looked at him painfully "you listen to me right now. don't fucking say that. we. are. fine. everything is fine." she rubbed his shoulder and noticed how heavy he was breathing and pulled him in for a hug. he didn't hug her at first but he started to relax after a second. "i promise." Olivia noticed Phil behind him and he gave her an sympathetic smile.
she pulled away from the hug with her hands still on his arms. "we need to go okay." Stu nodded. he trusted her with everything he had so if she said it was going to be fine then it was going to be fine. Stu felt like he under appreciated her and felt bad about it but he noticed that he was starting to feel bad about a lot of things lately so he swallowed his thoughts and got in the car.
-
"look i already told you. you came in with a mild concussion and some bruised ribs. no big deal." the doctor said examining and old man.
Olivia walked in the room with the baby after changing him. She handed it to Alan. "yeah what about her?" Phil questioned pointing at Liv.
"oh" he glanced at her.
"oh? what does 'oh' mean? don't say oh?" Stu started getting defensive and he stepped towards the doctor.
The doctor continued to examine the gentleman. "no no it was just some internal bleeding."
"What!?" Phil look disturbed. "Where?"
"Her abdomen. it looked like some sort of blunt force trauma. you were hurting pretty bad last night."
"did you prescribe me anything" she asked.
"no, we can't legally prescribe anything while you're intoxicated but i told you to come back in the morning. i didn't mean all of you." he looked at Phil.
the doctor finished up with his patient and washed his hands. Phil was still concerned and frankly he was starting to get pissed at this doctor. "did any of us say anything about how that might have happened?"
The doc started getting annoyed at all the questions and Phil could tell so he slipped him a 100$.
"walk with me." it almost seemed like he was just leading them on and just seeing how long it would take until one of them punched him in the face. he started to pull out some paperwork's from behind the reception. they all leaned on the desk impatiently.
"you mind if i take a look at that, i'm actually a doctor." Stu said reaching for the clipboard. The doctor glared.
"Stu cmon, not now hun" olivia said just trying to focus on what happened.
"okay here we go. Phil Wenneck, minor-
"no, no, not mine, hers." phil spat.
the doctor looked super pissed now and phil gave him a 20$ and he looked for her paperwork. "okay Olivia Marie Billings, minor concussion, BFT in abdomen with some damaged tissue and-"
"wait i had surgery?!" she asked.
"just four stitches." he walked out from behind the desk and reached for her shirt. he lifted it up lightly tracing the scar on her stomach with his thumb. she flinched making Phil take a step forward. she was shocked she didn't notice it this morning when she changed. she felt a little stupid for it. "we couldn't give you an anesthetic either because of what was already in your system but you took it like a champ." he winked at her and put her shirt back down, patting her stomach.
Phil glared at the doctor, cursing him for having the audacity to touch her. Stu stepped in again still curious. "you said and."
"what?"
"you didn't finish your sentence about what was going on with her."
"oh." he took a breathe and looked at them. "y'all seemed to have a large amount of Ruphylin in your system. both of you." he pointed at them.
"we must have all had it and that's why we can't remember." she slammed her hand on the desk. "fuck!"
"what's ruphylin" alan asked.
"date-rape drug"
"date-rape drug" Liv and the doctor said at the same time.
Phil and Stu still looked confused. "roofies." she said again. Liv put her head in her hands. This has happened to her before but the first time she didn't get out of it so easily.
"wait you're saying we both were raped?" Phil questioned now sounding very concerned for her well being. He rushed behind her and looked at the doctor worryingly putting his hand on her lower back.
"no there were no signs of rape." he pointed at olivia. "she had some bruising on her lips but from what i heard, y'all were going at it pretty hard so i didn't worry about it."
Olivia's hand slapped her mouth and she started to blush feeling embarrassed. Phil grinned seeing she was better but he was just ready to get out of the company of this doctor. He looked at him.
"She's fine don't worry."
"and you're sure we didn't mention anything about where we were going last night?" Alan asked wanting to feel helpful.
"Best little chapel. you were talking about a wedding." perfect. that was all they needed. Phil grabbed Livs hand, thanked the doctor and practically skipped out of there.
they were ready to figure out where the fuck doug was.
