Kate's p.o.v

I feel like Cassie has been trying to avoid me all day, I mean every time I see her she just walks away to Diana or something. I'm am going to sneak up on her and talk to her because every time she sees me, she'll just pretend she's on a call or go to Diana. I hope she hasn't changed over the summer. I hope she's still that kind person that she always is.

(Kate sneaks up to Cassie)

Kate: Hey stranger.

Cassie: Hey Kate, um I gotta go to class.

Kate: But class doesn't start until 10 and it's 9:54, and I really need to talk to you about something.

Cassie: Okay, Juniors 3:00?

Kate: Sure 

Cassie: Okay I'll see you there I guess.

Kate: Okay, bye Cassie!

( At Serenity's locker)

Cora: Hey Serenity, I have English next, and I just wanted to ask what class do you have next.

Serenity: Oh. hey Cora. I actually have English next too. And I have Ms. Morrison.

Cora: Oh, I do too, I heard she's really nice.

Serenity: She is. Sometimes. 

Cora: Oh there's the bell, can you take me Ms. Morrison's class, I forgot where it was.

Serenity: Yeah, of course, just follow me.

10:12 A.M. (At english)

Ms. Morrison: Hey, who's a visual learner?

(Class is silent).

Ms. Morrison: That's fine, I don't really care. For your book report assignment. I want each of you to do a new book cover for "To Kill a Mocking Bird" and we'll be doing this in pairs.

(Diana moves from sitting beside Braydon to sitting beside Cora).

Eli: Ms. Morrison, when you said pairs, do you mean like fruit pears?

Ms. Morrison: No Eli, I was talking about partners, and nobody is doing their homework with fruit. Um, how about Jenna & Spencer, Logan & Braydon, Mason, and Eli, Kate & Cassie, Kingston & Dylan, Samara & Marlee, Diana & Cora.

Diana: You have to come to my mansion, my mom isn't home most of the time because she's a flight attendant, so obviously she has to fly like every day. We can do whatever we want.

Cora: Um, okay.

Ms. Morrison: Serenity and- oh wait, um, anyone willing to work with Serenity?

Serenity: Um, maybe I should be put in a group with Diana and Cora. I'm Cora's new student buddy after all.

Diana: Ms. Morrison. I really believe that working in pairs should be done in pairs. I really just want to make sure that I do the assignment right because I care so much about your class. And It would mean so much to me If I could work with Cora AND ONLY CORA.

Ms. Morrison: Um, that's stupid, um Serenity, you can work with Cora and Diana.

2:59 P.M. ( At Juniors Coffee Shop)

(Cassie walks in and Kate is already sitting at the table with an Iced Coffee).

Kate: Hey Cassie

Cassie: What do you want Kate, we have to work on our project not talk about whatever.

Kate: I know but we agreed to talk at 3:00.

Cassie: Okay, what's up

Kate: I've been noticing that you've been distant from me lately. I feel like you don't want to be my friend.

Cassie: Kate. It's just that ever since I was your brother's GF at 8th grade I- I mean I wasn't dat-

Kate: WAIT YOU ARE SAM'S GF. WHY DIDN'T YOU HAVE THE RIGHT MIND TO TELL ME?

Cassie: To be honest, I didn't even know what was going on, Sam and I have been kinda distant lately and we might break up, but I don't want that and I don't know if Sam wants that. Speaking of Sam, where is he, It's like I haven't seen him since like 400 BC.

Kate: Haha, very funny Cassie. I didn't drag you here just to talk about your relationship with my brother, I dragged you here to talk about our friendship. It's like tearing apart, and you are- I mean were my first REAL best friend and now, you act like you don't even know me. Why is that?

Cassie: Kate, I'm sorry, but if Diana and Morgan see me hang out with you other than me being your partner for English, they'll not wanna hang out with me anymore. They think you're a freak.

Kate: And you do to?

Cassie: No Kate, I just don't want to be Embar-

Kate: I DOESN'T MATTER ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK ABOUT OUR FRIENDSHIP. IF YOU ARE A TRUE FRIEND, THEN HOW ABOUT YOU STAND UP FOR YOURSELF AND JUST TELL DIANA THAT I'M NOT A FREAK, BECAUSE THAT REALLY HURT ME. 

Cassie: OK, be quiet, Junior is looking at you like your some total maniac.

Kate: Cassie, I don't care if Junior is looking at me like I'm stupid. I just want our friendship to be back again. I really want us to be best friends.

Cassie: Kate, I'm sorry, but I can't. You're just way too- never mind.

Kate: I'm just way too what?

Cassie: I'm sorry I gotta go.

Kate: WAIT CASSIE

(Cassie walks out the door and Serenity comes in)

Serenity: Hey, Kate right? I think you're in my English class.

Kate: Yeah. 

Serenity: Is everything okay? I saw Cassie storming out, she bumped into me.

Kate: If you must know, Cassie doesn't want to be my friend anymore.

Serenity: Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. Diana, Morgan, And Cassie have been rude to me since 6th grade. I really don't know why. 

Kate: Oh, I'm so sorry about that. Do you want me to get you a coffee?

Serenity: Oh no, um thanks though. So why do you think Cassie doesn't want to be your friend anymore?

Kate: She said that Diana and Morgan will not hang out with her if she hangs out with me other than being my partner for English. 

Serenity: Oh well I'm sorry, but don't you have other friends than Cassie. What about that Jenna girl?

Kate: Yeah, Jenna and I are friends, but not like close close close friends. I think she's also hanging out with Diana. I think I'm not sure

Serenity: So Cassie was your best friend.

Kate: (sniffs) yeah, and I miss her. I really dunno what made her think Diana was good.

Serenity: Well, maybe you should talk to Jenna about it, and give Cassie some time, maybe she'll come back to her senses and be your friend again.

Kate: Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks for the advice. I really needed it.

Serenity: Of course, Oh shoot I have to go to Diana's house for our project. I'll talk to you later maybe?

Kate: Yeah, of course, I'll see you later maybe tomorrow.

Serenity: Bye

3:30 P.M. (at Diana's House)

(Serenity walks in the door)

(Diana and Cora are in the kitchen eating salads)

Serenity: Hey guys. Wow, Diana, your house looks so nice.

Cora: Hey Serenity! I know, tell me about it.

Diana: You could've just knocked on the door, not just walk in like you're my best friend.

Cora: But didn't I just walk in?

Serenity: yeah, and you texted me to just walk in, and the door was unlocked. 

Diana: Whatever Serenity, just because you're tik tok famous doesn't mean you are queen.

Serenity: I never said I was, and I am not tik tok famous

Cora: Wait how many followers do you have?

Serenity: I have 698k followers.

Diana: That's not even a lot. And how do you get so many followers in just one day?

Serenity: Easy, It's called keeping up with your account, and since you think that you're the queen of tik tok, how many followers do you have?

Diana: um, 7k, for now, but-but I-I'll get more followers and beat you by the end of this semester.

Serenity: Whatever Diana.

Diana: HEY, DO NOT SAY WHATEVER TO ME.

Cora: Guys can you just stop fighting and let's work.

Diana: Ok

3:45 P.M. (At Jenna's House)

Jenna: So Spencer, I tried something new for the cover. Here it is.

Spencer: This is great. I didn't know you were such a good artist.

Jenna's p.o.v

Spencer is being so nice today, but I have a feeling that this is the moment he'll ask me about lying yesterday. 

Jenna: I'm mostly into fashion design.

Spencer: Cool, um can I ask you something?

Jenna: Sure.

Spencer: Why did you lie about the book from the other day?

Jenna: It sounds so stupid but being popular means keeping up with certain images.

Spencer: Being a book nerd isn't one of them?

Jenna: I really did love 1984 though.

Spencer: Right? It's so good, I'm reading this book called Tales of the remote scene, it's a really good book. It talks about-

Jenna: DON'T SPOIL IT.

Spencer: Yeah, sure. Um, can we go inside, it's really really windy?

Jenna: Yeah.

4:00 P.M.

(Cora looks at Serenity's drawing for the book cover)

Cora: Serenity, that looks amazing.

Diana: You better get us a good grade.

Serenity: Uh, How's the essay coming?

Cora: Almost there, we should read the conclusion one more time. It literally makes no sense.

Serenity: Okay, Imma use the bathroom first.

Diana: Upstairs, first door to the right.

(Serenity is done using the restroom and see's Diana's room, and goes in it)

(She looks through Diana cabinets and sees her picture book, she looks through it and sees a picture of her, Diana, Morgan, and Cassie of when they were younger and she took a picture of it).

Diana: I can't believe Serenity warmed her way over here!

Cora: Why don't you like her?

Diana: She- she did something that nobody should do. You shouldn't even care anyway, your way cooler than her. Did I ever tell you about this time where she was playing volleyball and her old crush was playing on the other side and she hit her crush with the volleyball? It was so funny and I-

(Serenity walks in)

Cora: um I should go, thanks for having me, Diana.

Diana: Bye Cora.

Serenity: um I should go to. Thanks for inviting me, Diana.

4:40 P.M. (At Serenity's house)

Serenity: I'm home

Zoe: Well It's about time you got here.

Serenity: Oh no, what happened now?

Zoe: I asked you to do the dishes earlier this morning.

Serenity: But the dishwasher isn't working, mom said we would get a new one.

Zoe: We don't need a need dishwasher.

Serenity: Yes we do, the one we have isn't working

Zoe: No we don't

Serenity: Why?

Zoe: Because I'm looking at one right now.

Serenity: Where (Serenity looks around). WAIT, ME?

Zoe: Yes.

Serenity: Not now because I have to edit an IG pictu- I- I mean I have to work on my math assignment. I gonna be in my room if you need me.

Zoe: Whatever.

(At Serenity's room).

Serenity's p.o.v

I'm so excited to post the picture of Me, Diana, Morgan, and Cassie of when we were younger, we pretended like we were on the moon. I feel really happy when I see this I feel like they'll finally be my friend after I post this. Hopefully, Diana doesn't get mad about the fact that I went to her room and looked through all of her stuff. I'm sure she won't mind. 

( Serenity edits and posts the picture, feeling good ).

The next day...

7:49 A.M. (At school)

(Morgan is taking a "selfie")

Cassie: Is this still a selfie if someone else is taking it, it's more of a someonelsey.

Morgan: Okay, pay up

(Morgan puts her hand out)

Cassie: What? I don't have any money.

Morgan: I mean like give me my phone.

Cassie: Oh, then just say that. Here.

Morgan: Thanks.

(Morgan and Cassie see the picture that Serenity posted yesterday)

Morgan: Aww our childhood, so retro.

(Morgan likes that picture)

Diana: I am going to ruin Serenity for posting the awful picture.

(Morgan unlikes the picture)

Cassie: But why, you look super cute.

Diana: I know I look cute Cassie, but that's not the point. The point is that when I was younger, I loved the moon and stargazing and all that stuff.

Morgan: And?

Diana: That moon stuff is trash these days, and we are all over it. If people find out that I used to like the moon junk, I-

Random girl: Super cool pic Diana, wanna go stargazing with me?

Diana: Ugh

12:00 P.M. (at lunch)

Serenity: It's crazy that Mr. Lane moved lunch from like 10:00 to 12:00, I forgot to eat breakfast today.

Cora:Well you have a bowl of Mac & Cheese, a salad, and an apple sitting in front of you. They're not friends, so they're waiting for you to devour them so that they don't have to see each other again.

(Serenity and Cora laugh, then Serenity looks around the cafeteria)

Cora: Are you looking for someone?

Serenity: No it's nothing, I just thought that Diana would sit with us today.

Cora: Well, be careful what you wish for!

Serenity : what?

Diana: Hey Serenity! Renni? Serena? Renity?

Serenity: um Serenity is just fine, but my sister and my mom can me Ren or Renni for short.

Diana: That's fun. My nickname is Ana. I love that name.

Serenity: That's fresh I guess.

Diana: excuse me?

Serenity: I-I mean that's a nice nickname.

Diana: Thank you, Morgan or Cassie hasn't even told me that yet.

Morgan: Ok Diana. Don't get mad at me, you never even told us your nickname.

Cassie: She's correct.

Diana: Anywho, It was so much fun hanging out with you last night. 

Morgan: (whispers) Oh were being nice.

Diana: Also I love the photo you posted last night Renni, we should hang out sometime.

(Morgan likes the IG picture AGAIN)

Serenity: ok 

(Diana, Morgan, and Cassie get up, and Diana takes Serenity's backpack).

Cora: That was Odd.

Serenity: They're just being nice. 

Cora: That's the suspicious part.

Serenity: You just haven't gotten to know them very long.

12:05 P.M.

(Diana slams Serenity's backpack at the outside lunch table).

(Jenna comes).

Jenna: Hey crew! 

Diana: Ok Jenna, I'm glad you're here because you weren't here at lunch today.

Jenna: I'm sorry I had to work on my English project with Spencer today. And what the heck are you doing with Serenity's backpack?

Diana: If you must know, yesterday, she posted a picture of our childhood.

Jenna: Oh yeah. You were super cute.

Diana: Yeah, I know.

Jenna: So why is that a problem?

Diana: The reason why it's a problem is because I used to love all that moon stuff, and now that I'm in high school. It's super lame, and Serenity also knows it's lame, but she had the audacity to post it. She must of went to my room after using the bathroom. She invaded my privacy. That's not what mature people do. 

Jenna: So what's the plan?

Diana: I gonna find something in here to show the freaking school how lame Serenity is.

Morgan: This is like the best thing we did in like a month.

Cassie: Diana, I don't know what you're doing, but this is not a good idea.

Diana: Then why don't you go over there and sit with Serenity?

Cassie: I'd rather stay here.

Diana : That's what I thought.

(Diana looks through Serenity's yellow notebook)

Diana: Oh my gosh, this is exactly what I needed. I know how to be done with Serenity for good. She still dreams about living on the moon.

Jenna: SHE DOES. Oh my gosh, we have to come up with something. How about we set up a party and tell Serenity that Braydon invited her, and then she'll come, and later one at the party, we'll expose her.

Diana: Jenna. That's the BEST IDEA. Thanks for coming up with it. Now I need every one of you to help me set up this party, INCLUDING YOU CASSIE.

Cassie: (sighs). Ok

Diana: Let's go, I think I smell Cora's perfume and she's heading here, she'll see the backpack. I don't want a friend that hangs out with Serenity. Let's go now.

(They all get up and leave with Serenity's backpack)
