OLVIA DIDNT KNOW HOW LONG SHE AND LUKE REMAINED IN THAT POSITION, in each other's arms, but she didn't mind.
After poofing them out of the Patterson house, Olivia didn't know where else to bring the sobbing boy so she brought them to the Orpheum roof.
The 2 teenagers sat on the ground as Olivia let Luke continue to cry into her shoulder, she didn't make a move to stop him, and instead, she just kept stroking a gentle hand down his back.
It was a situation neither of the teens had expected to end up with. After the horrible fight they had, they had not expected to see each other soon.
But Olivia knew how badly Luke was hurting, she couldn't just let him go through it all on his own. The day he had run away from home had already hurt him badly, she couldn't even imagine how badly he was hurting right now.
Luke was like her ray of sunshine, always warm and bright, always giving her that eye-crinkle smile that shot tingles down her spine. Luke was one of the most cheerful people she knew, one of the kindest too. She didn't know Luke as someone who would hurt anyone, Luke was always the person to help and protect. Luke Patterson was by far one of the brightest lights in her life but now as she held Luke in her arms, she couldn't help but look up and ask a silent question.
Out of all the people in this world, why did you decide to hurt him?
It wasn't until a few minutes later, that Luke finally pulled himself together. He sucked in long deep breaths and his tears eventually stopped running.
Olivia willed a tissue to appear in her hands and with a poof, it materialized in thin air, the blonde positioned herself in front of the brunette and softly lifted his chin so his eyes were now looking at hers
The sight almost made her cry again.
Luke's face was red and blotchy from crying and his eyes, although dry, were still filled with such pain it tore Olivia apart.
The blonde sighed but softly used the tissue to wipe the tears drying up on his face, Luke couldn't help but lean into her touch slightly. The boy's eyes never left the blonde as she focused on wiping his face.
"You don't have to do this," Luke whispered, his voice scratchy and soft that Olivia nearly didn't hear him.
Her blue eyes shot to his hazel ones and for a moment she had forgotten all about their fight, about the words they had exchanged. Everything. All that mattered was getting Luke Patterson, her Luke Patterson, back on his feet.
"I know, but I want to," Olivia said softly, the tenderness was enough to cause him to break again.
"God Olivia I'm sorry! I'm so so so sorry, man you can't believe how sorry I am. I-i barely got any sleep last night, I just stayed up all night thinking about how to make it up to you and how to make you forgive me but I just assumed you were never gonna forgive me. I was horrible, rude, and selfish and you shouldn't be wasting your kindness on me dammit, I don't deserve it-"
"Luke-"
"But Olivia I don't think I've ever wanted to beat myself up more. God Ol, you are the one thing in my life, the one thing that keeps me going a-and without you I honestly don't know what I would do.
I'm sorry for calling out your anxiety like that, I was a dick. I had no excuse for doing that and I shouldn't even be forgiven for saying shit about your anxiety. It was disgusting and horrible but Ol, I promise you your anxiety had never been a problem for me.
Selfishly, whenever you did have a panic attack I was just glad that I was always there to help you because I like- no I love being the person you go to when you need someone. I love being an important person in your life,"
"Wait, Luke-"
"And I don't expect you to forgive me now or ever, but Ol you need to know that I care about you. God Ol I think I care about you more than anybody else I know! Whenever you cry it makes me want to punch a freaking wall and kill anyone who ever dared to make you upset.
That day at the recital, Ol you had no idea how much restrain it took me not to bash in all of their skulls for making fun of you. Ol you are the most amazing and talented person I know and I'm sorry for making you feel as if you were any less. You deserve the whole goddamn world. If anyone deserves the world it's you, Olivia. And you don't even have to accept my apology, I know I've betrayed your trust and hurt you deeply, and you probably never want to see or speak to me and-"
"LUKE!" Olivia shouted, finally cutting Luke off from his adorable apology/ramble. The brunette jumped and looked up and the blonde, her face was blank from any kind of emotion and Luke couldn't tell if she was angry or happy about his apology.
"Y-yeah?" Luke asked nervously.
Contrary to her blank expression, Luke's apology made Olivia soar. She had not expected it at all, I mean she knew an apology was coming but she hadn't expected Luke to pour out his soul for her. It made her feel seen, it just gave her even more reassurance that all the words they had said were just in the heat of the moment. None of them had meant what they had said.
There was a pregnant pause before the blonde gave Luke a soft smile "I forgive you"
Luke hadn't realized he was holding his breath till she said those words, the boy let out a breath of relief and his heart squeezed. In a good way.
He smiled at the girl and squeezed her hands lightly but as he took a closer look, he noticed there was still a flicker of hesitation in her eyes causing Luke to frown.
"What's wrong?" he whispered, Olivia looked at him startled. Before the girl could reply Luke added,
"And don't say nothing, you know I read you better than anyone."
The girl let out an airy laugh and Luke's heart flipped.
God, he really could listen to her laugh all day.
"I guess you do... it's not that anything is wrong per se but, I just don't know if I can fully trust you just yet you know? You're forgiven and we're good and all but it's gonna take a bit of time for me to trust you again like I used to I guess, I don't know. Your words just really stung Luke." Olivia shrugged, and Luke's heart clenched.
His heart seemed like it couldn't make up its mind, one moment it was doing cartwheels and now it felt like somehow had put a big hole in it.
He knew there wasn't any way he could get her to forgive him right away, but there was something he was willing to try to prove his sincerity.
Luke shifted away from Olivia slightly and let go of her hands, Olivia frowned at the loss of warmth and watched as an acoustic guitar materialized in Luke's hands.
Olivia was about to ask what he was doing but the boy had already started strumming a melody and Olivia immediately shut up.
OLIVIA BY LUKE PATTERSON
"Remember the day when we've given up when you told me I didn't give you enough, and all of your friends were saying I'll be leaving you"
Olivia gasped, it was the song he didn't allow her to read.
As he continued to sing the song, Olivia's heart melted. The lyrics were about her, she knew they were about her. The melody was upbeat and she couldn't help but bop her head to the swift beat.
"Please believe me, don't you see the things you mean to me? Oh, I love you, I love you, I love, I love, I love Olivia." As Luke sang he looked up from his guitar and offered the girl a wink and a grin.
Olivia's jaw dropped for multiple reasons.
Luke Patterson had written a song for her, with her name. And he said he loved her in the song, Olivia couldn't help but wonder in what way he meant it.
"I live for you, I long for you, Olivia. I've been idolizing the light in your eyes, Olivia. I live for you, I long for you, Olivia. Don't let me go"
Olivia couldn't help but laugh, god how she loved the song. It was for her. Luke Patterson, the boy she loved, had written a song for her. All for her.
When Luke continued singing, Olivia couldn't help but feel as if the lyrics were being spoken to her directly and the thought of it made her swoon. The song was so sweetly written and you could tell Luke put effort into it.
No one had ever written a song for her before, hell no one had ever sung her one before. So as she sat there in front of the boy she had fallen in love with, while he sang a song he had written just for her with that beautiful voice of his, she couldn't help but be grateful for how lucky she was.
Luke Patterson wrote her a song and sang "I love you" to her.
Nothing could get better than this.
"I live for you, I long for you, Olivia. I've been idolizing the light in your eyes, Olivia. I live for you, I long for you, Olivia. Don't let me go. Don't let me go."
Luke gave his guitar a final strum and let out a breath as he looked at the girl. That night when he was awake and pacing, thinking of ways to make it up to her, he finally decided to finish the song he had started about her.
He changed some of the lyrics to show how sorry he was, to show how much it would hurt if she had walked out on him for good.
The "I love you"s were a subtle hint he had added at the last minute to fit the melody but judging from Olivia's face as he sang to her, she didn't hate them.
Little did she know, Luke had meant every word he had sung. Especially the 'i love you's'
His heart hammered in his chest and he flushed nervously.
"So, what did you think? You like it?"
Olivia blinked and for a moment Luke thought she hated him and braced himself for the rejection but the next second, the blonde was shrieking and they were tumbling to the ground.
Luke had already discarded his guitar so when Olivia tackled him with a hug, Luke held the girl tightly to his chest and cushioned her fall as he fell on his back. A laugh bubbled in his throat as Olivia grinned at him wildly.
"Like it? Patterson I LOVED IT. Ohmygod! No one had ever done anything like that for me before. Oh, Luke, that was just amazing. What did you call it?" She asked excitedly.
Luke gently sat them both up, their arms still wrapped around each other, and locked eyes.
"Olivia. I named the song Olivia."
And just when she thought she couldn't possibly fall for Luke Patterson any harder, she was always proven wrong.
Olivia's smile widened and it was only then Luke realized how close they were. With their arms still wrapped tightly around each other, Olivia hugging Luke's shoulders and Luke hugging her waist, they were practically nose to nose.
The 2 teenagers stared at each other, heat and electricity crackling between them. They were inches away from each other and both of them couldn't help themselves as they glanced down at each other's lips.
Luke finally plucked up the courage from deep within him and pressed his lips tenderly to the corner of hers. It was even on the lips but both ghosts felt as if something had exploded within them.
When they let go of each other, they stared at each other a little longer, lustful and adoration for one another in their eyes.
Olivia finally cleared her throat and said " uh we should -uh- head back to the garage. Everyone's probably wondering where we are."
Luke nodded and offered his hand to the girl to help her off the ground. "yeah you're right, let's go."
But even as the ghosts poofed away from the roof, their hands were still tightly intertwined with the others. Not wanting to let go of each other for even a second
A/N : HEHEHE IM NOT GIVING YALLA KISS THAT EASY. i added the song where Olivia came from on top. it's by one direction and i thought it suited this way too well.
