"THAT WAS INSANE! ABSOLUTELY FREAKING INSANE! " EXCLAIMED OLVIA .

The 4 ghosts had poofed into the empty corridor outside of the gym and Olivia paced along the lockers and the 3 boys watched her nervously

"They could see us! How is that possible? I swear, its like whenever we think we're getting the hang of this ghost thing, something comes along to throw everything out of the water" Olivia continued to pace as the boys watched.

"Should we do something?" Reggie asked

"Nah just give her a second she's fine " Alex brushed him off.

It wasn't until Luke stepped in front of the girl and shook her out of her trance did she stop pacing "Hey! You okay?"

The girl blinked before sighing and rubbed her forehead "Yeah, yeah i'm fine ,sorry that just...really shook me up. It was a lot... "

"Yeah no kidding, that was absolutely surreal. You sounded amazing though so stop worrying, everythings okay now" Luke nodded before giving her shoulders a squeeze. As they two walked back to the guys, footsteps were heard and the boys quickly scrambled on top of each other to resemble a pyramid with Luke on top and Reggie and Alex supporting his weight.

Olivia sighed but smiled at their antic nonetheless and the moment Juilie turned the corner, the 3 boys spread out their hands out and yelled with grins on their faces

"JULIE! "

"AH, you! Stop doing that ! I'm serious." the girl hissed at the boys, sending a quick wave to Olivia who leaned on the lockers and gave Julie a smile and wink.

"woah! This ones on you, we were already here." Reggie retorted

"Are we not gonna talk about what just happened?" Luke asked eagerly and both Mercer siblings pointed at him in agreement.

"Yeah the whole school saw you, its kind of freaking me out." Julie chuckled nervously

"Ok good because it's kind of freaking me out too. You know you can see us a-and could see us when we play music and my clothes are made of air but for some reason, i'm still getting a wedgie!"Alex rambled frustratedly while Luke rubbed his back sympathetically.

Julie and Reggie made a face of disgust as Olivia let out a small laugh.

"So many questions"

"The important thing is we rocked that place!" Luke exclaimed with a huge grin and Olivia nodded

"They were loving you" she said to Julie

"Are you kidding? They loved us. That was a great song guys, thanks" The girl said to Olivia and Luke, causing them to smile at her bashfully.

"Did you guys see the cheerleaders looking at me? I think they were looking at me - please tell me they were looking at me" Reggie said as he gripped Luke's shoulders

Luke grabbed Reggies face in response and smiled adorably in a way that made Olivia's heart flutter

"dude, they were looking at you"

Reggie fist pumped the air and cheered but Alex didn't share the same mood, "i- im just so confused, you know? The afterlife should come with instructions or a quick start guide or something! " said Alex

"Well, the good thing is that everyone thought you guys were holograms, and i got back into the music program" Julie said, but despite the good news, the girl still looked glumly at her feet and Olivia frowned.

"Hey, what's wrong? Jules, this is a good thing." Olivia said kindly with a smile.

"Yeah dude, you're making this face-" Luke pulled the boys in and each of them pouted as Olivia bit back a smile. Luke noticed and poked the girl in the gut, causing her to release a giggle and Luke's smile only grew wider.

Julie noted their interaction but didn't speak about it. Instead she sighed "Things just got weird between me and Flynn. She asked about you guys and I couldn't say." she said.

"Sweet, girls are already talking about us.'' Reggie smiled dorkily as he and Luke high fived, causing Olivia to pinch both their arms.

"Guys shut up she's serious" the girl nagged and they both mumbled apologies under their breaths.

"I can't tell her about you guys for the same reason I can't tell my dad. She'll think i've gone off the deep end!" the girl exclaimed and Olivia nodded in understanding.

"Well this dude definitely thinks you've gone off the deep end" Reggie said with an innocent smile, as the ghosts parted a path to slightly reveal an old janitor pushing his cleaning cart past the group, taking a second to stare at Julie with very concerned eyes before walking away.

"I gotta get back to class" Julie says with a small smile, walking past the ghosts and down the hallway.

"Oh! Tell those cheerleaders I'm single!" Reggie called after her with a smile

"Oh, and that he's dead!" Olivia sassed in the same bright tone as he did, causing Reggies smile to drop and turn into a frown.

"Wait - no no no leave that part out - and she's gone." Reggie sighed as Luke let out an enthusiastic whoop of joy.

"How long are we gonna let him do this?"

"Just give him a minute "

"He's making me dizzy"

Luke, Olivia and Reggie sat on the couch back at the garage and watched Alex as he paced back and forth in front of them, his face scrunched up in a frown.

"I think he's practicing his model strut" Reggie said

"He's so nervous it's almost making me nervous" Luke responded

"If he doesn't stop pacing, my heads gonna fall off, my neck already hurts" Olivia mumbled as her head turned again as Alex moved across the room.

"Ok look, you guys know i don't handle change well. Death? That was a change ok and then we became ghosts! Another change, and how we can be seen whenever we play with Julie. Big freaking change! " Alex rambled nervously as Olivia nodded

"Yeah but bro it was a good change, with Julie we can play on stage again and be the band we never got to be. Come on, I mean you gotta be down with that." Luke reasoned

"I mean yeah, who wouldn't be. I just.. I wanna figure out why." Alex said

"Forget why, man, I say we invite Julie to Sunset Curve." Luke said as he stood up.

Olivia couldn't help but feel a little bit off about inviting Julie into the band, Luke was already having ideas about how the band could go onm, but realistically she already knew that in the long run that wouldn't work out.

Another reason was deep down inside of her, she was a little bit hurt ,maybe even jealous, that Luke was so eager to get the girl in the band. Before the girl stopped performing, she was lead singer with Luke and they were usually the only ones who sang together.

Thinking about Luke singing with another girl brought Olivia back to high school and it made her slightly insecure. God Olivia you sound like such an ass right now, Julies is a good singer and she's clearly better than you so just suck it up. Julie would obviously help the band a lot more than you can right now, stop being selfish, she thought to herself and nodded

"Yeah totally!" she said with a smile.

Alex saw right through his sister but said nothing.

"Yeah I mean think about it, with a new lead singer this band will be legendary. " Reggie was also standing up, Olivia was still seated on the couch in between the two.

"Hey! I'm our lead singer, and Olivia too once she's ok with performing again" Luke said strongly, Olivia looked up at him in surprise but quickly covered it up with a smile, her heart doing tiny cartwheels.

Luke noticed the girl's smile and his heart did cartwheels too.

"Dude, that girl has the voice of an angel and can make us visible. Without her we're just elevator music." Reggie said, his words hitting Olivia a little hard and her smile dropped a little.

She hated that she still wasn't ok with performing yet and hated not being able to help the guys with vocals even more.

"You don't have to be so mean about it" said Luke clearly noticing Olivia's fallen demeanor but the girl still tried to hold her smile.

"And we're on the run way again" she sighed as Alex started to pace again.

"I'm sorry alright i just - i gotta clear my head" The blonde boy sighed and walked to the door of the garage. Alex tried to grab the handle but his hand kept passing through and he started to get annoyed.

"Dude you're a ghost, just poof out." Reggie suggested

"Don't tell me how to ghost!"

"Hey wait for me outside, i'll join you" Olivia said as she stood up from the couch, Alex nodded at his sister and poofed out.

Before Olivia could make a move Luke grabbed the girl's hand and dragged her near the piano.

"Wh-what are you doing, Luke i gotta go - " Olivia started

"What's wrong?" the boy asked, his words dripping with concern.

Olivia bit her lip and her gaze fell to their clasped hands, she looked around for Reggie but the bassist had retreated to the upstairs loft to dig around and explore so she sighed and looked back up at the brunette boy.

"Nothings wrong." she shrugged

"Olivia, are we really gonna pretend like I can't read you like an open book?" Luke asked with a raised brow as he leaned closer to the girl, giving her hand a squeeze.

The boy's heart was going crazy and it took him everything just to make sure he wasn't blushing.

"Well I mean, obviously the whole performance thing at Julie's school really scared me. As much as i want to be able to be out there and perform again i'm not gonna be ready so soon but i managed to actually sing for an audience today so i guess there that." Olivia rambled and Luke nodded with a smile.

"Yeah you did, I couldn't be more proud of you Ol." He whispered so sweetly to her the girl almost felt like crying.

"Then when you suggested that Julie should join the band i was so excited, i mean Julie has a fantastic voice and you all can be seen when she plays and that's great but at the same time i don't want you to get your hopes up you know, depending on Julie isn't gonna work out in the long run" she said gently, giving Luke's hand a squeeze.

The boy frowned, he didn't really expect that response from her.

He knew that Olivia will always support the band no matter what so he was just a little confused why she thought that way "are you sure that's the only reason you're upset?'' the boy pressed and Olivia hesitated

She could tell him how she felt about him singing with another girl, or how she could suck it up and lie to him. The latter won.

"Yes i'm sure and if you now will excuse me, i need to make sure my brother isn't out there still pacing like a maniac" The girl laughed as she pulled her hand away from Lukes and walked towards the door.

Her door was already on the handle but just before she opened the door she heard Lukes voice behind her.

"No one can ever replace you, you know that right?"

Her heart stopped beating for a second and she swallowed before looking behind her, Luke stood a few feet away from her staring at her so intently her knees wobbled slightly.

Of course he knew, he always knew.

Luke knew that wasn't the only reason, he knew Olivia better than anyone.

He hated how much the girl was so unconfident of herself and made it his sole duty to make sure she knows shes worth it.

The butterflies in his stomach swarmed as Olivia gave him a sweet smile and nodded.

"Now i do"
