"will you be my girlfriend?"

"wait what?"

"i said what i said."

"you're for real?"

"are you dumb? don't tell me you forgot we liked each other! did you think i was playing a prank on you this entire time?"

"no, idiot! why now? where's all this coming from?"

"bitch its coming from my heart, where else? i like you, you like me, we've seen each other naked. so, why not? what's the harm in giving it a shot? i wanna be with you, y/n."

"well then, yes, i'll be your girlfriend."

"wife too?" they joked.

 "hopefully." you replied, smirking.

they turned their head gradually, looking down at you, as their mouth curled into a small smile. you admired the way her hair flowed in the direction of the wind, appearing so soft and free in the star-light.

you two stared at each other for a split second, before she began leaning in towards you slowly, a gleam in her eyes.

you watched nervously as they kept approaching you, their gaze never leaving your eyes. until they trailed your jaw with their finger, resting it under your chin, then snaking it up to your cheek, cupping it.

they tilted their head to the side, closing their eyes gently, and you did the same. her lips grazed yours softly, and the two of you smiled into the kiss, as you kissed the other back.

although it was a simple kiss, much meaning and emotions were poured into the action. just as the two of you were beginning to deepen the kiss, hange was the one who pulled away first, gasping for air as they stared down at you, eyes slightly glimmering in the moonlight.

"let's not get too eager. we have all night, y'know. but i'm just saying, that skirt is practically begging for me to slip it off." she mumbled, winking at you.

your face flushed, thinking of all of the possibilities of what that one statement could mean. you couldn't help but correlate it to sexual fantasies, as thoughts of hange kept roaming around in your head, but you didn't want to think of that right now.

"what the hell is that supposed to mean?!" you squealed.

they looked back at you, a light shining in their eyes, while they grinned.

"oh, y/n. you know what it means." they whispered in reply, sending shivers down your spine.

"unless you don't want to, consent exists, but i'm well-aware you keep a lot of sexual fantasies locked up in that cute  brain of yours that we can make come true." they mumbled again.

 "hange-"

 "hm?"

"we're in the middle of nowhere, at night, out in the open. this isn't happening right now."

"it's always an option!" they laughed joyfully, before you delivered a playful jab to the hip their way.

a comfortable silence fell upon the two of you as you sat under the sky, admiring the stars. to say they were beautiful would've been the biggest understatement of the year. you never had much of an interest for space-science, but the scenery had always been eye-catching.

suddenly, the cold breeze washed over you. you'd already been slightly cold before, and this wasn't helping it one bit. teeth chattering and clattering, you tried to warm yourself up, as you rubbed your hands together, creating heat.

 "cold?" hange questioned.

 "a bit."

 "lets go in my car?"

 "sure."

"just get in and i'll get the car all warmed up. don't worry about loading the stuff back in, i'll do it myself. you get comfy and relax or something." they said, walking off while you got in the car.

the second you got in, your phone started buzzing, signifying you had a call from someone. lifting up the screen to check the caller, you realized it was armin.

it was 9 pm, why was he calling now?

 you picked up the phone.

 "hey, armin."

 "hi, y/n. everything okay?"

 "um, what? yeah, why?"

"well on snap maps it says you're all the way up in the mountains i thought hange killed you or something. you haven't moved in 2 hours."

"oh," you chuckled "hange and i are stargazing up here."

 "what!? how is it?"

"great, actually. she asked me out!"

"oh, y/n! that's wonderful. i'm happy for you."

 "thank you armin!"

"just be careful of her. hange's nice and all but everyone's flawed in ways they can't really control."

 "what do you mean?"

"she's got bad commitment issues. after about 6 months at most, they get completely detached from any relationship that they're involved in. hange always ends up breaking up with them or her partners end up leaving her with a random excuse."

"but she told me they left her because of her friendship with nanaba?"

"that's what the excuse is most of the time. in reality, her exes don't give a shit about nanaba, it's the commitment issues that get them. hange's first ever girlfriend, she broke up with because she wasn't feeling it anymore, shows the commitment issues. the other two, she just got really closed off like 2 months in and ended up ghosting them because she couldn't take it anymore."

 "what the hell..."

"she loves sleeping around and just feeling the rush of chasing someone around and having a crush. the second they like her back and they both end up in a relationship, the love is all gone for hange, and they end up leaving or being left due to lack of commitment and attention in a relationship."

"how do you even know all this, armin?"

"since you started obsessing over hange lately, i did my own research by asking their friends and exes questions about how they are in a relationship."

 "and?"

"they're loyal and they won't cheat, but she has bad commitment issues. just don't get too attached, okay?"

"yeah yeah, whatever. thank you armin."

 "yep."

"i gotta go now, before hange comes back."

 "okay, bye."

 "bye."

you hung up almost immediately, throwing your phone on the ground afterwards. you sighed heavily, holding tears back from the frustration that this was going to bring upon you and your relationship. commitment issues? they can't be that bad. you were already a person with attachment issues and fear of abandonment, this wasn't going to be good for your heart in any way, shape, or form.

at least they won't cheat, right?

i can deal with a bit of commitment issues. it's fine.

hearing footsteps approaching the driver's door, you blinked fast, forcing your tears back, before smiling slightly.

 "hi." you said.

 "hey! are you okay?"

 "why?"

 "you look...off."

 "oh. i dunno, it's cold."

"that's a lame ass excuse. did something happen?"

 "nope."

 "you sure?"

 "yes, hange."

 "alright."

silence fell upon you, until you shifted uncomfortably in your seat, deciding if you should ask about it or not. it was stupid to ask about such thing, especially after you just started dating, but you couldn't fight the urge.

"do you have commitment issues?" you blurted out.

 "huh? oh, commitment issues? me?"

 "yeah."

"i guess i do sort of have them. why?"

 "i don't know, i was wondering."

"you don't have to worry about me leaving you. you feel...different than the others i've been with."

 "good way?" you asked, nervous.

 "of course."

"i hate the thought of being strangers again with you."

 "y/n, we won't, i won't let it happen."

 "i trust you."

"strangers with memories. that's what they call it, huh? what an interesting phrase..."

"it is, isn't it?" you said back.

"sounds nice for something so frightening. huh?" she said in a joking way, followed with a smile.

"shut up." you groaned, but you couldn't help but laugh at their dumb remark.

"whatever, weirdo. let's get back home, this place is creepy late at night."

"for once, something smart actually came out of your mouth."

 "y/n! that's mean!"

 "kidding!"

laughter from the two of you erupted in the car as hange sped off back home to your dorms, many things planned for you to do for the rest of the night together.
