Elaena ran with excitement to her aunt Halaenas room. Her aunt was only a few years older than her, but still was like an older sister to her.
"Lena!" She yelled, looking at her aunt as she entered her room with a run. The older girls head lifted up, smiling as she saw her niece run into her room.
"Niece!" She yelled out, picking the girl up and spinning her around once, before placing her on the ground again.
"I missed you" Elaena said with a frown on her little face.
"It is only been two days!" Halaena laughed at her nieces words.
"I know" Elaena answered with a little smile.
Halaena then sat the girl down beside her before showing her more insects that she had found. Today, she held a long centipede in her hand, making Elaena look at it with disgust.
"I don't like it, there's too many legs!" The young girl yelled out, making her aunt laugh back in response.
"Where are the others gone?" Halaena asked her niece.
"They are training with Ser criston" Elaena said with an angry look. She had never liked the man and felt that he treated her quite coldly, and unfairly.
"I see" her aunt replied continuing to hold the insect in her hands.
The two continued to talk about insects for another twenty minutes, laughing and giggling as they did, until Alicent entered the room abruptly.
"My queen" Elaena said bowing to her.
"Elaena" The queen said biting back a frown.
"Tell me, young girl. Did you have any part of the horrible plan your brothers out together to tease my son?" Alicent barked out.
"Oh, no! I believe it was Aegon who came up with the plan" Elaena said frightfully.
"Of course it was....you may go" Alicent said with a disappointment look as she heard her eldest son was teasing her other son.
The girl nodded, sending her aunt a small smile before quickly making her way out of her aunts room.

Later that day all the Velaryon siblings were back in their playroom again. Elaena listening carefully as her brother told her of the events that had happened while they were training in the courtyard.
"Ser Harwin hit him!" She yelled in shock with a smile.
"Oh yes, it was quite the scene" Jacaerys replied making her laugh again at his words.
"I wish I was there!" Elaena sighed sadly. She had always wished that she could learn how to fight, but as she was a girl, it was seen as improper. That did not stop Jacaerys from teaching her all he knew, knowing it made her upset she could not learn alongside him.
"I do not! You could have been hurt el" Jacaerys told her.
"I would not have been! I am the best fighter on the realm!" She exclaimed, jumping up to retrieve her fake sword.
She began poking her older brother with it, making him laugh and grab his own, and they continued to spar, and their other brother joined in too.
They all stopped when their mother walked in, looking tired from the days events. They dropped their swords on the ground.
"Mother!" Elaena yelled, running over to her mother who picked her up sighing.
"My words arent you growing! Soon enough I will not be able to hold you in my arms." She smiled to her daughter who only laughed in response.
"Mother did you hear what occurred in the yard! Ser Harwin-" her youngest son began.
"I want no talk of it, off to bed" their mother said placing her daughter on the ground.
"But-" Elaena started, looking up to her mother wondering why she was suddenly so upset.
"Now!" Her mother yelled, making her daughter jump from the sound. Her mother never yelled at her. Elaena stayed in place until Jacaerys grabbed her hand in his own, leading her to her room.
"Why'd she yell at me?" Elaena sniffled as tears fell down her cheeks.
"She's just tired el" Jacaerys said wiping her tears, before leaning down and hugging her. She cried into his hug.
"Ziry's ok" He said patting her back gently (its ok)
The two often spoke in high Valyrian to each other. They started doing it when they were young, as they were encouraged to by their mother to help learn it, but it had then become a habit.
"Nyke'm ok" She said pulling away from him (I'm ok)
"Goodnight el" he whispered to her
"Goodnight Jace" she smiled back, before walking to her room.
Jacaerys watched as she walked off, smiling to himself, then blushing realising he had been staring at her a little too long, making him run to his own room down the hall.

Two days later the Velaryon children were given sad news, Ser Harwin had been told to go back to the strong house, called Harrenhal and rule there. The three children loved him dearly, Jacaerys especially.
"Be good to your mother children" He said looking down at his children.
Elaena only snuggled closer into her mothers side, trying to find some kind of comfort from her. She was sad to see him go, he had always been a part of her life and now he wouldn't be.
"I'll visit when I can, but that may be some time." Ser Harwin said sadly to them.
Jacaerys walked over and stood against his mothers side as well clearly upset to see Ser Harwin go.
"Jace" Rhaenyra said, playing with her sons hair, trying to make him feel better.
"I will return....I promise" He said to the oldest child who was devastated due to his departure.
With one simple kiss to Joffreys head, Ser Harwin was gone, he had left the castle, and left his family, not realising it would be the last time he'd ever see them.
Jace ran out to the hall, watching Ser Harwin walk away, Rhaenyra and Elaena walked out to him. They watched him with worry.
"We will exchange letters by raven. Wont that be fun?" Rhaenyra said trying to cheer her son up, offering him a small smile.
"Is Ser Harwin my father?" Jacaerys asked suddenly, making Rhaenyras eyes widen.
Elaenas face dropped in shock, if the man was Jacaerys father he was bound to be hers too.
"What?" Elaena asked worriedly, hoping it was not true.
"But Laenor is my father" She cried, her face scrunching up in sadness at the news.
"Am I a bastard?" Jacaerys asked with disgust and anger.
"You two are Targaryens, that is all that matters, yes?" Their mother asked them, making them nod still visibly sad. They all walked back inside, the rooms mood now full of despair.

Alright I'm aware of how bad these first few chapters are, but PLEASE TRUST THE PROCESS.
Jace and Elaena don't really like each other romantically until they get a bit older so that's why it's not very interesting...
BUT IT WILL BE SOON!
