THE AVENGERS LET OUT A COLLECTIVE YELL and started to charge the opposing army ahead. Wakandan ships flew alongside flyers like War Machine, Falcon, Iron Man, and Specter as Giant-Man stomped towards the incoming leviathan. Spider-Man used Scott's large arms to swing into battle.

The two sides clashed and the Wakandan soldiers fought the Chitauri with their spears and swords. Giant-Man landed a clean left hook across the nose of a leviathan, bringing the large serpent-like alien down.

T'Challa and Okoye fought off incoming aliens with Shuri shooting her blasters behind them. Drax leaped onto a large Chitauri gorilla and stabbed his knives into its back.

Tony flew in the air with Pepper and shot down incoming ships with their beams and blasters.

Steve and Thor continued fighting the aliens on the ground. Cap still used his broken shield along with Mjölnir while Thor used Stormbreaker. After a mix-up, the two realized they switched weapons.

"No, no. Give me that." Thor took back the axe and tossed the hammer to Steve, "You have the little one."

Bucky and Rocket used their guns to shoot down the Black Order soldiers. More started running towards them from the side, but Specter dropped down and shot energy beams at the aliens and took them all down.

"Nice covering our six, kid." Bucky thanked as he continued shooting. Y/N wanted to give a greeting to a long lost friend, but instead simply gave a light smile and flew back up.

Nearby, Tony was fighting off the Chitauri. Cull Obsidian came in and threw Tony into a pile of debris, preparing to stab his blade down at him. Spider-Man swung in and pulled Obsidian down with a web, giving Scott the opportunity to crush the alien with his oversized foot.

"Holy cow!" Peter leaped over to Tony and helped him up, "You will not believe what's been going on. Do you remember when we were in space?"

Tony just looked at the young kid, tuning out his rambling and simply smiling. Seeing Peter again gave him a sense of happiness he didn't think he'd feel.

"...and he did the whole sparkly thing he does all the time—"

"He did? Oh." Tony embraced Peter which surprised him.

"What are you doing? Oh." He hugged him tighter, "Oh, this is nice."

Clint was running with the gauntlet, evading attacks from the Black Order and trying to get as far as possible from them. Sam flew in and stabbed one of the Chitauri gorillas with his wings before it can attack Barton.

"Cap? What do you want me to do with this damn thing?" Clint exclaimed into his earpiece.

"Get those stones as far away as possible!" Steve replied as he continued fighting at another part of the battlefield.

"No!" Banner grabbed one of the Chitauri and pummeled it into the ground, "We need to get 'em back where they came from."

"No way to get 'em back. Thanos destroyed the quantum tunnel." Tony chimed in as he flew in the air.

"Hold on!" Scott shrunk himself back to normal size and took out a set of keys, "That wasn't our only time machine."

He pressed the button, and they heard a loud horn playing the tune of La Cucharacha. Specter descended onto a pile of rocks and looked across the field.

"Anyone see an ugly brown van out there?" Y/N called out.

Valkyrie flew on her winged horse and looked down at the battlefield where she spotted the van in the middle of everything, "Yes! But you're not gonna like where it's parked!"

"Scott, how long you need to get that thing working?" Tony asked.

"Uh, maybe ten minutes."

"Get it started. We'll get the stones to you." Steve spoke into his comms.

Doctor Strange flew in and used his magic to suck several Chitauri soldiers into the floor. Tony landed behind him and retracted his mask to speak.

"Hey, you said 1 out of 14 million, we win, yeah? Tell me this is it."

Strange looked back at Tony, "If I tell you what happens...it won't happen."

Tony didn't like that answer, but it was better than nothing, "You better be right."

Spider-Man evaded attacks using his agility and web-swinging. Suddenly, Corvus Glaive ran in and tried to attack him with his staff.

Peter backflipped and tried to shoot a web at the staff, but Glaive pulled him back down by tugging the web and sending him to the floor. He raised the staff and was about to shoot Peter with a blast, but Specter dropped down and deflected the shot with a force field.

Specter charged his hands and shot a beam at Glaive, sending him flying several yards back into a pile of debris.

"Woah, you can do that as a ghost?" Peter asked in awe.

"Pretty much." Y/N replied.

Nearby, they saw Black Panther running with the gauntlet. Ebony Maw trapped T'Challa in a cluster of rock and tried to take the glove.

"I got it!" Peter exclaimed and swung away to help. Y/N started to run off, but upon glancing to his right, he saw somebody in the distance...

Thanos snarled as he tried to toss his sword at T'Challa. It boomeranged back into his hands and he tried to run at him, but Wanda dropped down in front of him and stopped Thanos in his tracks.

Her eyes glowed red as the aura around her also bled crimson. She was angry, angry at the Titan for killing Vision...for killing her...for taking the last five years away.

"You took everything from me." She sternly spoke.

"I don't even know who you are." Thanos replied.

"You will."

She levitated and used her telekinesis to lift large chunks of rock from the earth. She threw them at Thanos, but the Titan blocked most of the impact with his weapon. Wanda dove back down and shot psionic blasts at the warlord, the sheer power causing him to get on a knee.

He picked his sword back up and tried deflecting the blasts. It reminded him of how he fought Specter, but the witch was much more powerful.

Thanos brought his blade down at Wanda but she held it back with her powers. Thanos gritted his teeth as he tried to push the sword further down, but Wanda's eyes glowed more red and she threw the sword away.

Disarmed, Thanos didn't know what else to do. Wanda wrapped crimson energy around his body and lifted him in the air. He grunted in pain as Wanda started to pick apart his armor. Thanos knew that in a moment he'd be unprotected and that she would ultimately kill him, so he did what he had to do.

"Rain fire!" He called out.

"But, sire, our troops!" Corvus shouted back in confusion.

"Just do it!"

Corvus obeyed his father and called for the Sanctuary II ship to begin an attack from the air. The guns activated and started raining down laser blasts into the battlefield.

Wanda looked up to see a laser coming down at her and was too late to react, but Specter flew in to grab her and rolled over into a ditch. In an instant, he made a force field to protect the two of them from the attack similar to how the wizards were doing.

As Y/N held his arm up to form the dome over them, he looked at Wanda beneath him. He didn't know what to say, which was the same problem Wanda had.

"Hey." He breathed out.

She looked into his eyes, "Hey."

She examined his face, noticing the light stubble the thirty-three year old had formed. She can also tell how he'd aged based on his eyes. She would do anything to get the last few years back to spend them with him.

He glanced at the force field and saw the lasers still shooting down onto them. Thanos's fear of Wanda made him do all this.

"You sure scared the crap out of that guy, huh?"

Wanda gave a light smile and pulled him in for a kiss. The two savored the moment, especially Y/N, who hasn't felt her lips in so long.

Amidst the kiss, the rumbling stopped and the laser blasts ceased. The two parted, and Y/N deactivated the force field and looked up at the sky. The ship above switched its target and started shooting at something else in the sky.

"What the hell is this?" Sam spoke into his comms.

"Friday, what are they firing at?" Tony asked.

"Something just entered the upper atmosphere."

A glowing streak of light shot down from the sky and crashed through the ship, disabling their guns and engine.

Captain Marvel.

"Oh, yeah!" Rocket shouted.

Carol shot back up and flew through the ship, further destroying it.

Y/N smiled at the sight, "Thank God."

Peter laid in a crater holding the gauntlet. Carol flew down near him and looked at the teenager. He lifted his head.

"Hi, I'm Peter Parker."

"Hey, Peter Parker. You got something for me?"

He let out a grunt as he got back onto his feet. He looked ahead at the incoming Chitauri army, "I don't know how you're going to get through all of that."

Wanda dropped down beside Carol, "Don't worry."

Okoye walked up to them and held her spear, "She's got help."

The three ladies were joined by Pepper, Valkyrie, Mantis, Shuri, Hope, 2014 Gamora, and present day Nebula. Together, they charged at the Black Order and attacked as they gave Carol time to fly with the gauntlet. Her goal was to reach the quantum tunnel within Scott's van and get the stones away from Thanos.

The Titan noticed her and began running at Danvers, but Pepper, Shuri, and Nebula shot their blasters and brought Thanos down.

He quickly got back up and saw the quantum tunnel nearby. Before Carol could fly into it, he threw his sword at the van and stabbed into the tunnel. A shockwave of energy pushed everybody back as the van exploded.

Everybody in the immediate vicinity laid on the floor, including Y/N. He slowly lifted his head and saw the gauntlet in the dirt along with Thanos running up to it.

Tony quickly shot up and tried to tackle the Titan, but he simply threw Tony aside. Thor tried to attack as well, but Thanos evaded each swing.

He ultimately grabbed onto the axe and kicked Thor away.

Y/N got back up and rested on his knee. He saw Thanos pick the gauntlet up and put it on, which made his eyes widen.

He remembered something....the vision he saw in the SoulWorld. It was happening now.

He looked around the area and saw many of his teammates barely getting up, which included Wanda.

He needed to do something or else he would snap again. He wasn't going to let the Titan win once more.

Specter bellowed as he flew towards Thanos and shot energy blasts at him. He repelled them back with the topside of the gauntlet, but didn't expect Y/N to speed up and kick him across the face. Thanos got on a knee, and Y/N began to grab at the gauntlet.

Upon putting his hand on where the Soul Stone was, he began to feel a surge of power go through his veins. His eyes began to glow, and Thanos took notice. He flailed his arm and threw Specter aside, but the Avengers rolled over and got back on his feet, looking directly at Thanos and still slightly glowing.

Wanda looked up and saw what was transpiring. She noticed the determination in his eyes, Y/N wanted to do what he can to take him down. Even if it took all he had.

"Y/N..." she called out.

Specter charged his fists and flew straight at Thanos, letting out a yell as his arms glowed with bright orange energy.

Thanos looked up to see the hero accelerating towards him. He pulled back his gauntleted hand and prepared to punch back, but didn't realize that the Soul Stone had been glowing.

Specter raised his fist along with Thanos, and the two collided as Y/N punched down onto the gauntlet.

There was a bright flash along with yet another shockwave that dropped everybody back down to the floor. Thanos groaned in pain as he slowly got back up and looked at his mangled arm, but the gauntlet was still on it.

The dust cleared, and the Avengers looked around at the scene. Wanda darted her eyes around trying to find Y/N.

He wasn't there.

Tony looked on in confusion, along with Steve, Thor, and Wanda. He was simply gone. He'd vanished. The three men started feeling the same despair they felt when they lost five years ago.

Thor gritted his teeth, then bellowed as he shot back up and charged at Thanos with Stormbreaker. Although he was weakened, Thanos still tried to fight him off. Steve jumped onto his back and tried to help, but the Titan still overpowered them. He kicked away Thor and flipped Steve over, punching him across the face and knocking him out.

Thanos looked back at his gauntlet and was about to do the deed, but Captain Marvel flew down and tried to stop him. It was a struggle, but Thanos got the upper hand once he punched her away with the Power Stone.

Thanos smirked and raised his hand once again, but Tony ran in to pull the gauntlet off. Thanos kneed his abdomen and hit him across the face with his arm to get him away.

"I am...inevitable." Thanos breathed out, and snapped his fingers.

Nothing.

Thanos looked at the back of the glove in confusion, and saw that the stones weren't there anymore. He looked back at Tony, who was on his knees and holding up his right arm.

He had the stones.

They fused into his suit and power surged through his veins. He knew what he had to do so they could win.

He remembered his time in the cave all those years ago. He came out a different man. He ended up leading a team of extraordinary individuals to protect the world. They made a difference.

He thought of the last five years and how much they've struggled, how much they've lost. He also thought of Vision and Natasha, who lost their lives because of the stones. He then thought of Y/N, who seemingly sacrificed his life to stop Thanos from snapping and weakened him.

He had to make it worth it. All of this had to amount to a win. He had eliminate Thanos and his army even if it killed him. He had to make sure Pepper and Morgan would be okay...he had to make sure humanity would be safe.

"And I...am...Iron Man."

Tony snapped, emitting a bright flash.
