Her eyes slowly fluttered open, she blinked several times, looking up. And was met with a sight of sleeping God next to her. His body pressed against hers, one wing around her frame, her head on his shoulder. His body was warm and she couldn't help but blush a little at the contact and the closeness of their bodies. He was sleeping so peacefully that she didn't want to wake him up by moving. So she stayed. She glanced at the window, it was dark.  She decided to stay next to him this whole night.

"Y/n wake up, it's morning." The h/c girl felt someone shake her shoulders gently, she opened her eyes, looking up and saw that it was XD. She sat up, rubbing her sleepy eyes. Her body was covered in blanket.
"Good morning, XD."
"Are you feeling better?"
"A bit."
"Want me to use my healing powers on you?
"Nah it's fine."
"Why not?"
"Just because." She didn't want to admit that she liked him cuddling with her to warm her up and taking care of her. Ah yes, he can't read her mind in his current form.
"You're strange. As far as I know the sickness is not pleasing so why are you like this?"
"You know, it's actually your fault that I got sick, you just straight up shoved me into snow. I demand compensation for that." She stuck out her tongue at him. Guilt tripping much?
"Oh come on..."
"I got sick and it's your fault." Y/n continued the pressure.
"Fine, whatever. What do you want?"
"A cat."

"I beg your pardon? What?" He was confused.
"A puppy. Or a kitten. One of them, I'm just bored, come on."
"Okay but like where do I find one?"
"Any village. Cats are all around the villages, while dogs are... well, you have to tame a wolf. The grown ups are a lot harder to tame so I suggest you try to tame the puppy."
"I'll try to find one, okay, but later."
"No. Now." She demanded, making him
roll his eyes.
"It would mean leaving you behind, while you're vulnerable like this."
"I'll be fine, just go. I'll call out your name if something."
"Are you sure-"

"Yeah yeah." Y/n got under her blanket once again, waving him off. Without saying anything, he teleported outside, shifting to his God form and launching into the sky. His eagle like eyes observed the SMP from above, in hopes to find any kind of puppy or kitten. He flew over the snowy biome and saw an outline of the houses. Bingo. He landed on his feet, as he got there, villagers running in to their houses, frightened by the presence of the God. Even the iron Golem retreated. As for animals, they weren't even fazed, they were feeling comfortable even. Of course, they didn't know what he's able to do. XD's calming aura engulfed the entire village, calming down the frightened residents. He felt something rub against his legs, causing him to look down. Only to find a small ball of fur with green eyes, looking up at him. The kitten meowed as he reached down and picked it up on his hands. It's gender was female, he didn't mind anyway.

"You'll do." He was quick to teleport back home, the kitten in his hands startled by the sudden anomaly. XD appeared right in front of Y/n who was sprawled on the couch, where XD left her. Seeing him appear out of nowhere she almost yelped, but calmed down instantly upon seeing the kitten in his hands. She was quick to sit up.
"Awww, look at it, it's so cute!" She cooed, motioning him to hand over the kitten.
"Found her in nearby village." He explained, shifting to his half human form and sitting down next to the h/c girl who was petting the cat. The kitten didn't mind, XD's calming aura helped her.
"What should we name this kitten?"
"I don't know, don't ask me. I literally have zero experience with these kind of activities." XD shrugged, reaching out his large hand and petting the kitten's head.
"How about...Patches?" The kitten meowed in response as if liking the name. "She likes it! Aw, you're Patches from now on!" Y/n was beaming, it made XD chuckle quietly. "Thank you, XD!"
"Anything for you." A smile tugged his lips. His response made her tilt his head to the side and cock her eyebrows at him with a shit eating grin playing on her face.

"Anything? You're such a simp."
"Oh come on..." She rolled her eyes playfully, still scratching Patches' chin as he let out a pleased chuckle. "You hungry?" She asked Patches, who just meowed. "That was a yes, I guess." Y/n handed Patches to XD and attempted to stand up.
"Where are you going? Lay back down." He grabbed her hand, pulling her back down.
"I have to feed her." He didn't let go of her hand.
"I'll do it myself. You sit here." He stood up.
"XD I-"
"No." She huffed in annoyance, pouting but didn't attempt to stand up again. He was quick to walk away from her to the kitchen, with a cat in his hands. He summoned several pieces of cooked meat in a bowl, XD settled the bowl next to the kitchen cabinet and let go of the cat, watching as she began eating. He also got her some water. "Done." He returned, plopping down next to Y/n.
"You used your powers?" A nod from him. "Cuddles." Y/n demanded, he scooted closer to her, covering her frame with his wing. The h/c girl hummed, sharing her blanket with him. "Tomorrow is Techno's birthday...I should probably pay him a visit and gift him something. I haven't talked to him for a while as well."
"But you're sick."

"I'm fine, I won't die because of it." She had two canon lives left. She lost one during the fight of Pogtopia and Manburg.
"I'll go with you."
"Okay, I don't mind."
"What are you going to gift him?"
"A stack of potatoes?.." She laughed awkwardly. "Honestly, I don't know. Maybe several netherite ingots and a cake." He decided to test her.
"I can get you full netherite armour set, you could gift him that." XD offered, but she shook her head. "Why not?"
"It'll be considered using you. I don't want that."
"Hm..." She was indeed different. George would ask for netherite while she didn't want his stuff. XD couldn't help but admire her more. A smile tugged his lips under his mask.
"Patches!" Y/n beamed as soon as she saw Patches walking out of kitchen to them. She hopped on XD's lap, curling up in a small ball. XD's smile widened, he dug his fingers in her soft hur, scratching her forehead lightly. "She loves you more than me." Y/n pouted, making him tilt his head and look down at her.
"Obviously. I'm a literal God, all living beings love me." He grinned cockily, making Y/n roll her e/c eyes and huff.
"Cocky bastard."
"Shut up."

"I have to go, you're with me?" Y/n slipped on her boots.
"Of course. I can teleport us."
"No wait, I don't want teleportation- I want to walk."
"But you're-" XD cut himself off with a sigh. "I have a better idea actually."
"What is it?"
"How about we fly there?"
"A...flight?"
"Yes." He fluffed his wings.
"I- I'm afraid of heights, I don't think-"
"Come on, you'll be fine, I'm not gonna drop my only friend and let her die."
"I- okay, but if-" He cut her off by kicking the door open with his leg and picking the girl up in bridal style, making her yelp. He walked out of the cabin, shifted into his full God form and took into the sky. The cold air hit her face, swishing around her. She looked down and squeezed her eyes shut. XD looked down at her, smiling.
"How does it feel?"
"TERRIBLE! I WANT DOWN-"
"Shhh, you're fine. It'll be fast, just trust me."
"Eek!" She squeezed his shoulders tightly as he flapped his great wings and started flying forward. "Slow down!" He obliged, dropping his speed to minimum. Y/n let out a shuddered breath, finally daring to open her eyes and look at him.
"Scared?"
"Y-yeah."

"Don't be. I'll fly slower. You can take your time and enjoy the view."
"That would be good." XD nodded in response, supporting her body with another set of his hands as he increased his speed a little. She grew more comfortable after a while. "A fox! Look!" She chirped, pointing at the bright orange ball of fluff down below them. He briefly glanced down, avoiding yet another massive spruce tree on his way and finally breaking into the empty snowy field. Frozen lakes, caves covered in thick layer of the snow, rabbits, bears and finally, familiar light and outline of the house in the distance.
"We're here." XD landed on the snow, kneeling down so Y/n could hop off. Shifting to his smaller form, he followed her behind, to the door of the house. She knocked and the door opened after several seconds.
"Phil!"
"Y/n!" Phil beamed, looking up and seeing DreamXD behind her back. "Hi- uh, hello there, mate." Phil greeted him nevertheless, gaining a nod from XD.
"Here to visit Techno, is he home?"
"Yeah, but he's going to leave soon. Come inside." He stepped away from the doorframe, unblocking the entrance to the house, leading the duo inside. "Tech! You might want to come down!" Y/n smiled, as she heard the footsteps from above.
"What's up Phil- oh wait, Y/n? AND DreamXD? HEH?" Philza laughed, shaking his head and going to the kitchen to brew some tea.

"Hi nerd. Happy birthday." Y/n mimicked Techno's usual tone, making him roll his eyes. She was quick to give him a hug, he didn't hug back though, Techno was never really affectionate with people.
"Thanks. Glad to see you alive."
"Same for you."
"Technoblade never dies." He chuckled, making DreamXD roll his eyes. He could just kill him here and the entire SMP would know that Technoblade does die. But of course he couldn't bring himself to do that since he's not supposed to hurt lower beings. He's above that. "So uh- DreamXD, it's a surprise to see you here."
"I just followed my friend, to make sure she's safe, that's all." XD shrugged it off, leaning against the wall.
"She? Is? Your? Friend? Heh?"
"I am. You jealous?" She grinned up at Techno.
"No. But like, what- Weren't you with George or something?"
"Not anymore I guess."
"Well, just so you know. We're great friends with her and I'd never hurt her. I've known her for 3 years."
"You didn't tell me about that, Y/n."
"You never asked." She responded with a shrug. "Tech, take these. A present from me." She unzipped her backpack, pulling several netherite ingots, a box with a cake and a bunch of gapples (backpacks are like your inventory in here).

"Why, you didn't have to. I don't need anything from you, Y/n. You're just enough."
"Just take themmmmm." Techno huffed, but accepted the gift.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. By the way, Phil said that you're going somewhere soon?"
"Oh yeah. I gotta visit an old friend of mine." A...who? Okay. Okay. He meant Dream, but okay. She knew they were friends for ages, but acted like rivals. And Dream's in the prison now, Techno owes him a favour, does it mean?.. She could help him out actually. It would be fun, she hasn't fought for a while.
"Techno, is it about Dream?" XD tapped his finger on his arm, patiently waiting for their conversation to end. He wanted her attention back on him, not on Techno. It was pissing him off.
"-to go. He's waiting for me."
"Okay, be careful, Tech. If something, I'd be glad to help you out." DreamXD's ears perked up upon hearing that last line from her. Nah hah. That's not happening. She's not going to be involved into all this bullshit again. Nope. Not on his watch.

"Y/n, we're going home now. Techno, it was pleasure to talk to you once again,
excuse us now." XD walked up to Y/n and grabbed her hand, ready to teleport away. She looked up at him, confused.
"Oh- bye nerd."
"Uh, bye Techno." And with that, everything faded into darkness for a moment and when she opened her eyes, they were back home.
"XD? You good?"
"Yeah- I just don't want you to be involved in their problems. You might lose your lives, you know? And I'll lose you forever if that happens. I don't want that." He mumbled, voice just above the whisper. Honestly, his words hit her hard.
"You're not gonna lose me, you big baby." She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him into a hug.
"What is this?"
"A hug. One of the signs to show your affection."
"Oh."
"Hug me back, dumbass."
"How?"
"Just wrap your arms around me and hold me close."
"Like this?" He wrapped his arms around her waist and held her tightly. Y/n blushed at the contact but nodded ultimately. So this was showing affection? Meaning, he liked her. God, he was getting attached. That was wrong. He's immortal, and she's a mortal. She will die, leaving him all alone, with only memories they made and the pain of the loss. XD realized that. He knew that. But yet, he couldn't break free from her invisible grasp. He was drawn to her, he'd do anything for her, he'd worship her, he'd cherish her. But would that be worth the pain at the end of their road? He really wished to know all the answers. Maybe time will give him that. But he was afraid that it'd be too late by then. Heck, it was a already late. He's grown attached to the human, it was beyond late.
