CHAPTER THIRTY,
— AUGUST 2022 —

❝ YES MA'AM. ❞

⋆.ೃ࿔*. MADDISON & JENNA HAD just arrived at the restaurant where they would be meeting the rest of the group.

As the two started walking towards the restaurant, hand in hand, Jenna spoke up. "Do you think Mason and Izzy are bombard?" Jenna asked the younger girl.

Madi gave Jenna a look, "I mean, Izzy... not so much. Mason in the other hand... He'll want to anything and everything that happened. Madi said with a laugh.

As Jenna and the girl shared a laugh, their laughter died down. Suddenly, Jenna came to a halt, causing Madi to mimicked her action.

"Something wrong?"

Jenna shook her head, "I just have a question," Maddison nodded, signaling for her to continue. "What are we...?"

Madi thought for a second, "Honestly, I have no idea. All I know is that I like you." Madi said, hearing a car door shut.

Jenna smiled at her answer. "Me too. Now come on, we're already late." Jenna said grabbing Maddison's hand and dragging her behind her.

"Wait." Madi's heart raced as she gently tugged Jenna closer, their eyes locked in a moment of anticipation.

"What?" With a daring move, Madi silenced Jenna's words with a passionate kiss, igniting a fire within them both. Jenna couldn't help but smile, her hand finding its place on Madi's hips, drawing them impossibly closer. In that electrifying moment, the world around them faded, leaving only the intensity of their connection.

The two were interrupted by someone clearing their throat. The girls jumped apart to see Jack standing in front of them with raised eyebrows.

Madi cleared her throat, "Jack! Hi." She said awkwardly with a red face. "What's going on here...?" He asked, gesturing towards the two with a smirk.

"Uhm..." Jenna looked up at Madi, signaling her for help. "Uhm, Why don't you go inside, Jenna? We'll be there in a minute." She told the older girl. Jenna nodded and walked away without saying a word.

Jack stayed smiling. "Oh wipe that look off your face, champion." Maddison crossed her arms, Jack laughed softly. "So... how long has that been going on...?" Jack said with a smile making Maddison's face turn redder than before.

"Not long." She said looking at her feet. "Today actually, no one but you." she told the taller boy. That made Jack smile even more. "Really?"

"Yes. But please don't tell anyone yet. Especially Mason." Jack nodded, "Yes ma'am." He said sarcastically making the girl roll her eyes.

⋆.ೃ࿔*. JACK & MADDISON MADE there way towards the the table where they were meeting the rest of their friends.

"Remember, not a word." Maddison said sternly. "Jeez, for someone so short, you're kinda scary." Jack said laughing.

Maddison scoffed and smacked his arm playfully. As they neared the table the sound of a familiar voice could be heard.

Maddison furrowed her eyebrows trying to figure it out. "What's wrong...?" Jack asked the girl. "Nothing, just.. That voice scoundrel so familiar."

The two finally arrived at the table. Maddison saw a familiar black-haired woman. "Mikey!" Maddison said with a smile. She made her way over to the girl and engulfed the girl in a hug.

"Oh my god! What are you doing here?" Madi asked, as the two swayed back in forth. "I missed you." Mikey said with a smile.

"I can't believe you here!" Maddison said pulling away from their hug, keeping her arms on Mikey's shoulders. Mikey hands rested on Maddison's waist.

Jenna's jaw tightened as she watched the closeness between Madi and Mikey. Deep down, she knew that Madi only saw Mikey as a friend, but she couldn't help the pang of jealousy that stirred within her.

Jenna was pulled out of her train of thoughts when Jack nudged her, "You okay in there?" Jenna hesitated for a moment. "Yeah, yeah, i'm... fine."
