{A few months later}

{Randy's POV}

I walk into the kitchen to grab some breakfast, my hair still damp from the shower. As I get things out of the cupboard my ears prick up to the sound of the TV. My gaze drifts across the room and lands on my roommate Jay sprawled on the couch watching some news report. I think nothing of it and almost turn away until I hear the word "murdered". My head whips back around and I fully tune in on the TV. "This tragic incident happened at the screening of the new Stab movie, a film based on Gale Weathers' book about the Woodsboro murders. It's been almost 10 months since the murders in the small town of Woodsboro ended, leaving 6 people dead including the original suspect, the father of one of the victims however it was later discovered that the murders were committed by 2 highschoolers, Billy Loomis and Stu Macher. The police still haven't tracked the 2 down after they fled the town 10 months ago. Additionally, the search for the missing survivor, (Y/n) (L/n), has shown no progression and is rumoured to close as the police have found no leads other than the theory that she was kidnapped by the killers. There are already rumours that the murders that happened here last night could be the 2 "Ghostface" killers coming back to continue their violent work. More on this story as it unfolds." I clench my fists so hard that my nails dig into my palms, not only could everything I went through be happening again, but the police are going to stop searching for (Y/n)? Why would Billy and Stu start killing again? They finished their movie and they never really liked the sequels much, this is someone else's doing. Anger and fear courses through my veins as I spiral downwards in a panic. I have to get to class, I'll be safer there. I can't trust anyone, for now, everyone is once again a suspect.

Film class is always the best, we get to discuss movies and it's just a general vibe. The teacher is amazing too, he actually understands everything we talk about and offers interesting insights. He recommended I become a movie critic, and I'm starting to like the idea. I sit in my seat, appearing to be completely relaxed to others when in reality my head is swimming in overwhelming thoughts and fear.

"People say what happened in that theatre is a direct result of the movie itself," the teacher says, catching my attention. "That is so moral majority, you can't blame real life violence on entertainment," a blonde girl scoffs. "What!? Yes you can, don't you even watch the news," another male student retorts. "Yeah, hello? Murderer was wearing a ghost mask just like in the movie, it's directly responsible," another male student chimes in. "No it's not! Movies are not responsible for our actions," the blonde girl argues back. "It's a classic case of life imitating art, imitating life," another male says, Mickey Alteri. He's a fellow movie wizz like myself, though his main flaw is that fact he prefers sequels to originals. "Mhm, maybe there's someone out there looking to inspire a sequel like Billy and Stu," another male adds from beside him, Alex Brian. Alex Brian is very similar to Mickey, just more bubbly than the male beside him. They had been a couple since the start of college pretty much, instantly clicking together as if they were in some cheesy romantic film.

"This is not a hypothetical, it's not about art. I had biology with that girl, this is reality," another brunette female pipes up, sounding fed up with the way we're treating the situation. "Thank you, I agree with you. Let me tell you about reality Mickey. I lived through this, okay? Life is life, it doesn't imitate anything," I pipe up, ready to give them a piece of my mind. "Come on Randy, with all due respect, the killer obviously patterned themselves after the two serial killers who have been immortalised on film," Mickey points out quietly, Alex rolling his eyes at me. "Thank you," a male student exclaims.

"Are you saying that someone's trying to make a real life sequel you two?" the teacher questions the couple. "Stab 2? Who would wanna do that? Sequels stuck," I scoff loudly, angrily. This gets a rise out of the class as everyone begins arguing. "Oh please, please. By definition alone they're inferior films," I yell as the class begins to quiet once more. "Bullshit generalisation, many sequels have surpassed their original," Mickey argues, staring at me intensely. "Oh yeah?" I question. "Name one," a blonde female student challenges. "Aliens, far better than the first," another male student answers, a couple heads nodding. "Yeah, well, there's no accounting for taste," the female shoots him down. "Thank you, Riley Scott rules, name anothers," I state. "No, Aliens is a classic, okay? Get away from her you bitch!" his friend backs him up. "I believe the line is, stay away from her you bitch. This is film class right?" I correct, questioning the teacher who shrugs. The class laugh at my tease and I find myself feeling proud of my knowledge.

The student brushes me off, his friend patting him on the shoulder in reassurance. "Another one," I state. "T2," Alex pipes up, receiving some nods as well. "You two have hard ons for Cameron," the blonde female student points out. "Wait a second, the first Terminator is historical," a male student argues. "Yeah, 'Sarah Conner,' 'yes?' Boom!" I imitate the scene.

"Alright, alright, House 2, the second story," another male student brings up yet another movie. The whole class disagrees with his suggestion, Mickey even throwing a paper ball at him. "Alright, alright I got it by the way. The Godfather, Part 2," Mickey says, the class nodding in agreement. I nod my head at the suggestion, agreeing with the movieclips. The teacher dismisses us early after the discussion, I pick up my notebook and instantly begin walking towards the door. "So Mr.Originality, how would you make it different?" the brunette girl from before questions me. "I'd let the geek get the girl," I reply, spraying some breath freshener in my mouth for extra effect and walking out.
