Narrator:

The city was blanketed in white, the streets quieter than usual as fresh snow continued to fall. Feng Xin stuffed his hands deeper into the pockets of his coat, his breath visible in the freezing air. He glanced to his side where Mu Qing walked beside him..looking as composed as ever. The guy had his scarf wrapped perfectly, his coat pristine and his gloves matching..because of course, he had to look perfect even in a snowstorm.

"Why did I let you drag me out in this weather?" Feng Xin grumbled.

Mu Qing rolled his eyes. "You weren't dragged. I merely suggested it and you being a stubborn idiot..didn't want to admit you had nothing better to do."

Feng Xin scoffed. "Tch. Whatever."

The snow continued falling softly around them and despite his complaints, Feng Xin had to admit that it was kind of nice.

Moments later, Feng Xin had just turned his head to look at a passing couple when..

SMACK!

Something cold and wet exploded against his face. He stood there for a full second, stunned.. the chill seeping through his scarf. Slowly, he wiped the melting snow off and his expression blank.

Mu Qing, standing a few steps away had the audacity to smirk. Feng Xin's eye twitched. "Oh. Oh, you think you're funny, don't you?"

Mu Qing dusted off his gloves, looking utterly unbothered. "You weren't paying attention."

Feng Xin let out a slow exhale while cracking his neck. "Alright. You wanna play like that?" Before Mu Qing could react, Feng Xin bent down, scooped up a handful of snow and hurled it at him.

Mu Qing was not fast enough. The snowball hit him square in the chest, leaving a cold and wet stain on his perfect coat.

His mouth fell open slightly, his face a mix of disbelief and growing rage. "You-" Feng Xin smirked. "What? Not so fun when you're on the receiving end, huh?"

Mu Qing narrowed his eyes. "Oh, you're dead." And just like that, it escalated into full blown war.

Snowballs flew back and forth, curses and argument mixing with the sound of crunching snow. Feng Xin had no problem pelting Mu Qing with ice but Mu Qing make sure each of his throws was exactly aimed at Feng Xin's face.

They ran through the snow, dodging and taunting..neither willing to surrender. But then, after a particularly aggressive throw, Mu Qing slipped.

Feng Xin reached out on instinct, catching him before he could hit the ground. For a second, neither of them moved. Mu Qing's hands clutched at Feng Xin's coat, his breath slightly uneven from running. Feng Xin's arms were firm around his waist and holding him steady.

Mu Qing blinked up at him. "You can let go now." Feng Xin didn't do it. Instead, his grip tightened slightly. "You're freezing."

Mu Qing scoffed. "Of course I am, idiot. We're standing in the snow." Feng Xin sighed through his nose, before he could think better of it.. he tugged Mu Qing closer, wrapping his arms fully around him.

Mu Qing tensed. "What are you-"

"Shut up." Feng Xin grumbled, pressing his chin against Mu Qing's head. "You're cold. Just let me do this for a second."

Mu Qing stood still and stiff at first but slowly.. he relaxed. His gloved hands hovered awkwardly before finally settling against Feng Xin's coat.

The warmth was... nice. After a long moment, Mu Qing muttered. "If I didn't know better, I'd say you were taking advantage of the situation."

Feng Xin smirked, voice low. "If I was, what would you do about it?"

Mu Qing huffed, rolling his eyes. "I'd throw more snow in your face later." Feng Xin chuckled as his breath warm against Mu Qing's ear. "Fair enough."

For a while, they just stood there.. the snow falling gently around them, the quiet city feeling a little less cold. Right as Mu Qing was about to pull away.. Feng Xin tilted his head down, brushing a soft kiss against Mu Qing's temple.

Mu Qing froze. Feng Xin smirked. "That one was for hitting me in the face."

Mu Qing turned bright red. "Y-You!"

Before he could finish, Feng Xin was already walking away as his hands stuffed in his pockets. Mu Qing clenched his fists and fuming. Despite everything..his lips might have twitched into the smallest smile. "That idiot.."
