Narrator:

Feng Xin sat on the temple steps while unwrapping a chocolate bar with one hand while his other rested on his knee. The night air was crisp and the stars scattered across the sky. A rare peaceful moment..until a certain someone ruined it.

Without warning, Mu Qing leaned down and took a bite of the chocolate. He straightened up as if nothing had happened.

Feng Xin froze as his jaw tightening. "Did you just-"

Mu Qing chewed slowly with eyes half-lidded. β€œHmm. Not bad.”

Feng Xin’s eye twitched. "You little!-"

Before Mu Qing could react, Feng Xin grabbed him by the wrist.. yanked him down and pinned him against the wooden floor. The half melted chocolate still lingered on Mu Qing’s lips.

β€œWhat the hell, Feng Xin?!” Mu Qing glared, his hands pushing against Feng Xin’s chest, but the man didn’t budge.

β€œYou took something from me." Feng Xin said, his voice low. "So I’ll take it back.”

Mu Qing’s smirk wavered. β€œWhat are you gonna d-”

Feng Xin didn’t give him a chance to finish. Leaning in, he tilted his head and bit down right at the corner of Mu Qing’s lips. The stolen chocolate melted between them.. dark and sweet. Their breaths mingled, hot and unsteady.

Mu Qing sucked in a sharp breath, his fingers tightening against Feng Xin’s robe. His heart pounded but he refused to look away. "You’re insane."

Feng Xin licked the chocolate from his lips, his gaze burning. β€œYou’re asking for trouble.”

Mu Qing rolled his eyes but his face was warmer than the night air. β€œTch. If you wanted a kiss, you could’ve just said so.”

Feng Xin scoffed but the corners of his lips twitched. β€œNext time, don’t steal my chocolate.”

Mu Qing huffed. "Whatever."

But he didn’t move from beneath him. And Feng Xin… didn’t let go. Not yet.

Feng Xin could feel Mu Qing’s warm breath against his lips. He should’ve pulled back by now.. should’ve let this damn brat go and walked away. But he didn’t. His hands remained firm on Mu Qing’s wrists and pinning him in place.

Mu Qing had to be difficult. He tilted his head and arching an eyebrow. "So? You just gonna stay there all night?"

Feng Xin scoffed. "You’re acting like you don’t enjoy this."

Mu Qing’s lips parted slightly but he quickly scoffed, looking off to the side. "I enjoy watching you make a fool of yourself. Now, get off me."

Feng Xin leaned in just a little more.. his nose brushing against Mu Qing’s cheek. "Say please first"

Mu Qing’s breath hitched. His pride was a towering wall..the heat between them was undeniable. He tried to keep his voice steady. "Feng Xin, I swear to god.."

"Say. Please."

Mu Qing narrowed his eyes. He should’ve pushed harder but his body refused to move. Instead, he muttered through gritted teeth. "Please."

Feng Xin smile in satisfied. He loosened his grip and before he could fully pull away, Mu Qing suddenly grabbed him by the collar.

"You’re so full of yourself." Mu Qing murmured.. his voice barely above a whisper. And then he kissed him all of the sudden.

It wasn’t sweet. It wasn’t gentle. It was sharp, almost defiant.. the way Mu Qing always was. Their lips pressed together.. a clash of heat and stubbornness. Feng Xin inhaled sharply and his body responded before his brain caught up. His hand slid to Mu Qing’s jaw. His fingers curling against his skin as he deepened the kiss.

Mu Qing let out a small noise of surprise and didn’t pull away. Instead, he tightened his grip on Feng Xin’s collar.. tugging him closer as if daring him to go further.

By the time they finally broke apart, both of them were breathing heavily.

Mu Qing’s lips were slightly swollen.. a smug glint in his eyes. "There. Now we're even."

Feng Xin ran a tongue over his own lips, tasting the lingering sweetness of chocolate and....Mu Qing. "Oh, we’re not even close."

Mu Qing huffed and didn't say anything, still flustered. Feng Xin tilted his head and studying Mu Qing’s flushed face. His lips were still slightly parted..his chest rising and falling a little too quickly. The usual sharpness in his eyes was still there but now something softer.

Feng Xin’s grip loosened but then Mu Qing suddenly hooked a leg around Feng Xin’s waist and flipped their positions in one swift movement.

Feng Xin let out a grunt as his back hit the wooden floor. "The hell-"

Mu Qing straddled him and pinning Feng Xin’s wrists down just like he had been pinned moments ago. "You’re an idiot" Mu Qing muttered.. leaning in close.

Feng Xin’s breath hitched. His pulse pounded in his ears. Mu Qing’s lips brushed against his just for a second before pulling back. "But I guess you’re my idiot."

Feng Xin blinked. His brain short-circuited. "...."

Mu Qing stood up.. dusting himself off like nothing had happened. "I’m taking the rest of your chocolate, by the way."

Feng Xin sat up, completely thrown off. β€œHah?! Like hell you are-”

Too late. Mu Qing was already walking away, biting into the chocolate bar he’d swiped from the ground. He turned his head slightly.. giving Feng Xin one last glance, eyes glinting in the moonlight.

β€œTry and take it back again.. if you dare.”

Feng Xin let out a slow breath while dragging a hand down his face. His lips still tingled. His heart was still racing. "Damn it, Mu Qing..." He knew this wasn’t the last time Mu Qing was going to drive him insane.

He didn’t mind one bit.
