"this is it guys... the semi finals" Oikawa started "we're gonna beat karasuno and go to finals and go up against ushiwaka" I smirked "do your best.." I say "we always do" one of the guys said smiling at me.

the whistle blew and they went onto the court, I sat down on the bench with my hands intertwined with each other

"you nervous?" Sakai asks me "umm.. yeah I guess I am" I give him a half smile "I'm sure we'll do great" he says as he pats my back.

"yeah your right" I smile as I look back onto the court.

third person POV:

Oikawa and Daichi shake hands and the referee flips a coin and it lands on heads meaning karasuno gets to choose if they want to serve or receive, daichi chooses to receive.

"make the first serve a good one, if you mess it up you owe us all ramen after this match" iwaizumi said to oikawa

"I'll take mine with roasted slices of pork" hanamaki added on

"I'll add a side of pot stickers to that" matsukawa says

"so you second and first years want to order?" hanamaki teases

"seriously?"

the third years laughed as Oikawa whined

Seijoh's team chant filled the gymnasium

Oikawa makes his approach and serves the ball over the net

Daichi receives it but not exactly over the net causing a joust between hinata and kindaichi

As expected kindaichi clearly won that and pushes it over the other side of the net but Kageyama comes in with a save

He hits it back up

"nice one Kageyama!" daichi shouted

'Kageyama got the first touch so there will be no quick' kindaichi thought but to his surprise nishinoya comes out and sets the ball up

Asahi comes from behind and lands a bit earring karasuno a point.

Kageyama's up to serve this time. He breaths in and out then makes his approach, luckily he hits it out earning seijoh their first point.

"give it to them iwaizumi!!" y/n shouted from the bench

iwaizumi sends her a smirk and a thumbs up. Iwaizumi serves the ball and asahi receives it but it hovered just above the net.

Kageyama passes the ball on his side of the net and Tanaka smacks it down on the opposing side.

Oikawa thought out loud

Iwaizumi serves the ball over the net. Daichi attempts to receive it but it ricochets off his hands.

Kageyama sets it to Tanaka who spikes but it ends up ricocheting off the blockers hands earning seijoh a chance ball.

Watari passes it to oikawa and he sets it up for kindaichi but to everyone's surprise Kyōtani pushes his way through and dominates the floor with his spike.

But it ends up being out

Kyōtani hands the first set to karasuno.

the second set starts off with asahi serving but he hits it out of bounds meaning seijoh gets first point.

Oikawa's up to serve now "serve us a good one!" someone shouted from the stands

Oikawa serves the ball but hits it out. again.

tsukishima is up to serve now, he makes his approach and barely hits the ball over the net.

iwaizumi jumps in to save the ball, Oikawa sets the ball and Kyōtani comes in with an insane cut shot leaving everyone in shock.

Kindaichi is up to serve, he swings and makes a nice serve but nishinoya receives it to Kageyama who then sets it to hinata.

Hinata spikes it down but iwaizumi saves it; hanamaki steps in passes it to kyotani.

Karasuno sets up a triple block in front of where kyotani is supposed to spike.

Everyone notices that he's gonna be blocked especially Oikawa.

Oikawa was thinking 'if he hits it he'll get blocked'

"maddog bring it back!" Oikawa shouted

Kyotani is a hardheaded person and didn't listen and went full force on the spike and totally got shut down.

"why would you go full swing on that! you idiot!" coach yelled

"a spike doesn't feel as good if it doesn't crush somebody and land for the kill" kyotani argued

karasuno's players looked confused and oikawa just looked really dissatisfied.

"calm down everything will be fine!" y/n shouted

Tanaka receives the ball and Kageyama sets it to hinata.

Hinata spikes it down across the net but hanamaki saves it.

Oikawa jumps in and sets it to Kyotani.

"Maddog!" Oikawa shouts

Kyotani goes for the kill and comes in strong, Kageyama prepares to receive it but fails... miserably.

"Damnit!" Kageyama shouts in frustration

Seijoh ends up taking the second set which makes it a 1-1... a tie, which means this last set is it, this set determines the winner.

Kyotani gets called out and kunimi gets put back in the game.

"falling for the opponents taunt, getting worked up, and self destructing, that's lame!" yahaba shouted at kyotani

"what did you say?" kyotani responded with a harsh tone

y/n heard them arguing and looked their way

yahaba pills on kyotani's jersey and pins him on the wall

"if you mess up this game for our upperclassmen, I'll never forgive you" yahaba said

y/n gets up and goes to approach the two but is stopped by watari "they're fine" she stands back and continues to watch the two

"well well it turns out you do care" kyotani says

yahaba responds with "well you've got that right"

"every point you lose or gain it effects the whole team.. so please lend us your power" yahaba continues

y/n breaths out in relief "guess I worried for nothing" she goes to return back to her seat

the whistle blew and kyotani got subbed in for  kunimi again.

yahaba serves the ball over the net but nishinoya sends it to Kageyama who then sets it to hinata.

instead of doing a spike hinata ends up doing a feint.

Yahaba rushes in to save the ball but fails.

"that little brat" Oikawa says in frustration

it's Oikawa's turn to serve... he makes his approach and smacks the ball with his full force.

WHOOSH!!!

the ball slammed on the floor.. Oikawa landed the most awesome serve!

"nice one oikawa!!" y/n shouted in amazement

'that set right that was fucking deadly' she though to herself

'we can still turn this game around!' y/n thought

she clenched her fists tightly, Sakai noticed that and put a hand on her lap (respectfully!)

"don't worry, they'll turn it around!" Sakai comforted y/n

she nodded her head in agreement then turned to look back at the game.

"I know we will" y/n said

sugawara tosses the ball up in the air and serves it over the net.

iwaizumi gets it and passes it to oikawa who sets it to kyotani.

he spikes it down but Tanaka saves it... with his forehead.

Sugawara goes in to set and everyone else goes in for a synchronized attack.

It looks like hinata is gonna hit it but it ends up being asahi who spikes it over the net.

hanamaki digs the ball up but the ball is heading off the court on the right side.

Oikawa wasn't giving up though and he charged for the ball.

He made eye contact with iwaizumi and pointed at him to let him know that he's going to set it to him.

When Oikawa finally gets to the ball he sends it over to iwaizumi.

Iwaizumi goes in for the hit but is received by daichi... not quite tho. the ball ends up ricocheting off daichi's arms and flew backwards.

"shit!" daichi shouted

Tanaka goes in to save the ball and sends it to asahi.

"c'mon!!" everyone in the stands shouted

asahi manages to spike it from the back row and sends it over the net.

it was going to be close to the net so watari goes in for the save but ends up receiving it to the net.

Everyone thought it was over until kyotani saves it with his right arm and sends it in the air right above the net.

"slam it Kageyama!" daichi shouted

"do it kindaichi!!" y/n shouted at the same time

Kageyama hits the ball but kindaichi manages to block it.

"yeahhh!" y/n and seijoh teammates cheered

sugawara receives it with his face..

"leave this one to me!!" hinata shouted as he charged for the ball

Kageyama rushes in and sets the ball to hinata, he goes in for the spike but at the same time seijoh sets up a triple block.

hinata spikes it and it hits kindaichis hand which goes backwards onto seijohs side of the court.

Oikawa sees that and goes in to save the ball... but it bounces off his hands and goes flying into the other direction and goes out of bounds.

Y/n's POV:

silence... the only thing that was heard was the sound of the ball bouncing for the last time.

'we... lost? no.. we couldn't have.. we didn't...'

my eyes felt heavy, I stood up from the bench and took a look at my team.. they look so defeated....

the sound of the whistle was heard and cheers from karasuno following right after.

'I guess we did lose...'

"let's line up..." iwaizumi says, everyone follows him and lines up.

Sakai, coach and I go to line up right beside them.

"thank you for the game!" everyone shouts in sync.

we go up and shake hands with each other.

I shake kiyoko's hands and give her a half smile. I was trying to keep it all in and pretend i was okay because the second someone asked if I was okay I knew I would burst into tears.

we walk off and huddle up for a talk with coach.

"gentleman.. no matter what I say it will not change the outcome and the sting of defeat is not quickly healed. you're sure to regret some decisions you made but still let me say this and never forget it... all of you fought well."

some of the team burst into tears.. I was still trying to keep it in but seeing them hurt made me feel 1,000 time worse then I already did.

I looked at my team... they looked lifeless... even iwaizumi was crying.

"let's go thank everyone who supported us" Oikawa said

we all follow after him and go in front of the bleachers where people from our school and other schools came to support us.

we like up and bow down "thank you all for coming!" we said in sync

they applaud for seijoh one last time.. I look up and even see some of the students in tears.

everyone was heartbroken.. and when I looked over at Oikawa, he wasn't crying but I could still tell he felt empty inside and that completely crushed me.

"hinata you dumbass!" we all heard Kageyama yell from the other side of the court.

we all looked over at them... damn they looked happy well they did win after all.

everyone started walking away to exit the gymnasium but I stopped Oikawa before he exited.

he turned to look back at me and he couldn't hold back anymore and burst into tears.

"I did my best..." Oikawa said in between breaths

I held my arms out for him and he collapsed into them.

I held him in my arms and his tears dripped onto my shirt "I know.." I said in response

"why wasn't that enough!" he cried in frustration

I combed through his hair but I didn't say nothing.. I couldn't say nothing.

I couldn't.. hold back anymore... tears spilt from eyes and onto the ground.

I held Oikawa tighter "I'm sorry..." I cried into his shirt.

he pulled away and looked into my eyes and as his lifeless eyes made contact with mine he said in a hurt voice "we should go.. can't keep them waiting" I walked up to him and wiped the tears from his eyes.

I nodded my head and I held onto him the whole way back to make sure he knew I was there for him and he wasn't alone.
