GLISTENING DIAMONDS.
066. โ italian plaza fiasco. โ
EVERYONE SEPARATED UPON meeting in front of the museum after everyone had freshened up and changed. Diana had dressed in more comfortable and stylish clothing before grabbing her brown purse, she headed out the door with Mj.
Flash filmed his vlogs, Ned and Betty got professionally sketched before heading out on a boat together, the teachers tried taking pictures and followed tours, and Mj and Diana took turns snapping pictures of each other with pigeons.
Peter smiled at the two, watching Diana walk around Mj as she stood with arms open. Multiple birds sat on her arms, shoulders, and head.
"You look so pretty!" Diana laughed, loud enough for Peter to hear.
Mj only shook her head, hiding her smile as she bowed her head. After a moment, Mj stepped forward, hands grabbing the camera from Diana. "Okay, okay. Your turn now."
Diana only laughed, handing off her bag for Mj to hold while she now posed with pigeons, her smile lighting up the afternoon sky. Peter nodded to himself, turning and sneaking away towards a nearby jewelry shop.
DIANA SKIPPED UP TO PETER as he walked out of a store, "Hey, babe, where'd you go?"
"I had to get something for May. She made me promise to bring her something," Peter answered quickly, hiding the fact that it was a gift for Diana.
"Oh, okay. That makes sense." Diana said softly, opening her mouth to ask what he got but she was interrupted.
Before anyone could say anything else, a man with a bunch of flowers interrupted them, pulling out a couple of roses, and stuck them out in Diana's direction, as he bowed, smiling. "Ah, German? Russian?" He looked at the American, "A rose for the pretty girl."
"Uh," Diana never learned the Italian language during her years of studying a multitude of languages so she struggled to get a response out. She simply shook her head and pulled Peter away, smiling apologetically at the man.
"Woah, look at that," Peter spoke up, crouching to the ground beside the canal. A horde of little crabs came crawling out of the water and onto the side.
Diana frowned, tilting her head as she saw the water retracting into the sewer hole in the street. "What theโ"
Her words were cut off by an explosion of water in the middle of the Great Canal. The sidewalks were flooded, boats were thrown aside, and a large wave surged over the surface of the water.
The gondola in which Ned and Betty were sitting, turned into a speed boat as it rode on the wave. Its front tip burst through a door as it came to a halt on the sidewalk.
Peter immediately rushed forward, helping them get up. Diana ran in the opposite direction and towards Mj who had slipped. Picking her friend up, she pushed her away from the water, "Go, M!"
Mj nodded as an explosion went off. But it wasn't a normal explosion, the water formed into a man-like creature, fully made out of water. "What is that?" She asked, out of breath.
"I don't know," Diana replied, still pushing Mj away.
"What are you doing?" Mj asked again, still holding onto Diana's arm.
"I don't know," she said, still focused on getting Mj out.
"Where's Ned and Peter?"
"I don't know, Mj! Now run!" Diana shouted, stopping any further questions from coming out of the brunette's mouth. Mj nodded and spun around, running the other way.
"Oh my God," Peter gasped as he took Diana's arm and pulled her behind a wall just in time to hide from the incoming attack from the monster.
Diana double tapped the chip in the back of her ear and her black suit covered her body, she looked into Peter's eyes, "Where's your suit?"
"In the hotel," He answered quickly.
"What are you doing?" she asked as Peter slammed his wrists together. Two black bands formed around the bases of his hands and Diana realized they were web-shooters.
He jumped out from behind the wall and shot a string of web at the monster, but it disappeared into the water.
"Did you actually think that would work?!" Diana called frustratedly, pulling out a sonic shock hoping the electricity would do something to the water monster, but before she could throw it, the monster turned away and started moving toward the Rialto Bridge.
"Oh, no, you don't," Peter grumbled under his breath before dashing forward, jumping over the vertical poles in the water like it was nothing.
Diana sighed and looked to her left seeing a pole lying on the ground. She grabbed it and sprinted back before charging forward, using the flexible stick to haul herself to where Peter was.
Peter arrived before the monster and ordered everyone off the bridge, and as he turned around, he was met with a powerful blast of water that smashed him against the ledge.
He was left gasping for air as he spat a mouthful of water onto the street. "Peter!" Diana shouted as she reached him, pulling him off the floor.
"Go find the others, you're notโ" Before he could finish his sentence, a bright, green beam interrupted him. Green lasers continued to hit the monster repeatedly. "Strange?" Peter muttered.
Diana shook her head, "That guy's powers are green, Dr. Strange's are orange, remember?"
Instead of Doctor Strange, a man in a green and gold suit came flying toward the bridge. He wore a glass dome over his head that was filled with glowing smoke. A thick, red cape dangled from his shoulders as his hands summoned green triangles that glowed brightly.
"Who is that?" Peter asked.
"You seriously think I know?" Diana sarcastically asked. Suddenly her phone rang from her pocket that resided in her suit, pulling it out she saw it was the familiar 'No Caller ID' that's called her at least twenty fucking times in the past two days. Declining the call from Nick Fury, she focused back up on the task at hand.
"Excuse me, sir!" Peter shouted. He now had an Italian touristic mask over his face. "Let me help! I can help! I'm really strong and... I'm sticky! She can basically do the same!" He stated, a masquerade mask covering the top half of his face.
"I need you to get away from the canal!" The man responded. He flew off while the water followed him.
