Already entering school, you can make out the voices of your classmates and other students fawning over the new girl. Which you've heard the name many times around you, Lila Rossi. One particular thing that caught your attention was that she was one of your biggest fans along with Adrien's.
You weren't exactly shallow but you liked having people admire you, even if it wasn't very lasting.
As you walked through the school, you saw Adrien up the stairs with another girl, which you assumed was Lila as you've never seen her around before. He looked around awkwardly, having a strained look on his face. He eyed around the school once again and his eyes widened almost hopefully when he caught your gaze. He signaled you to come to his rescue, making you laugh silently as you walked up the stairs.
"Hey, Adrien." You greeted, placing your hand on his shoulder. He looked at you, thankful, as he sent you a big smile. "Hey, Y/n. Glad you're here."
The girl was eerily quiet as she analyzed the conversation you had with the blonde. Nonetheless, you extended out your hand for a handshake, "The names Y/n. What's yours?"
"Lila, Lila Rossi." She introduced herself, a glint in her eyes as she gave you a sly look.
You now understood why the blonde was so uncomfortable. Despite her gorgeous face, she held an intimidating look; like of a snake or rather of a fox. Next thing you knew, she approached you with her left arm wrapped around your arm and her right hand on Adrien's wrist, leading you both towards the library.
"This is my first time seeing in actress outside Hollywood, you know?" She smiled, placing her belongings on the table she led you both at the library.
You only nodded sheepishly as you took a seat.
Adrien smiled nervously as he grabbed his bag slightly closer to him. When Lila left, he lifted it up at the table and opened it to take a big book out. "Psst!" He whispered, making your head perk up at him. He opened the book up when he caught your attention, flipping through it. Not just your or Ladybug's miraculous were shown, but many others too. Your eyes widened as he continued examining through it and you grabbed his hand to stop him from moving further.
"Why do you have this?" You quirk a brow at him, looking at him with such scrutiny.
"Well my father had something hidden behind a portrait and I... was curious." He admitted, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly. Upon hearing footsteps, Adrien quickly placed a book on top of it to hide it away from Lila.
"Now three of us can get working on that history homework together. It's so much more fun doing it all together, don't you guys think?" She leaned closer to the both of you, making Adrien lean backwards that it made the book more visible; catching her attention. "What's that?"
Adrien was absolutely speechless, so you spoke on his behalf, "It was a gift from his father. Adrien loves superheroes."
She hummed sweetly as she placed her hand over his, "I also love superheroes."
She took the opportunity to gaze over the book, flipping through the pages to see the heroes in it. She stopped particularly on the Ladybug drawn page, gasping slightly at the sight.
"Ladybug..." You both muttered simultaneously, though for completely different reasons. Meanwhile you muttered in admiration, she muttered in recognition.
"She's a good heroine." You added, smiling at no one in particular. Adrien nodded in agreement, you both unknowingly angering the green-eyed brunette, "A girl doesn't need powers to be a good heroine, you know?"
You cleared your throat, contemplating whether you should reply to her comment. She later brought her chair closer between you guys.
"You know, I happen to be really close friends with Ladybug." Your jaw went slack in disbelief. Ladybug would've had mentioned her to you at least once but she didn't. Wasn't that a little suspicious?Nonetheless, you still gave her your full attention. "Is that so?" She nodded as she smiled, "Why don't we three talk more about it? Not here though. Let's meet at the park after school."
You didn't trust her but you did believe you should go, in case she was telling the truth. "Uh, sure. Why not?"
Adrien nodded in responding to the suggestion. His phone randomly ringed, alerting him to go to his fencing class. As he got up to leave, he hurriedly packed his belongings and headed out the door, leaving you and the sly brunette behind.
โ
After the whole library incident, the minutes passed rather quickly as your classes finished. Now you just had to pass through the park to visit the alleged close friend of your partner, Ladybug.
When you got there, Adrien was already there; slightly fidgeting on the bench.
She made sure she sat in between, like she had previously done the last time and is currently doing now. You sent them both a small greeting as you took a seat.
"So, you know Ladybug. For real?" Adrien asked.
"Not only did Ladybug save my life, we've became really close friends. Because we have something very special in commonโ it's what I wanted to tell you both about. I'm the descendant of a vixen superhero myself, Volpina." She explained, adding more to her story about Ladybug.
She made the necklace hidden beneath her shirt more visible, showing it to you both.
"Wait a minute! I think I've read about her in my book." The green eyed boy exclaimed, reaching for his bag.
Before he could grab the book from it, Lila grabbed his hands; halting him from reaching for it.
"Of course, she's in there. She's one of the most important superheroes. More powerful and celebrated than Ladybug," She started, pausing to further emphasize her words, "Between you and me, Ladybug doesn't even make the top ten."
She eyed the necklace once again, "My grandma gave me this necklace."
Adrien watched it in awe as he leaned over to grab the necklace slightly closer to him, "You're telling me this is a miraculous?" She hummed her response to his curiosity.
Suddenly, Ladybug appeared in front of you three. Startling all of you.
"Hey, Lila. How's it going? Long time no see. I saw your interview on the Ladyblog. Awesome job! Sure, I remember our "instant connection" when I saved your lifeโ and we've been good friends ever since, practically BFF's." She falsely smiled, lying through her teeth, "Actually when did I save your life? I don't recall. Oh, yes! Of course, now I remember. Never! We're not even friends!"
You felt bad, if you were on her shoes; you'd want the bench to swallow you whole to avoid the embarrassment caused from you getting caught on your act.
"Miss Show-Off here was trying to impress you both and everyone around her."
"I'm guessing you're not really a descendant of a superhero either?" Adrien asked, completely oblivious to the whole situation.
Ladybug grimaced, "She's more like a super-liar."
"How dare you?!" Lila cried out, grabbing her things and ran away from you guys.
Social cues wasn't one of Adrien's strongest aspect, but he triedโ and really tried as he ran after her, trying the best of his abilities to keep her from getting akumatized to which you really appreciated.
You on the other hand, stayed alongside the polka dotted heroine.
"Was there a reason you did all that? Couldn't you have confronted her in a more of a lesser hostile manner or where there weren't any people?" You interrogated.
Ladybug only huffed an ashamed breath, crossing her arms over her chest with the little pride she felt at the moment, "I...I don't put up with lies, especially when they're about me."
You only let out a sharp intake of air as she flew away from the scene, leaving you alone. You decided to leave the rest on Adrien's shoulders and left to go back home.
โ
You were sure you were imagining things. Why would a meteor suddenly strike and possibly cause a massive explosionโ destroying everyone along? Against your own personal judgment, you called out for your transformation, "Plagg claws out!"
After your transformation, you landed near where the meteor was spotted, though upon landing somewhat close to the meteor; it was handled by a sudden new appearance of a heroine. Effortlessly landing back to a building, she announced herself to the crowd.
"I am Volpina, the only superhero Paris needs!" Is she really discrediting both you and Ladybug? After all the times you guys saved all their asses, what a joke.
The same crowd cheered for the new sudden heroine, thankful that she'd prevented another tragedy.
"Volpina, huh?" You murmured to yourself, already disliking her slightly. She was cocky, you knew you were too; but it was only acceptable when you did it. Wait! Didn't Lila mentioned that same name before? Maybe she was telling the truth or maybe Adrien failed miserably in comforting her and got akumatized whatsoever.
Ladybug soon appeared beside you, halting your inner monologue. "Volpina?" She inquired, her face twisted in confusion.
"Another partner wouldn't hurt, would it?"
She scoffed, "Don't you think it's weird, this superhero just appearing out of nowhere?" She mumbled out thoughtfully.
"Well, maybe. But she at least did some of the work for us?" You shrugged.
Your comment only seemed to annoy the already annoyed girl. "I could've easily stopped that meteorite myself."
"I know you could've but it's great to have another partner. Y'know? It'll remove some pressure off our backs. Though I promise I'll always prefer you." You winked, trying to best of your ability to calm her down. It seemed like today, she's been uncharacteristically angered the whole day.
She only sighed an agonizing sigh before nodding in agreement.
The new heroine appeared in front of you two, seemingly unaware of Ladybugs distaste for her, "Hey guys! Glad you dropped in, I need a hand. Come on," She commanded, flying away afterwards.
Against your better judgment, you both followed after her. Darting your eyes to the ladybug themed heroine, she watched the new appearing heroine with such scrutiny that it made you slightly amused. Though your amusement turned to shook at the sight you're seeing, "Hawkmoth? Is that really him?"
Hawkmoth remained unmoving on the top of the rooftop of the building he was standing on; unaware that you three had caught a glimpse of him.
"He never shows up. Something big is going on, really big!" Ladybug said, looking over at you momentarily before looking back at Hawkmoth.
"We can take him down, but it's gonna take all three of us. We better make the most of our individual talents." Volpina informed, eyeing you specifically.
"Okay, got it." You nodded.
"By the way, it's very nice to meet you, Chatรณn Noire. Cool outfit!" She complimented, giving you a toothy grin.
"Oh, thanks. You have a cool outfit too," You gave her a thankful thumbs up, avoiding her gaze.
Ladybug grimaced at your interaction with her though got up to look over at Hawkmoth once again, "First the meteorite, now Hawkmoth appearing, both on the same day? Don't you think it's a little bit unusual?"
"Why would you say that?" Volpina inquired.
"I was asking Chatรณn Noire." Ladybug spat out, her eyes squinted with disgust.
"Woah, okay. Is there something wrong or something?" You interrogated, eyeing her with concern.
"I'm fine, just fine." She replied, raising her hand dismissively. Walking towards the fox heroine, she glared at her, "Say, Volpina. What's your miraculous?"
"My necklace."
"What power does it give you?"
"The power of flight and super strength."
You cleared your throat to somehow make the atmosphere less hostile than it is now, "That's cool. I mean, two powers? Wow."
Volpina sent you a smirk in return.
Suddenly, Volpina alerted you both that Hawk Moth was getting away; making you all follow him around. Volpina seemed to take the lead as she ordered you both, "Ladybug, take the left. Chatรณn Noire, you take the right. I'll come from behind."
"No! I'll go right. Chatรณn Noire from behind, and you'll... take the left." Ladybug corrected, avoiding her gaze.
Volpina giggled menacingly, "Fine. Makes absolutely no difference to me."
"Good."
At that, she jumped away from you both. Your eyes darted toward the annoyed heroine.
"You know I trust you more than anything, but for now, let's act with our heads rather than acting on impulse." You sighed, extending your staff to find Hawkmoth before she could reply.
You didn't trust the new heroine, but you were meant to save Paris. If you couldn't trust new-coming heroes, then why would you be entrusted with saving the city?
โ
After Ladybug informed you that someone was akumatized to Volpina, or rather Lila was akumatized to Volpina, you eventually reached to the conclusion that Volpina would possibly head for Adrien or you. You believed that she seemed rather interested more in Adrien than she was with you, so you concluded that she would pass for him.
Reaching over to his house, you already see Volpina there. Though you hid so she wouldn't notice you overhearing their conversation.
"Sorry I didn't show you the truth earlier, Ladybug just had to disrupt our... conversation." Volpina explained.
Just then, Ladybug showed up. Before she could make a loud entrance, you grabbed her wrist and gave her a "shhh" motion to keep quiet and continue overhearing their conversation.
"I tried showing Y/n first, but she wasn't anywhere to be seen at her house." How the hell did she have your address?
You felt the heroine beside you slightly tense in what you believed was anger, "She was aiming for Y/n first?" She whispered.
Before you could respond, Ladybug rudely interrupted her speech to Adrien.
"See what I mean? She's jealous! Of me, of us, but this time you aren't going to ruin our date, Ladybug!" Volpina raged, glaring at her.
"Hm, excuse me, but it wasn't really quite a date, per se. I meanโ what I meant was, it could become one, right? No need to get bent out of shape!" Adrien reasoned. His social cues never will ever be his strongest attribute.
You sent him a skeptical look, telling him to stop worsening the already worsen situation. He took the matter in his own hands and hid himself on his bathroom; not something you'd encourage him to do but it's alright.
"You! Stop thinking your illusions are reality!"
After a few moments of fighting, Volpina used her flute to make more illusions. This specific illusion made it rather difficult to hit her actual self as she created multiple clones of herself. As you guys were trying to aim for the actual one, Volpina already had made way to the Eiffel Tower. Adrien seemed to be caught as she took him with her.
"She's taken Adrien!" Ladybug warned.
"You go ahead, I'll check the bathroom." She gave you a questioning look at your words, "I saw him enter it when you were busy with Volpina."
She hesitantly nodded as she wrapped her y0-yo on a building to follow the fox villainess. You ran towards the bathroom, checking to see if the blonde was still there. "Adrien?" You called out. He immediately stepped out of the shower; opening the curtains to show you his face. Letting out a sigh of relief, you gave him a small smile.
"Stay here, I'll come back for you." You ordered, and you ran out the window to follow after the heroine and the illusionist villainess.
Once you reached the top of the tower, Volpina taunted Ladybug by slowly releasing the illusion version of Adrien by each finger; making the threat of letting him fall more dramatic. In response, Ladybug fell to her knees in defeat as she reached for her earrings. You grabbed your staff, throwing it to where the illusion was at and it disappeared shortly afterwards.
The real Volpina eventually came out and went to the top of the tower. When you guys followed her up, you met a bunch of her clones once again. To not do a repeat of the last time, Ladybug called out for her lucky charm; getting a chocolate popsicle from it. A light released from it, making her eyes squeeze shut in response as she let out a small gasp in realization.
"I think I've got an idea to take out Volpina," Ladybug informed. You only nodded, activating your cataclysm.
Ladybug soon aimed the wrapped from the popsicle at the many Volpina's, which seemed to have one reacting to it and it gave you the answer to who it really was. You pressed your hand against the metal to create a sort of cage, trapping her.
"Trapped! Like a fox." Ladybug poked fun at her. She walked over to her, grabbing her necklace to destroy it; resulting the akuma to get released from it.
Ladybug did her usual thing, grabbing the akuma and purifying it back to normal. The ladybugs returned back to normal, thus de-akumatizing the brunette.
Ladybug walked towards her, crouching down to meet her eye level, "I totally overreacted earlier and never should've spoken to you like that. I'm sorry.."
"Forget it, Ladybug. You were right. We'll never be friends," Lila spat out, glaring at her as she pushed Ladybug's arm away from her shoulder. She walked away, taking her necklace with her.
"Ouch."
Ladybug huffed a small breath as she got up, "Where's Adrien?"
"He was at the bathroom. I made sure to check on him before... everything. He'll be okay and we're about to de-transform." You explained, warning her that she was going to de-transform back before she could check on him.
She only nodded, accepting your response. "Okay. I'll see you soon, kitty."
โ
Once you entered back to your house, you received a message from Adrien, saying that he lost the same book he showed you this morning and that he was worried what he'll tell his father. You pursed your lips in thought, you would encourage him to lie but he's an obedient child; he wouldn't do such thing.

Throwing your phone on your desk, you threw yourself in the bed. What's so important about this book to his father? You should've taken some photos at least.
