"by law, your father, sano 'mikey' manjiro."
and just like that, the picture almost began to focus and she could clearly make out his striking features. his face was not smiling nor was it frowning, but it was between neutral. tousled, pale blond hair framed his face, but what caught her attention the most was the dark pool of abyss in his bored eyes that bore her in to stare absentmindedly at his captivating face.
he was a handsome being there was no lie, blessed from the heavens with his prominently charming characteristics. her frown began to die down as she quietly looked fixedly, eyes wide with mesmerisation.
"hmm?"
comical question marks popped up all over her.
'what did you just say?'
she whipped her face towards kakucho's, staring at him inquiringly, long lashes fluttering with curiosity.
"sano 'mikey' manjiro."
kakucho repeated as he grinned, amusement written all over his face at her bemused expression. fever burnt his cheeks coral at her endearing nature and without any self restraint, his hand found its way on her head and ruffled her soft, short tresses.
himawari's heart dropped to her ass.
'no way... he really does have the same name as the criminal from that book. ugh.'
"and your name princess, is sano himawari."
kakucho informed with a closed eye smile as a fluffy aura bloomed around him at mentioning his only alive, favourite person's name.
"oahh?"
himawari gurgled, clearly still in denial as she sweat dropped at her unfavourable situation.
'and i really have the same name as the child from the book...?'
"princess, you are my king's precious daughter."
kakucho spoke gently with a relaxed posture as a tranquil ambiance blanketed them.
'whoa...it's uncanny how identical things are. and how annoying...
is it just me though?
why am i getting shivers down my spine? haha...'

let's see... how did that fanfic go?
"๐ฒ๐ด๐ญ๐ฅ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ค๐ฑ ๐ข๐ง๐จ๐ซ๐ฃ" is a platonic, angst fanfic that was a big hit online for the tr fandom. like the title suggests, there's a child in the book, who's the supporting protagonist.
the story was just trauma dump after trauma dump, and it was what some readers seemed to find comfort in, something about how the life of a neglected child written in first person had seemed to be relatable or so.
but the main point of the story was to exemplify mikey's solitariness through himawari's point of view. mikey's trauma was seen as the most severe, he was seen as someone who was gravely mentally ill.
contrary to the readers who felt as if they were being melodramatic to their melancholy, and how they referred to it as 'the slightest of inconvenience' that life had riddled them with. perhaps the writer of the fanfic hadn't wanted them to invalidate their sorrow.
or perhaps the writer had just wanted the audience to feel pity for mikey and his weakness just as how himawari's pov seemed to be portrayed. it received a mixed range of reactions from them, some feeling sympathetic towards mikey and some completely disliking himawari for how she was depicted.
"eww uupid."
himawari furrowed her almost non existent brows in exasperation as she bit and pulled on the thin blanket placed over her.
'those bastards!! on the other hand, what about the suffering of the child...?!'
himawari inwardly disputed valid points with an irk mark as she chewed with her gums, she was teething at her big age.
anyway, back to the backstory, himawari was legally mikey's ward, and her existence was informed to mikey the moment she was born. but, he neglects the child and leaves her in the orphanage. due to that, himawari grew up to be scorned, and so as a fragile child, she was always on edge.
the first time she ever sees mikey is on two days before her 8th birthday. led by the lights and noise of motorbikes, himawari leaves the orphanage late at night and finds herself walking towards a local convenience store.
where she meets mikey, who walked right past her, uninterested after having seen her.
but to a girl like himawari who's never received any sort of affection, she had deemed this as quite the fateful encounter. and so she tries with all her might to be loved by her father... thus growing up into a beauty with both skill and grace.
and on the day of himawari's 12th birthday, that's when everything went downhill.
himawari, with her despondent and reticent disposition, and mikey, a solitary misanthropist.
perhaps it was inevitable that two moons were never in harmony. perhaps that malady was a blessing in disguise, separating the two dissonance, the mutely altercating souls.
'himawari was a really nice girl, it's just that she has no value as a character.'
instead of holding hostility towards those who've wronged her, she pitifully accepted the criticism in fear of enraging her father.
'ah, you dummy. you should've looked out for yourself!'
himawari clenched her stubby fist in irritation at the display of said child.
she loses the very thing she ever wanted to her incurable illness, her father's love. well, i supposed you can't lose what you never had.
on top of everything, this poor child gets killed by her own father. accused of leading the group of bonten traitors behind closed curtains.
she was framed, of course. the actual leading man was behind it all. an elaborate scheme to use himawari's possible anger towards mikey as a scapegoat.
which was unnecessary since himawari was destined to die at a young age and mikey would've probably preferred it if she had suffered a long and painful death at the hands of her sickness, rather than something quick and easy.
on the contrary, if she knew of the traitor, she would have gladly soiled her innocent hands to save her father. because if something bad happened to bonten, it would have gravely effected him some way.
as you can see, himawari was a poor, naively foolish child.
the leader of the supposed 'coup d'รฉtat' must have simply intended to have her confined or have mikey completely drop his custody and abandon her wherever seemed fit...
but manjiro cannot be underestimated.
he killed himawari before she was found guilty. it was her 12th birthday, just after 4 years after she met him for the first time.
eventually the truth was revealed just after the subordinates, more commonly known as 'fish bates', where found, grandly tortured and mercilessly shot by mikey's mad dog. but manjiro, remained indifferent, he never felt an ounce of guilt nor regret on killing his daughter.
the fanfic then stopped updating after having lost the viewers interest, simply due to the fact that the supposed 'side charcater' himawari, who received an uncountable amount of hate, from these same readers, for having the most 'blasรฉ charcater ever' was no longer being abused by her father.
though of course no one would outwardly announce it, after her death, the story was basically just nothing. i mean, how did an empty marionette like manjiro evoke curiosity to a reader?
bonten mikey was just an ethereally, emotionless porcelain doll, nothing more, nothing less. he was just a blanc canvas with a coat of varnish applied to it, nothing would be found beneath the layers, because he was simply hollow.
'i don't get why himawari had to die such a meaningless death.'
"awoo."
himawari blew a raspberry in annoyance, her hands never leaving kakucho's expensive watch.
'pisses me off again thinking about it.'
her brows furrowed at the incoming headache of remembering a fan comment saying something along the lines of
'it's all to exaggerate the tyrant dad's philophobia and his fear of abandonment from someone he loves!'
what a load of crap from a diehard fan. โง
'well it's not like i really liked himawari, but... she's somewhat better than mikey and bonten, though. i could care less what happens to the other people in this world as long as i'm happy...
but i just can't stand by and watch.
why, you may ask?'
himawari was sat up, her back bending slightly forward in deep thought. though we could not see the child's countenance, anyone, and i mean if anyone was able to see the child's back, they could see it, they definitely could.
the back of a baby in anguish.
once again, episode two of himawari's mental breakdown has been aired live.
'because it seems i've become that very himawari, that's why!'
himawari's tears unleashed like the niagara falls, but with every droplet of salty clear liquid secreting from her lacrimal glands, her hand, yes her hand, remained resilient and never left the opulent wristwatch.
"waaaaa!!!!"
"p-princess! what's wrong?!"
