The topic had been adjourned and you two talked about different things throughout the evening. You had the habit of adding more things to a conversation that leads to endless talking, and it didn't help either that Amari was the same.

It was only until Amari's vision blurred due to her feeling sleepy and her eyes being watery, she doesn't even know how many times she had yawned ever since you called her.

like you were tucking yourself in bed.

You laid on your side before ending the call, you plopped your phone down on the bed sheet, the brightness suddenly disappearing.

As you stared into darkness, you could feel a knot of uneasiness starting to form in the pit of your stomach. You closed your eyes shut, as tight as you could, because you felt the drowsiness you were feeling earlier slip away due to you overthinking what tomorrow's event could offer.

And though you expected what outcome would most likely occur, you didn't have it in you to accept it.
