TW~Crash, injury, blood and reckless driving.

Y/N'S POV

Me and Chris are going to see his mom and dad today since our son Grayson wants to see them and spend a few nights there, so that me, Chris, Matt and Nick can fly out and meet Sam and Colby at the Farrar School.

I put our bags and Grayson's backpack in the trunk of the car, as Chris carries Grayson and straps him into his car seat, before tickling his tummy, causing the four year old boy to squeal in shock and delight, pushing away his father's hands.

"Chris, you'll make him hyper and give your mom and dad and headache!" I scold, hitting his arm, as he gets into the passenger seat.

"Hey!" He rubs his arm, putting his seatbelt on. "My mom and dad love him regardless of how hyper he is."

I start the car, then we leave the house, going to the airport, ready for our flight from LA to Boston.

Chris turns around in his seat occasionally to tickle Grayson again or to give him a snack, since it was a fairly long drive to the airport.

"Mama, are we there yet?" Grayson asks, whining out of pure boredom, making Chris laugh.

"About another twenty minutes Gray." I reply, stopping at a traffic light, thank God the roads weren't busy today.

"That car is coming quick behind us." Chris says, looking through the back window of the car.

He's right, it's a 40mph road and he's going at 70mph minium. It's definitely got to be a drunk driver, but right now Grayson is most at risk.

"Chris put Grayson in your lap, but we all need to brace ourselves, by the time I start the car to move, it would have hit us already."

Chris nods, unbuckling Grayson, and he manages to cover him in his lap quick enough, then the car collides with the back of our car, sending us crashing over the road.

The car crashes into a lamppost, and the last thing I hear is Grayson crying, before everything goes black.

Chris' POV

I groan from the impact, rubbing my head, which is now bleeding as Grayson cried and screams in distress.

"Shhh, shhh it's alright buddy, daddy's here." I reassure, kissing his head gently, luckily he only has a few bruises.

"Y/N? Y/N?!" I panic, seeing her unconscious, the steering wheel pointing downwards jabbing her leg, which is pretty bruised and a bit mangled.

Grayson cried more, trying to climb into her arms, but I hold him on my lap, grabbing my phone to call for help.

"It's alright Gray, mama just fell asleep, that's all." I say, running my fingers through his hair and calling the police and ambulance.

"Hello sir, what's the emergency? The operator asks, as I get out of the car, sitting by the wreckage, Grayson still in my lap.

"There was...a reckless driver and he hit the back of our car, me, my girlfriend and our four year old son were in our car when it happened. Me and my son are just scratched up and bruised, but my girlfriend is unconscious and the steering wheel is like crushed onto her left leg, it's dislocated and mangled." I state, keeping Grayson calm in my lap as he tries to get to Y/N.

"Okay sir, what's your location, we'll get emergency services there as quick as possible." The operator reassures, making me look around for road signs.

"(Random street name), by the airport." I state, and the operator stays on the line until the ambulance and police arrive.

The road is closed off, and Grayson becomes more fussy at all of the commotion. One of the police officers puts our bags by us, as I call Matt and Nick, stating what's happened and that the video will be delayed, so then they call Sam and Colby telling them the situation.

Eventually, they manage to get Y/N out of the wreckage and into the ambulance. I go to the ambulance, but the polices officers stop me, needing to ask a few questions.

As they finish the interrogation, one of the officers speak up again.

"Sir we'd recommend going to a nearby hotel for now, somewhere where you can out your bags down and calm your son down, as your girlfriend will most likely need surgery, and a distressed toddler waiting in hospital may be worse. We're able to book one for you if need be." I think about the offer and realise it will be better, as the hospital will call us when Y/N is out of surgery.

"Okay, thanks." I reply, before the police officers help load the bags in the back of the police car, giving us a lift to the hotel.

I cuddle Grayson close to me, and it's clear he's distressed, needing his mother, but I wish I was in that place instead of her, she's better at calming Grayson down than me.

"Daddy? Is mama still asleep?" He asks, looking up at me with those big eyes, full of fear and uncertainty.

"Yeah, she's sleeping still, we'll see her when she wakes up, I promise. Okay?" I reassure, trying not to scare him more by saying she's in hospital having surgery to save her leg.

"Okay daddy." I grab our bags, thanking the officers for the ride to the hotel, then check in, going up to the room.

It's a nice room, a single bed for Grayson and a double bed for me, for now, until Y/N is discharged from hospital.

I sit Grayson down on the single bed, putting our bags on the chair in the corner of the room, setting some of his toys on the bed and then putting a cartoon on the TV, which instantly makes his eyes light up as he plays with his toys.

I constantly worry about Y/N being in surgery, and the thought of something going wrong or her losing her leg plagues my mind like a disease, but thankfully Grayson is keeping me distracted by making me play with his toy cars.

The ringtone of my phone cuts through the air and snaps me out of my time with Grayson.

"Hello?" I hear the soft clicking of keyboards in the background, before someone speaks.

"Hi, it's (hospital name), your girlfriend is out of surgery, but is still asleep, you're able to come and see her now." The kind woman states, and I immediately pick me car keys up.

"We'll be right there, thank you." I hang up, and explain to Grayson that we can go and see Y/N and he babbles happily, holding his arms out, wanting to be picked up.

I hold him on my hip, locking the hotel room, then heading to the bus stop, since we don't have a car.

The bus trip is fairly boring, my mind racing with worries and Grayson points to trees and cars, babbling to himself or trying to reach my chain, which makes me laugh.

Finally, we reach the hospital and I head to the front desk.

"Hi, how can I help?" The receptionist asks, a kind, reassuring smile on his face.

"My girlfriend was bought in for emergency surgery after a car crash." I state and his eyes go wide, before regaining composure and looking at his computer to find the room number.

"Her room is 201, a nurse will come and escort you to give you update of the surgery." He replies, beckoning a nearby nurse over, who gestures for me to follow her, which I do.

"So, the surgery went well, her leg was able to be saved, but there's lots of stitches and metal plates, she'll need physiotherapy when sees recovered. She should be awake now." I nod along to the shared information, Grayson fussing on my hip, as I rub his back to keep him calm.

The nurse enters first to check Y/N over, but she's pretty out of it, then me and Grayson enter.

"Hey baby, how are you feeling?" I ask, standing by her bed, causing Grayson to babble, reaching for her.

She rubs her head, looking confused and dazed.

"W-who are you?"
