โข LAXUS' POV โข
"Water Wave!" Kairius motions his hand upward, sending a wave of water to collide with my lightning dragon's roar. A water wizard. This might prove to be a little more difficult than I originally thought.
Now:
โข LUCY'S POV โข
"Uh oh, Thunder Cheeks might have a hard time with this match," Callista says, making me burst out laughing.
"First of all, don't call Laxus that to his face," I tell her. "And second, Laxus is one of the strongest wizards I know. Have a little faith."
"Lightning Dragon's Heavenward Halberd!" Laxus yelled as he threw a spear made of lightning at his opponent.
"Water Dragon!" Kairius exclaimed, motioning his fist upwards. A blue magic circle appeared in front of him, a large Chinese dragon made of water soon coming out of it. Kairius motioned his hand towards the spear of lightning coming towards his way. The dragon follows the command, intercepting the spear and defusing the lightning magic, though the dragon seemed unaffected due to it being made of water.
Laxus seemed to be irked that his opponent didn't move. Laxus then removed his jacket, setting it off to the side. He then ran towards his opponent with his fist guiding him. "Lightning Dragon's Iron Fist!" His fist is consumed by lightning, increasing the damage of his attack.
Kairius seemed unimpressed as he moved his hand towards the lightning dragon slayer. The water dragon followed the command and launched towards Laxus, colliding with him, pushing him off to the side.
I simply growled. "Lulu, you okay?" Callista asked me, diverting her gaze away from the match.
"He's not even fighting Laxus himself. He's just making his dragon do all the work while he doesn't even move from his spot," I scoffed in disgust. At least I fight alongside my spirits.
"Maybe Lulu should have some faith in Thunder Cheeks," Callista told me, mocking me from earlier.
I giggled and I nod towards her. "You're right." I face back towards the match and I cup my hands around my mouth. "YOU BETTER NOT LOSE THUNDER CHEEKS!" I yelled as loud as I could, cheering Laxus on even though he might not hear me.
โข STING'S POV โข
"YOU BETTER NOT LOSE THUNDER CHEEKS!" I immediately burst out laughing at the name Laxus was just called. My guildmates look at me with confused expressions as we were on Sabertooth's balcony watching the match.
"Sting? Are you okay?" Lector asked me as he stood on the stone railing.
"Yeah. Just heard something funny," I replied before facing back to the match. Man, I really wanna meet whoever said that.
โข LUCY'S POV โข
"Lightning Dragon's Breakdown Fist!" Laxus pulled his arm back then pushed the air, launch a fist of lightning toward the water wizard.
Kairius simply responded by lifting his hand up towards the incoming lightning fist. The dragon obeyed its master's command, intercepting the thundering fist before it made impact on its target.
"Unbelievable..." I mutter under my breath. I could tell the crowd was also getting a little bored at the fact that there was no real battle. I mean, he's fighting against Laxus Dreyar of Fairy Tail but he's just standing, letting his dragon take all the blows and lunging to attack every once in a while.
"Come on Laxus! Take him out already!" My head instantly snaps towards the location the voice was heard. Natsu was leaning over the railing of the Fairy Tail balcony, yelling at Laxus to stop messing around. It was pretty easy to hear him. One, because the audience wasn't really enjoying the match and they were just kind of muttering or being silent. And two, because it's Natsu. He's just naturally loud.
"Alright! I wanted to give the audience a show, but I guess I'll just have to take you out now," Laxus tells his opponent as he lifts his fist up to the sky. "Resounding through the air, the roar of thunder, plunge from the heavens, and reap destruction!" A ball of lightning increases in power with every word he says. "RAGING BOLT!" Laxus brings his fist down and launches the lightning ball towards the opposing mage.
The ball hurled towards the mage at full speed as the dragon tried neutralizing it, though it could only slowly chip away at it. Before Kairius could finally realize he had to move, it was too late. The ball made of lightning made a direct hit.
The Splitforce wizard was pushed back as he groaned in pain. His waiter dragon dispersed into water drops that fell to the ground. He probably didn't have the magic to keep it alive. "Seems I have to be serious as well," Kairius simply said as he stood up straighter. "Water Vapor." His body turned into a mist, looking all most invisible.
"What he do?" Callista asked me as I observed the battle.
"In water vapor, he turned into a mist. While in this form, he's almost invisible, though not completely. He also can't take any damage or deal any damage. It's honestly a pretty cheap tactic to get a tie," I explained. This battle was not worth the hype, nor the skills of one of Fairy Tail's best.
Laxus stood still calmy, observing his surroundings, looking for his opponent. I observed with him to look for the water wizard until I see a faint mist behind Laxus.
"LAXUS! BEHIND YOU!" I yelled as I cupped my hands around my mouth, though I wasn't sure if Laxus could hear me. He should at least hear something. He's a dragon slayer afterall.
I obviously wanted Fairy Tail to win, so I figured I'd help. No, it's not cheating. I think.
As if Laxus heard me, he turned around to find Kairius behind him to through a direct punch to the face, causing Laxus to stumble backward. Kairius then turned back into mist quickly, moving behind Laxus again. He quickly turned back to normal to throw 2 punches to the face and a kick to the gut. He instantly turned to mist as quickly as he appeared.
"Man, this guy's throwing cheap shots," Callista whined. I could tell she was really wanting to see a real Fairy Tail 1 vs 1 battle.
"So far, he's never actually took Laxus on in a real 1 vs 1," I sighed as I watched Kairius carry on with that cheap tactic of his. Laxus never gave into his weak punches though. They honestly barely made a scratch. At this rate, it'll end up another tie. "First, his dragon fought for him, and now, Laxus doesn't even fight back."
"HURRY UP AND TAKE HIM DOWN!" I hear another familiar voice yell over the near-silent crowd. I look over to the Fairy Tail balcony and see Gray near the balcony next to Natsu and Erza. I could tell Natsu was getting bored with the battle and Gray was frustrated with the man's cheap tactic.
"Yeah, yeah. Don't rush me," Laxus grumbled as he caught the fist of the water mage, who just tried striking again, with his own left hand. He smirked at the opponent who was shocked at his fist being caught. "My turn." He pulled his unoccupied hand back into a fist, ready for an attack. "Lightning Dragon's Iron Fist!" He launches his fist into his opponent's face while releasing Kairius' fist from his grasp, launching the water mage into in the wall of the arena.
The crowd finally cheers that they're getting a real fight. "Lightning Dragon's Roar!" Laxus yelled as a bright streak of lightning launched out of his mouth, following after the water mage into the wall.
"Yeah! Get him!" Callista cheers Laxus on as pummels the water wizard.
"Water Lock!" Kairius yelled, trapping Laxus' head in a bubble of water. It's like Juvia's water lock, but it seemed to only surround his head instead of his whole body.
Laxus immediately stopped the constant attack, as he couldn't breathe due to the water filling his lungs.
Laxus scrambled around, reaching for his neck as if he were choking, but the water lock wouldn't move.
"Stop! He'll drown!" I yelled, but not loud enough. Laxus continued struggling as he tried moving away from the water, but it just followed wherever his head went. He couldn't escape drowning.
The water wizard just watched as his opponent struggled to breathe, slowly inching closer to his death.
"STOP IT!" I boomed as I gripped onto the statue I sat on, making the stone crack slightly. My voice was so loud that I could feel the ground shake, but it was probably my imagination.
"Laxus! Hold in there!" Natsu yelled from the balcony he stood on. Fairy Tail stared as Laxus slowly started losing consciousness.
"Kairius... What a disgusting excuse for a wizard," Gajeel grumbled, referring to the Splitforce competitor who held one of Fairy Tail's guild members in a water prison.
"You're not allowed to die! You hear me?!" Makarov yelled from the sidelines as he was forced to watch his grandson kneel in the arena helplessly.
* DING DING DING *
"The match is over! It seems Laxus is still conscious, nor did he surrender! Which means this match is another tie, kabo!" Mato exclaimed as the crowd started to mumble. We all knew how they wanted a fight, but no one wanted someone to die.
Kairius released Laxus from his prison, unsatisfied with the results of the match. He then walked away, leaving Laxus as he gasped for air. The Fairy Tail team immediately jumped into the arena to help their comrade, while I just simply punched the statue as I stood up.
"Lulu? What are you doing?" Callista asked as she stood up next to me.
"We're no longer watching from up here."
