CHAPTER ONE - STUCK IN THE PAST, PART 1

𝓣𝙰𝙽𝙽𝙴𝚁

IT'S BEEN A YEAR SINCE the defeat of The Master. Everyone's lives have gone back to normal. Xander, Madison, Chip, Vida, and I including Leelee still work at the Rock Porium. We haven't seen Nick ever since he and his parents left Briarwood. Chip and Vida are still together and as far as I know, Nick and Leelee are still together as well.

"Hey Leelee. Have you heard from Nick recently?" I asked while sorting the music records. "Not for a while no. Why do you ask?" Leelee replied. "Well. It would be nice to see him again. You know?" I said. Xander put his arm around my neck. "That is true. We haven't seen Nick since we defeated The Master." Xander said.

Suddenly, we heard Leelee scream of joy. All of us turned around and saw Nick standing in the doorway. "Guess who's back." Nick announced. "Nicky!" Leelee screamed as she hugged Nick. I chuckled.

"Nicky?" I said as everyone else laughed with me. "Shut up, Tanner." Nick said. "What are you gonna do about it, Nicky?" I teased. That's when Nick started a fight with me. I brought him down easily. "Looks like someone hasn't forgotten their Ranger moves." Nick informed.

"What can I say? Being a famous motocrosser and all, I gotta find some way to defend myself if I get attacked." I said as I helped him up. I could see that Nick was wearing a normal red shirt. As usual. We may lost our powers defeating The Master and the rest of the underground forces, but we still wore our color.

I still wore white, Nick still wore red, Xander still wore green, Chip wore yellow, Vida wore pink, and Madison still wore blue. "What brings you back into Briarwood, Nick?" Chip asked. "I finally convinced my parents to come back here. And I wanted to see my girlfriend and my friends after a year." Nick answered, kissing Leelee on the cheek.

"Speaking of parents, how's Udonna?" Xander asked. "Oh. That reminds me. She wants all of us to be at Root Core." Nick said. "Root Core? Why?" Chip asked. Nick shrugged. "We better head there." I said. Everyone started heading out. We finally arrived at Root Core and headed inside. "Been a while since I've been here." I said.

"A lot of memories." Xander added. "What did you call us for, Udonna?" Chip asked. "There seems to be dark portals all around Briarwood." Udonna explained. "So some sort of evil is back? Can't the current Power Rangers handle it?" Chip said. "Chip is right. We all have lives now. Tanner is a famous motocrosser and the rest of us are living normally." Xander said.

"It seems the portals are leading to the past." Udonna said. "So we gotta find a way to close these portals?" I said. "Right." Udonna stated. We all headed out of Root Core. "Tanner. There's something I need to talk to you about." Madison said. "Sure. Let's talk." I said. We started walking around the forest. "How are you holding up?" I asked her.

I knew she had a crush on Nick. And ever since Nick chose to date Leelee, she's been down about the whole thing. "What am I supposed to say, that I'm fine? How would you feel if your crush started dating someone else?" Madison asked me.

"Trust me, it hurts me every time Xander tells me he has a "hot date" it hurts liking someone who only thinks of you as a best friend." I replied. Madison stayed silent. "It's gonna be okay, trust me. Nick doesn't know what he's missing." I told her as we hugged.

I started doing my normal jogging. I had to get my mind off of Xander. I was wearing my usual white hoodie that I always wore. Suddenly my morpher beeped. Even if we couldn't transform we would use our morphers to communicate with one another. "Hey, Tanner. Where are you? Toby's wondering why you didn't show up for work." Xander said.

"Crap!" I thought. "Yeah. Sorry. Something's happened and I was just trying to clear my head. Tell Toby I'm heading to the Rock Porium now." I said. "Right. Be careful, Tanner. Remember about what Udonna said about those strange portals." Xander said. I sighed. Xander was such a good best friend, always looking out for me. "Too bad we can't be more." I thought.

Suddenly I saw a strange portal. "Must be one of those portals Udonna was talking about." I think to myself. I took a look around and stepped into the portal. One minute later I fell onto the ground. I took a look around and saw Power Rangers fighting this weird looking guy. But there were only three of them. I took another look around.

"Something tells me I'm not in Briarwood anymore..." I thought.
