When she cried there was a rawness to it, like the pain was still an open wound. She would clasp onto something for support, anything, a table or the back of a chair, and then her whole body would shake.
The sobs were stifled at first as she attempted to hide her grief, then overcome by the wave of her emotions she would break down entirely, all her defences washed away in those salty tears.
Thinking about Joshua pretending all this time could wound her soul unlike any other action. It was just a big amount of pain she had to deal with all alone. Joshua was not with her even if he was saying otherwise.
She was alone. Minghao was not with her, Joshua was not with her... Her parents were dead. She didn't really have friends... Her brother was miles away!
As much as she tried to hold it in, the pain came out like an uproar from her throat in the form of a silent scream. Cottoning on the fact, She actually is forlorn was uprooting every warm feeling inside her heart and the worst part was that she is not mad at Joshua. She is mad at herself that fell for this fairytale.
Minutes were passing by as she was laying on the floor crying her eyeballs out until she heard a sudden knock on the door. She could not find the strength to check who it was so she just remained on the floor.
"Soonie? It's me!" Mia's voice echoed through the hallway and Mia rubbed her eyes, trying to dry the moisty tears on her cheeks. She totally forgot they had plans tonight.
"Soonie open up! Are you okay?" She asked while her one hand was located on the surface of the wooden door. She sniffed quite hardly as she finally stood on the floor. Her hand landed on the doorknob and towisted around so the door finally swung open.
"Oh my god, What happened?" Mia asked scanning her face filled of grief and soorrow. Her eyes were swollen, her cheeks were puffy and her nose was red. Mia entered in and closed the door behind her. Her hands cupped Soonie's face to have a clearer view.
"Why are you crying?" She asked and as soon as she reminded her the reasons she broke in tears before, a teardrop slid down her cheek silently once again.
"Mia... I can't go out tonight..." She announced with a wobbly voice as more tears were harshly meeting the ground. "What happened?" She continued wiping her tears away as the girl was dealing with some breathing problems.
"Mia... I am alone..." She stuttered as her knees were trembling. "Soonie I am over here... You can talk to me..." She announced. "I-I can't breathe..." Soonie kept on stuttering and Mia grabbed her jacket from her bed. "Let's go outside... You need some air..." She announced and seized her arm, leading her outside.
They walked completrely out of the college area, making their way right next to the familiar convinient store, to find a bench right on top of a cliff. Mia pinned her down and wore her jacket on Soonie's shoulders tenderly.
"Will you tell me what happened?" She asked after a while of her staring at the tears of the girl escaping her eyes once again. Soonie just nodded and words got formed on her lips. She finally explain everything from the top. About her massive fight with Minghao, about her living with Joshua, About him believing his Ex over her when she said she really saw Lisa with another guy. She did not leave anything out, informing Mia about every little detail.
"This situation is messed up..." She whispered gripping her head with both of her hands. "I know..." Soonie announced once she regained full consiousness. Her throat was dry as there were no more tears left for her to cry. Her energy depleted tragically, as she laid back being worn out.
"You should really talk to Jisoo though... Things might not be the way Lisa said..." She answered and she could be right. Soonie was aware that this could not be a lie looking back at some certain occations. Joshua always looked like he knew something but was too afraid to speak.
"Mia... Me and Joshua... we are over... I made up my mind..." That sentence made her heart break in little pieces. Mia was awed not believing what she just heard. "are you serious? That's not the solution..." Mia supported almost agitrated by Soonie's sudden decision.
"He is the reason I lost my best friend... And actually hid it from me! I am not gonna stay in a relationship with someone who lies and plays with me and my life!" Soonie crossed her arms. "You need to let him explain first... Don't be unfair with him... He was always by your si-"
"Mia I took my decision..." She said and got up from the bench. As soon as she finally stood with confidence small droplets started falling from the sky to their heads. "Where are you going?" Mia asked still sitting on the bench like it never started raining.
"I am going to put an end to all of this..." She said and without even listening to what Mia has to say she ran down the road while rain was literally making her completely wet. She entered the dorms while her clothes wre literally draining away.
She passed by Minghao's room as he was getting out. He saw her being all wet, freezing to death. They had a staring contest as his face softened. What happened to her? He was sensetive over this topic. As a word was about to escape from his lips, Soon-hee left him behind, making her way to Joshua's room, running.
Her hand knocked on his door twice awaiting for the boy to open the door. He was quite quick swinging it open.
"Soonie?" He said and then noticed how speechless and wet she was. He could not distinguise her tears because of the raindrops on her cheeks. "You are soaking wet... Get in..." He said and seized her hand pulling her in. She pushed him away defending herself and actually taking a -step back. "D-Don't touch me..." She stuttered. Joshua's eyebrows narrowed as his face could speak of how perplexed he was.
"I am sorry..." He apologized. "Are you okay what happened?" His question made the girl tear up even more. What is happening? He did not have a single idea. "I-I talked with Lisa..." She said and finally it was crystal clear she was crying her eyes out.
"Wait, What? Did she do something to you again?" He asked and immediately pulled her wrist to notice any possible wounds. The girl pushed his chest to get him far away from her. "I said don't touch me..." She screamed as a light sob escaped her lips.
"I- I don't want you to touch me anymore..." She stuttered in pain.
"Hey What happened? Talk to me..." He tried to sooth her with his mellow voice but it did not work out this time. "She told me everything... About your convarsation... You believed her over me... You actually betrayed me..." She said as she was quite surprised.
"It's not like that Soonie... I-" She interrupted him when he was ready to explain himself. "You are the reason behind my fight with Minghao... You are the reason I lost it all and the worst part is that I didn't even know about it until today... You didn't talk to me..." She screamed while light sobs escaped her lips.
"Soon-hee let me explain..." He tried to touch her once again but she took some steps back. "Stay away from me!" She cried out loud, feeling threatened by the tall boy in front of her.
"Soonie I am so sorry..." This time he was the one to tear up, but that didn't even touch her heart a bit. It was cold now, Like today's weather. "Let's break up Jisoo..." She announced hiding all the pain she had inside.
"W-What?" He stuttered shocked. His jaw slowly fell down as his eyes widen each seond. The girl placed her hands behind her neck to unclip the medallion Joshua gave to her. As soon as it was finally on her gip she placed it onto Joshua's palm.
"W-What are you doing?" He said as a single tear fell from his eye, streaming down his cheek. "Let's end this here..." She coldly said without even caring of what he truly wants. "No Soonie No... Don't do this..." He was stuttering in his attempt to convince her.
"I hate you..." She hissed while her tears minimized finally. "No No... You don't...." He tried to stop her from leaving but the girl pushed him away once again. "Let's not talk again... We are over..." She said and started running away from him. The thing she didn't know was that Mingyu was walking up the stairs this time and spotted her getting closer to him with tears in her eyes. "Soon-hee?" He asked and grabbed her wrist as she was getting up the stairway.
"What happened?" He asked. It took her a while to realize who was talking. When she distinguised his face she pulled her hand towards her and bowed. She ran up without even blurring a word out. "Wait..." He ran behind of her but as soon as he reached the third floor he saw her getting in her appartment. It was too late now...
Soon-hee crawled on top of her bed and started crying for over an hour. She spent the most of her night, crying, thinking and sobbing. She slept at three so the next morning she could just not find the energy to attend her class. It's just a class... She can lose one lecture, so what? She thouugh and relaxed under her duvet. She knew she was not gonna sleep but still she wanted to stay there and cry. Everything in her life seems to be awful.
After an hour of her relaxing and even letting her feelings getting expressed by some extra tears she heard a knock on the door. It's either Mia... Or Joshua... She was not going to open. Especially to Joshua. Her door is always gonna be locked to Joshua from now on.
It's over.
The person knocked again but she was not willing to open up the door.
"Soon-hee are you in?" This voice didn't belong to Joshua... Neither it was Mia's. It was so familiar to her ears but still quite foreign. "It's me Jihoon!"The man announced and she was ageped. She totally forgot about her brother visiting her to meet her boyfriend and see Minghao after such a long time.
"I-I am coming..." She screamed and jumped off her bed to reach the door. She opened it only to see her brother with a suitcase on his hand. "Guess who is back to s-" He said and then noticed how ugly his sister was.
"You look like a train ran you over..." He announced scanning her from head to toe. "I missed you too brother..." She declared and went in for a hug. Those second actually reassured her and made her find some clear air.
"Are you okay?" He asked breaking thne hug. "Yes Jihoonie.... I just missed you so much... Come in!" She announced and made some space for him to enter. The man looked all around the room to realize how empty the one side looked.
"I didn't know you were such a rabel!" He teased her placing his suitcase on the free bed. "What do you mean??" She asked perplexed and the man giggled. "You? Losing the first hours of college? As Far As I know you are a nerd..." He didn't stop teasing her and she rolled her eyes sitting on her bed.
"And As far as I remember you are unsuccessful... So how are you teaching these poor people?" She fired back not even wasting a chance and the boy chuckled. "You are just jealous I have such a superior life!" He laid against the wall behind of him, while he was placed on top of the bed.
"Yeah whatever..."
He continued staing at her room and noticed some pictures on the wall. Minghao, and an unknown face. He must be her boyfriend, he thought. "Oh By the way how did you find my room?" She asked and the man got distracted.
"Well, I remembered Hao's room number... I was lucky enough he was there... He ditched the first hour as well... I thought you were living together!" The man announced and the girl almost chocked on her own saliva.
"Did something happened?" He asked and the girl tried not to freak out.
