No one's pov.

There was this long uncomfortable silence after (F•N)'s announcement about traveling to Brooklyn at her graduation a few weeks ago.

"I mean Brooklyn!" Her father said breaking the ice awkwardly.

"It's so far away from us and so huge–" Her father said.

"–But more or less, we are very proud of you." Her mother said patting her back.

"It's more of a proud-scared moment." Her father joked around.

(F•N) sighed while giving her parents reassuring eyes. "Mom, dad I've been preparing for this moment my entire life!"

"We know, me and your father are excited but also very terrified as well." Her mother said.

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!" (F•N) in a cheerful tone.

"And bear's! and criminals and homeless people, and I've heard from a little birdy. Brooklyn is packed with them!" Her father whispered to her.

"Oh, stop with the nonsense Troy!" Her mother said sternly.

"And drug dealers are the worst!" Her father added.

"Your father has a point on that, remember what happened at Lincolngrove with that boy? You may run to him on the streets!" Her mom said.

"When I was only 10! Ughh! It doesn't even matter anymore, last I heard from him he's still here and working at some place." 

(F•N)'s Father bent down and grabbed a bag filled with different items. "Before you leave us, we made you a little care package and your mother packed some snacks as well!".

"What's in the bag though?" (F•N) said while being handed the heavy bag.

"There is the following, homemade pepper spray with an extra hint of jalapeno juice! A taser! and a blunt knife!" Her father proudly announced.

(F•N) gave her parents a crazy look but sighed to herself and kept quiet.

"I will take this and I will...do something with it." (F•N) said.

"Here comes the train to take you away." Her father said.

"At least give us one more hug before you go." (F•N)'s mom said with her arms out.

(F•N) gave her parents a tight hug "I'll miss you guys. Thank you for supporting me."

"Call us when you arrived! And have a great time." Her mother said as (F•N) boarded the expressway train.

The train door shut and (F•N) pressed her face against the glass. "Bye! Mom! Bye! Dad!" She kept saying goodbye until she couldn't see her parents again.

(F•N) sat down on a seat with her phone out about to listen to some music, she turned around to face the window as the train went by an overview of her town, she never realized how small it was.

She kept looking outside the window as the music from her headphones smoothed her brain.

She already got the apartment information from her uncle, after all, he is giving her the lease form. It was a small apartment complex (F•N) that had a 3rd-floor room to herself.

(F•N) was smart enough to book an interview at a Brooklyn precinct that was near her it was the best in the whole state, and that alone and her very excited.

(F•N) was still looking outside of the window as the scenery changed, it was beautiful seeing different cityscapes.

She soon leaned back into her seat and started to sleep as a Brooklyn dreamscape was filling her head with positivity.

Brooklyn, New York City.

(F•N) woke up from a random mental urge that, she was in Brooklyn already.

She got up as the expressway train slowed down and made a halt.

(F•N) gasped and looked outside the train window. "No way..." 

She quickly grabbed her stuff, and headed out the train with her stuff, she felt a sudden burst of excitement.

She was truly on her own, and about to start a new chapter.

"Okay! This is happening! Now I need to find Uncle Todd's apartment complex." She thought to herself 

(F•N) walked through the crowds of Brooklyn, trying her hardest not to inhale the smoke that would come out of cars and buses.

She soon found the apartment complex and walked right in.

"Excuse me?" Said (F•N) talking to the old woman behind the desk.

"Yes, what do you need?" Said the old woman looking up.

"Ummm, I'm here for apartment 305? The owner knows me–" (F•N) Said.

"Take this key, and I'll send you the lease information in your mailbox." Said the old woman plopping the key onto (F•N)'s hand.

"Thanks!" (F•N) Entered the elevator and went up to the 3rd floor.

When the elevator halted she stepped out and quickly search for her apartment.

"Ah! 305, here it is." (F•N) said hopping in place.

She shakily opened the door and swung it open.

"Oh, my goddess.." (F•N) said walking Into the apartment room.

"It's even better than I imagined, thank you uncle Todd." (F•N) said examining her apartment.

(F•N) walked out of her room and saw other patrons as well. "Hello! I'm (F•N). Your neighbor!" She said to two frat-looking boys walking past her.

"Yeah? We're loud and obnoxious." Said one guy with a soda can.

"Don't expect us to apologize!" Said the other guy.

"...Okay–" (F•N) said walking back into her room, she shut the door and went towards her room.

It already had her bed from her parent's home, with all the other items as well.

She flopped on the bed staring at the ceiling. "Nice walls, but could a paint job.

"SHUT UP!"

"NO, YOU SHUT UP!"

(F•N) sat up straight and cringed as she could hear her neighbors through the walls.

"And very crazy loud neighbors...I should call mom." (F•N) said while digging into her pocket for her phone.

She dialed her mother's number and placed it on speakerphone.

"Hi! You made it didn't you?" Her mom said on the phone.

"Yeah! It's already great! How's you and dad?"

"Well, your father and I are going out for tonight, courtesy of your Uncle Todd." Her mother said.

"Wow, I guess that retirement money pays off. Well, you both have fun–"

"Wait before you go, when are you starting your police duty?" Her mom asked excitedly.

"I haven't done an interview yet, but I'm hoping I'll start somewhere around this week!"

"I'm proud of you and so is your dad, call me later?" Her mom asked.

"Yeah! Bye, mom." (F•N) said hanging up the phone. 

She plopped on her bed and scrolled through her phone, she saw it was 5 PM.

"I wonder if there are any good food places around.." (F•N) said while getting up and walking out the door and downstairs and exiting the apartment lobby.

She kept walking down a street trying to find something to put in her stomach for today.

She settled down for a New York slice because it's comfort food and nothing could go wrong with it.

(F•N) went back to her apartment with her pizza and a happy outlook on her life going solo.

She felt free and open about exploring and learning new things.

As the night settled in (F•N) was preparing for her interview for the Brooklyn precinct.

She laid out some business attire for her interview tomorrow.

"This is gonna be the biggest change in my 19 years of life, all I need to do is to sleep and try not to overthink it." (F•N) said while climbing into her bed.

"Anything could happen tomorrow. So! let's hope for the best."

Interview room, Brooklyn precinct.

"Okay, welcome to the Brooklyn precinct! Your duty will start tomorrow & and your uniform will be sent to your apartment complex." Said the interviewee.

(F•N) sat in her chair dumbfounded. Was her resume that good? Did she score a high percentage on the final exam she took at the academy?

Today was the day for her interview for the Brooklyn precinct and didn't expect this.

"I'm sorry. What just happened?" She asked.

The woman looked up from her computer and took off her glasses. "You got the job! That's what happened." 

"But..You just asked me a few questions and then quizzed me! Isn't there supposed to be more stuff?" (F•N) asked.

The woman laughed at (F•N) question. "This is how interviews work! and you did a great job considering the fact this was your first time.  One thing I would like to ask you.

"Go ahead." (F•N) said.

"Why did you want to become a policewoman?" 

(F•N) was taken back there saw so many reasons why she chose this job area.

(F•N) had a mindset. It was to help others in need of help, she was a people person and she care very deeply about others and their feelings. She would go to the end of the earth to defend someone. She just had a loving heart, but of course, caring for others she would often forget to care about herself. She would never go into too many details she kept it to herself because she didn't want to worry anyone.

When (F•N) was finished explaining, it was very obvious that the woman who asked her was very intrigued by her.

"You are a very important person to this world, you could impact millions! That's why the interview was so short, I believe in you (F•N). After all, in as women in the police force, we have to have each other's back."

And just like that (F•N) left the precinct, with a wide smile and already talking to her mom.

"Yes, mom! I start tomorrow and I'll get my uniform tomorrow! Today has been amazing!" She explained over the phone.

"I don't know what I'm gonna do for the rest of the day...celebrate I guess?" (F•N) said walking to her apartment block.

"I'll talk to you tomorrow!" (F•N)  said entering her apartment complex and hanging up the phone.

She went up the stairs and entered her room,she sat down on her bed and started to take a small nap.

Surely nothing could go wrong with a nap–
