"To become a monster like me, is to admit you were too weak to remain a human."
-Alucard (Hellsing)

"from the details revealed by Ryuk himself, it was an organization. They called themselves 'The Black Feathers'... They're practically a cult. They see themselves like messengers from Shinigami, they see villains as people who mess with the Shinigami's set fate for humans."

Aizawa paused and took a deep breath before carrying on.

"I had saved Ryuk and his mother from a low leveled villain when he was around 6, during the attack his crow quirk had gone out of control and caught the attention of the organization."

All might had interrupted Aizawa in a confused and worried tone.

"What did they do to him?!"

Meanwhile, 13 was still in shock staring at the innocent picture of the young black-haired boy in disbelief that he had committed all those sins.

"Let me finish. They spent the next few years spying on the boy, once they figured out he got a second powerful quirk, they started planning. Eventually, they found the perfect opportunity and kidnapped the boy when he was barely 11 on Halloween night."

The single mother had finally trusted her son and the neighborhood enough to let him go trick or treating with just his friends, no adults.

She was nervous of course, but she felt better knowing they were in a group and his quirks had finally developed. Despite knowing that, she couldn't stop herself from hooking a cross on her son's neck, the silver resting atop his vampire costume.

"Mommy! Stop shaking your gonna let out your loud crows again! Last time they trashed my room..."

She laughed and took a deep breath and adjusted his cross once more. She watched her bright Starchild, Ryuk run off to meet his friends.

She walked back inside and for the first time in years she prayed, she hadn't prayed since the death of her husband. She prayed till her knees hurt.

"Please protect my light."

The excited boy had failed to notice the engraving of his father's name on the back of the cross, too busy joking and laughing with his friends.

As they got candy and cheek pinches from the adults who opened the door they didn't feel the presence of the monsters hiding in the shadows.

They did however notice the frantic squawking coming from the road beside them as they walk. Looking over and squinting slightly due to the dark, they saw a crow laying in the middle of the road desperately flapping its wings to try and fly, Ryuk had noticed one of the midnight wings was dragging against the ground and slightly deformed.

One of the boys Ryuk had grown up with, Light, who was the son of his mother's best friend, who had also nicknamed her kid after a DeathNote character, had spoken up worried.

"We should help it! Ryuk your new quirk can help us right?!"

"Uh- Hopefully! We should hurry! A lot of people will be driving soon."

Light nodded and turned to the two other boys, Leo and Sal.

"You to watch the road for us okay? Yell really loud if you see a car coming up!"

Light and Ryuk looked left and right quickly before running up to the crow. That was unusually scared of Ryuk.

'Huh... That's weird usually crows love me...'

Ryuk pushed the thought away thinking it was probably just the fact Light was with him that made the bird scared.

Ryuk was eventually able to calm the bird and scoop it up gently in his tiny hands. He and Light then ran back to their friends.

The boys sat down on the concrete outside a local gas station, Leo had some pocket money and bought a small first aid kit. Ryuk researched a lot about birds and crows in general and was able to wrap the wing.

Sal spoke up, the albino child pushing his white hair away from his eyes as he spoke.

"If it wasn't moving I would've thought it was dead, its eyes look so... Fake."

All the boys adjust themselves to stare into the dark eyes. Leo then spoke.

"Ew- Yeah your right, but it's obviously alive. Ryuk you think you can like speak to it? You know cause your quirk?"

"Uhhh, maybe?... Hey Crow, can you show me where you live? Or where you would like me to put you?"

Suddenly the crow stood up in his hands and started chirping and leaning its head toward a direction.

"Woah it worked! Your power is so cool Ryuk!"

"Heh! Of course it is I got it from my mom! C'mon, let's go!"

When the boys finally arrive at where the crow had been leading them they were unnerved, it was an old park that looked very unused and rundown, the entire playground was made of wood and seemed like it would blow away in the October wind.

The crow had led the children to a tall tree behind the playground.

"So who's gonna climb up there? I definitely can't, I can barely climb up the slide!" Sal had said which sparked a debate on who was going up until Leo finally calmed them all.

"Look none of us wanna be in this creepy park! Ryuk is the best at tree climbing and the quickest!"

He turned to face the dark-eyed boy before he spoke again.

"So Ryuk you climb up! So that we can all get out of here as quick as we can!"

Ryuk felt a wave of nerves pass through him, but before he could protest the two other boys kept egging him on. And before he knew it the crow was nestled in his hair and he was standing in front of the tall creepy tree.

"C'mon dude hurry! We gotta make it home in time!"

With that Ryuk started climbing as quickly as he could, he just wanted to go home and count his candy with his mom. Avoiding his vampire cape getting caught on any branches, he finally found a good branch to set the crow on top of.

"There you go, little guy! Now how do I get down..."

Suddenly Ryuk heard thumping below him and he swore something tall hit the tree, unfortunately, he couldn't see below him due to the dead leaves and branches.

"Guys that isn't funny!"

He yelled down below, he didn't hear a response so he just rolled his eyes and climbed down the tree, failing to notice the crow had disappeared.

As he made it to the ground he immediately realized his friends weren't there with the candy bags ready to run out of the park.

"Guys?... Cmon don't hide! This isn't funny!"

He looked up only to notice what seemed to be at least 100 crows flying in circles above the park, then he heard muffled voices of his name, and he turned to the old playground.

His blood ran cold and he tensed. His closest friends were being held by 3 different people in black hooded cloaks, the unknown adults' hands over the children's mouths.

They kicked and tried to scream, tears staining their chubby cheeks and the kidnapper's hands, some tears falling onto the dropped pillowcases and candy bags full of candy.

Unable to speak, fear possessing his tongue and forcing him to stay silent, he backed up immediately bumping into what felt like a human behind him.

Before he could scream arms grabbed him and covered his mouth, it seemed to be multiple people, one pair of hands holding back each arm, and finally two freezing cold hands covering his mouth.

A hooded figure stepped in front of the young boy, their hand glowed as they brought it in front of Ryuk's eyes, he suddenly felt sleepy and faint. As he passed out he heard the figure in front speaking.

"You are the only hope we have child."

The last thing he had seen was the twisted cross around his neck, he had finally noticed the words engraved.

'Forever Protected.'
'KURAI ONIMARU'

"Now tell me everything you know."

"I don't know everything! But we're here to kill All Might! I'm not exactly sure how!"

"What do you know about the students?"

"Nothing! We don't even know your damn quirks! IF WE DID I WOULDN'T BE HERE-"

He was shut up by my gun in his mouth, the taste of metal shocking him.

"Shut up. You only answer what I ask then you shut your mouth. Where are my classmates."

I move my gun so he can speak.

"I- I don't know the specifics, they're all scattered around the building..."

He sputters and then stares at me, his fear of me makes me feel powerful. I kneel to his eyes staring at him through the lenses

"That wasn't so hard, was it? At least you aren't like your partners." I force his head to turn to look at the dead bodies on the ground, some of their now cold hands are reaching toward him.

"You're... YOU'RE A MONSTER!"

I went rigid when his voice met my ears. He tried once again to trap me in his roots. I grabbed the pathetic plants and ripped them out of his hands, blood splattering everywhere as he screams, he grips his hand as crimson flows between his fingers.

"I'm a monster? IM THE MONSTER?!"

A shot to the shoulder.

"I AM THE REVENGE AND KARMA OF THE GODS!!!"

Another shot to the stomach.

"YOU PATHETIC CREATURES BOW BEFORE ME! NOW YOU BETTER PRAY I DON'T COME DOWN AND HAUNT YOU IN HELL!!!"

I aim.

"NO NO NO!"

A shot between the eyes...

The blood and bits of brain stain my mask as I lower my gun and stare at the mangled corpse.

"These pathetic humans think they can play god huh? No one messes with the time of life without karma catching up."

I take off my mask and flick off the bits of the brain that flew out of the man's head, once I get rid of all the chunks I place the plague mask back on.

I look around and see all the dead bodies and the realization of what I had just done hit me like a train, the guilt feeling like falling from heaven.

'they were low-level scum anyways, I am hope. I did the right thing.'

My own words echo in my head as I push away the guilt. Walking over to one of the men with a bullet wound in his neck I place my hand over the wound.

I hadn't told Aizawa of this part of my power, there were already a lot of crimes on my record if I revealed this part more would have been linked to me.

I activate my quirk as the hole heals and the energy collects in my body. The people don't come back to life of course, but even when dead I'm still able to collect energy.

I repeat the process quickly and continue walking through the forest shooting anything that moves. By the time I reach the edge of the forest, I had plenty of energy collected to last me a lifetime.

As I walked out of the forest I'm greeted by a huge splash coming from the shipwreck zone, I can see around 3 heat signatures in the air but I can't make out who they are. I use my largest crow to fly me over there, I'm able to catch the hundreds of crows that flew in earlier helping my classmates.

When I get over I met with Midoriya, Tsu, and Mineta. Jumping off my crow as it vanishes I land in front of them.

"It's you three. Are you all okay?"

Midoriya seems shocked for a second before he replies.

"Ah! Ryuk! Uhm yeah, we're fine."

"Midoriya has two broken fingers, ribbit."

His eyes widened but before he can try to convince me not to heal him I grab his arm and gently tug him toward me.

"Don't hide your injuries from me. It's not a burden it helps me a lot... Be careful."

I once again fail to notice the redness in his cheeks as I put our hands together to heal him.

"Uh- R- Right! Sorry I didn't mean to worry you."

"It's fine. Now, you all should head straight for where the entrance is, I'm going to keep heading over to different areas and help our classmates. Don't do something dumb."

They all nod at me as my large crow summons again spreading its wing and cawing before I give my classmates one last look before I fly off with my crow.

As I'm flying I hear a sound behind me, I'm unable to react in time before what looks like a leaf chain grabs the leg and wing of my crow and drags us back to the forest, I can hear what sounds like Midoriya scream my name before I crash into branches.

"We can't let you leave you freak!"

I hear what I'm assuming is another criminal, I was dragged back into the forest from the sky, the pain from falling back down was horrible but I've been through worse.

I lay on the ground for a second just staring at the men and women staring at me, my dark lenses preventing them to see where I'm looking due to the shadows they cast over me.

"So this is the kid we're supposed to keep here?"

"Yeah apparently, he doesn't look like much."

"Don't underestimate him you idiots do you remember the other dudes we found?- ARGH-"

A thud sounds out as his body falls forward. Faster then light I had gotten up and twisted his neck, successfully ending his life quickly and smoothly.

I could feel the terror from the others thugs around me. 7 were still standing 3 women 4 men left. I turn around and lifted the body from under the armpits.

"You won't live long enough to put this advice to use but... I was taught to always take the smart one out first."

I lunged in front of one of the women, she shrieked like a little girl seeing a spider in her room, she backed up and tried to attack me with her rock quirk.

Before she could send the floating stones at me she was rendered silent by me shooting her between the eyes. I slowly lower my gun and turn to face the now huddled-up group of criminals, all of them clinging to each other like a group of innocent students in a haunted house.

But they weren't innocent, not by any means, they hurt actual innocents and tried getting in my way. I almost didn't recognize my voice as I spoke, low and assertive.

"And then you take out the stragglers."

All at once their instincts kicked in and they all attacked me with their quirks, the man in the middle seemed to have some sort of manipulation quirk as he rooted up a tree and tried to throw it at me.

I decided close combat was most ideal and as I dodged the rather weak quirks and random trees I put away my gun and reached for a different weapon a black knife a friend had made for me after I was... 'Saved'.

(replace Alex with Ryuk or Y/n whatever you prefer)

I got closer while still dodging and before the man hurling trees at me knew it, my knife was against his throat.

"Touching that other beast was more then enough, I don't want to get my hands dirtier."

I sliced his throat and kicked his body away so his partners wouldn't be able to use it as a shield. Then quickly the other 5 criminals' heads were rolling on the ground, leaving blood behind them as they separated from their necks the blood spraying like a fucked up water park. I'm sure the younger me would have a blast playing in their crimson life essence.

I was soaked in blood, my cloak was sticky so was my mask, and streams of blood dropped off the plague mask and my hat as I collected energy from the nondecapitated ones.

I let my crows feast on the bodies as I made my way out of the forest area, it was heavily wooded but it wasn't that large.

As I walk out I am reminded of the hundreds of crows flying throughout the USJ as I notice most are flying around the central plaza panicking, some notice my presence and start pecking me towards the plaza.

Worried I run towards the plaza where Aizawa is, a pit of pure darkness brewing in my chest, like a black hole it swallows all my calmness and replaces it with worry and anxiety.

That pit of darkness and pure hell washes over my whole body as I'm greeted by one of the most horrific things I've seen.

I watch as Aizawa gets slammed into the concrete by a bird creature my crows desperately pecking and clawing at the creature while the disgusting bird doesn't even react and swats them
