You were laid out on your stomach over the soft bed, reading one of your many books to pass the time until dinner. It was quiet in the old castle, like always when its not around. Only the sound of rats skittering about outside and creaks of old wood. The only noise in your room is the sound of paper being turned to get to the next page. Thats why when your door was kicked in you jumped up with a yelp. Dropping the book off the bed as you looked to the door in surprise. Not another person is supposed to be in this whole castle

"Im here to save you, fair princess!"

"You don't have to yell, we're in the same room." You looked the man in knight's armor over "How did you get in here anyways?"

He looked like he was punched in the gut but only for a moment as that cocky smile returned "I slayed the beast holding you captive my princess! Now I'm here to take you home!" He closed his eyes with that cocky smile, awaiting thankful kisses and hugs from the captive princess but none came. Instead a loud "What!?" rang out and he was pushed aside as you rushed passed him down the hall.

He was confused, so much so it took him a full minute to run after you, and when he arrived he found you crying with the huge yellow basilisk's head on your lap, ignoring the blood that covered your dress and hands. Holding it with care, like the thing isn't a beast! 

"Hizashi, Hizashi please open your eyes." 

"Hizashi? You named it? That thing is a beast! A monster!"

"Dont talk about him like that! You don't know anything about him!" 

The man tsked and grabbed your arm, yanking you to your feet and began dragging you away as you fought against his grip screaming out for the large snake. Suddenly a large yellow tail wrapped around you and yanked, you slipped from the man's grip thankfully. Once you were kneeling on the ground the large snake coiled completely around you, you couldn't see out and the man couldn't see in. You leaned against the coil, thankful he was alright.

"Unhand her immortal beast! She belongs home with her parents! Not as your prisoner!"

Green eyes burned into the man as Hizashi stood as full height as he could with you still protected in his coil "You don't wish to return her home, you just want the reward that comes with bringing her home. You aren't the first man to try and force her hand into marriage." Hizashi got right into his face to continue "She is not a captive, she could leave if she pleased. She wishes to be here, with me, you however will be stuck with the rest of the souls that dared to try me." His jaw unhinged and the man let out a bitch scream before he was gobbled whole in one go. When the man was gone Hizashi uncoiled you, rubbing his face against you like a very large cat "You ok little one?" 

"My arm is gonna be bruised but I'll live. Thank you Hizashi." You hugged onto him, causing him to smile "I don't need thanksss. As long as you choose to stay here with me I'll protect you."
