"I want Y/n to be the dorm prefect instead."

"Eh?!" Once again shorts of confusion went through the room.

You stared at the black haired boy. "You want me to be the prefect? Why?"

"You kept your cool, and came up with a plan. You protected all of us the entire way through the incident, and threw yourself between me and the creature when I fell. You're way more responsible then I am, and are way better at reading the situation. And you also kept a close eye on Ace and Grim's behavior through out the entire thing. I think you would be way more fit for the position then I am."

Yuu finished with a bright smile. His smile was only met with the multiple faces of shock.

After processing for a bit, a soft smile crept up onto your face. Your tail started wagging out of excitement. Honestly you couldn't contain yourself, and flew into his arms.

You squeezed the boy tightly in a hug, before letting go again. "Thank you, Yuu. I appreciate your recognition alot. I promise to make you my Vice-prefect!"

Crowley nodded. "Alright! Then Y/n shall be the Ramshackle dorm Housewarden, and Yuu shall be her Vice-Housewarden."

Ace chuckled with an equally bright smile. "Heh heh heh. Good luck to you two, Magic-less Housewarden and Vice-Housewarden!"

"I just so happen to have a job for you," Crowley started again. "And that title will make it all the easier to foist... er, I mean, congratulations!"

"Now, I have something for you." The headmage walked over to his desk, and pulled out an old camera.

"This is called a ghost camera." He walked back over with the camera in hand.

"Ghost? Why ghost?" Yuu asked with a slight tilt of his head.

Ace took a look at the thing aswell. "Ooh, my grandma's told me about those. Those are, like, super old magic items, right?"

"I would hardly consider them "super old..." Ahem." Crowley rolled his eyes. "But it may indeed have been invented when your great or great-great-grandmother was a child."

"So they are super old." You said with a slight frown.

"Shush, no they're not. Anyways. It's a camera enchanted with a special kind of magic. It enables the user to photograph not just the subject's physical form, but parts of their soul itself."

Deuce frowned and crossed his arm. "Wait, that sounds...sketchy."

"They're called memories." The crow continued on. Here's the thing: when the soul bond between photographer and subject deepens... The Memories captured on this magic camera's photos come jumping out!"

"Jumping out? How does that work?" Yuu questioned again.

"When the photographer and subject grow closer, their photographs grow animated like videos... And sometimes the photographs take on corporeal form and slip out. Is that not what you youths call "wicked keen"?"

"Quick question. What's a video?"

Everyone slowly turned towards you with weird expressions on their face.

"What? Did I say something wrong?" Your ears tilted back slightly ad you fiddled with your fingers.

"You don't know what a video is?!" Ace yelled out.

"No?"

"Uhm, do you know what a picture is?" Yuu asked while quickly slapping a hand over Ace's mouth.

"I believe something called like that is recently invented in Fontaine? But I come from Sumeru... The entire Teyvat is not really all up with technology, Fontaine is the most advanced at that point."

"Alright, you know what a portrait is right? Or a painting of a landscape?"

You nodded yes.

"Technically a picture is that, but quickly taken in less then a second by a camera. If you have a video, it's just basically a lot of pictures very put quickly behind eachother. That makes it look like the picture is moving." Yuu explained.

Your ears flipped back up and you nodded with a slight smile. "I understand, thank you!"

Yuu slapped Ace's arm for him being an asshole while you weren't looking.

"That's almost sounds like ghost photography!" Deuce said, heading back to the original topic at hand.

"Very astute. Hence the name "ghost camera." I understand it was developed as a more vivid way to capture moments in time, in an age before video. As Spade observed, in days of yore, when people saw Memories jumping out of photos, they would get spooked and yell, "Ghost!" I've heard many tales of people who were deathly scared of being photographed by such cameras."

Ace slumped his shoulders and sighed. "This tech sounds like way more trouble than it's worth."

"Y/n and Yuu. I would like you to photograph eachother, Grim and the other students with this camera, and make a decors of your campus life."

Grum hummed happily. "Myah ha haaa! Sounds like the perfect way rk immortalize all my finest moments!"

"Ahem..." Crowley coughed to get the attention back on himself. "Make sure to especially capture the mischief caused by certain students who struggle with impulse control.

Keeping a photographic journal sounds far less tedious than writing ms lengthy reports, wouldn't you agree? As a Vice- and Housewarden consider it you both's duty to maintain a sharp eye on your surroundings and record them."

A familiar smile spread across the headmages face. "Note how generous I'm being in providing a rare magical item that even someone like yourself can use. Is my kindness not beyond all reckoning?"

"We'll give this our all!" Yuu pumped his fist with a bright smile.

You nodded and smiled a little as well. "You can count on us!"

"The hour has grown late, so further details shall have to wait until tomorrow. You are all dismissed. Return to your dorms at once." Crowley smiled and started ushering you all out the door.

"Gpld night, sir!" Deuce said before you all walked out.

You were last to walk out, and gently closed the door behind you.

Deuce huffed and closed his eyes. "Phew... We managed to avoid expulsion. That was a close one!"

Ace who had his eyes closed aswell nodded to his words. "Yeah, no kidding!"

Grim was in the complete opposite mood of the two. "La la la la la! I'm a student at Night Raven College! La la la! Im gonna be the top mage on campus in no time. Enjoy eating my dust, boys!"

Ace smiled at his behavior. "Big words for a sentient lint who's literally ⅓ a student. Still... Good for you."

"That's actually really sweet of you, Ace." You mumbled before yawning. Your ears layed flat against your head as you covered your mouth with your hand.

"I guess we're schoolmates now." Deuce started. He smiled at your little yawn. "Grim, Yuu, Y/n - Welcome to Night Raven."

"The pleasure is all mine!" Yuu said in his excited tone.

"Okay, seriously, can we quit it with that stuff?" Ace grumbled slightly. His cheeks were a little red from your comment earlier.

"Heh. We'll be seeing each other all the time now. We'll see what a pleasure that turns out to be. Especially you, Ace, some were in the same dorm." Deuce sighed, but specifically looked at your for a moment.

"Yeaaah, can't say I'm jazzed about seeing your smug, self-important scowl everyday." Ace responded.

"Better then you lazy, dopey grin." Deuce snarled back.

"Keep bawling, crybaby. I haven't forgotten how you almost wept when he said you were expelled. Catch ya later Y/n, Yuu." Ace waved before turning away.

"Bye, see you tomorrow." Deuce said aswell, before turning with Ace. The two continued to bicker together as they walked down the hall.

"Thise two seem like they're made for each other." Yuu said with a chuckle.

"I couldn't agree less." You smiled at the two boys fighting in the distance.

"Yep! I agree! Anyways, let's get back to the dorm! Tomorrow when we wake, it won't be as janitors. Finally, finally... My glorious education as a proper Night Raven College student is about to begin!" Grim apply climbed back into your arms as you all started heading back to the dorm.
