Chapter 9

You all stepped through the Dark Mirror and ended up in a dark forest.

You were all looking around. Grim looked slightly scared, while Yuu looked more amazed.

"So this is the Dwarf's Mine... Long ago, this mine was flush with magestones." Deuce spoke as he looked at the small house not to far away from where you were standing. And the entrance of the mine not really that further away from the house.

"Urgh... Who knows what lurks in there now?" Grim asked with a slight tremble. He ran up to you and clung to your leg. You picked him up and he hugged against you.

Small imaginary flowers appeared around you as your tail started wagging again. Deuce and Ace were staring at you. Wether it was because they were confused by your softer side, or because they didn't think your tail would actually start wagging you didn't know.

Never the less the two boys found it rather adorable.

Ace turned away with slight red cheeks and then pointed in the direction of the small house. "Look, I can see a house. Let's see what the people there have to say."

You all walked over to the house while catiously looking around the dark forest around you. You arrived at the door, and knocked softly against the hard wood door.

You waited a bit, until you opened the door when no answer came.

Deuce walked in after you and started looking around like you were. "Hellooo? Is anyone home...? Must be empty. It looks like it's been abanoned."

"And sudden too. Why would they leave all this stuff behind...?" You mumbled to no one in particular.

"Bwah! Y/n watch where you're walking! I got a spider web on my face! Ptchoo! Ptchooo!"

Ace was now also inside together with Yuu. "Look at how tiny these desks and chairs are. Did children live here?"

"It's the Dwarf's Mine Ace. Dwarf's probably lived here." Yuu answered before you could."

Ace nodded at the quite logical answer before going back to looking around. "One, two... Seven! It's like a clown car in here." The ginger said after counting the chairs and desks.

"When the mine was flourishing, this house must have been a lively place." Deuce trailed a hand over one of the dusty desks.

"Well, this isn't getting us anywhere. If we're gonna find a magestone, it'll be inside the mine."

"Ace is right." You agreed to his statement. "Let's head out and go look for the magestone thingy."

You all bee-lined for the door and walked out.

"You wanna go in THERE? It's pitch black inside!" Grim was still clinging onto you. Now even more then before.

"What, are you scared of the dark? Pathetic." Ace immediately took the oppurtunity and started teasing the small creature.

"Ace." Your stern voice stopped him before he could continue nagging the monster.

Yuu snickered slyly at Ace's demise of being called out by you.

"Myah?! I'm not scared of anything! I'm taking the lead. You all follow me!" Grim jumped out of your arms and started marching into the mines.

You followed after him no problem, while Ace, Deuce and Yuu were struggling a bit with navigating through the darkness.

You heard there stuggling from behind you and stopped walking. "Grim, wait one moment."

Everyone stopped walking and you turned to the three boys. You grasped Deuce's gloved left hand, and Ace's bare right one. "Deuce, grab Yuu. I don't want to run around this mine looking for you later."

"All right Grim, let's go again." You all continued walking further into the mine.

Ace was silently screaming to himself to hold in the most girly squeel ever, and Deuce was a blushing mess as you continued to pull the two along.

After walking for a little your ears started twitching. You heard something. Apperently Deuce heard it too, because he stopped in his tracks.

"Huh? Hold up!" He said, swinging his head around to find the source of the noise.

"What now?" Ace sounded annoyed.

"There's something there."

"Myah?!" Grim quickly ran back up to you when he noticed what they were.

"Hee hee hee hee! Visitors! The first in ten years!" A ghost yelled out with glee.

"Do make yourselves at home... You can stay forever!" A second ghost added. He sounded just as happy.

Both ghosts then charged at you, you let go of Ace and Deuce and quickly prepared to fight.

After fighting a sea of never ending ghosts you all started running to get away from them. Only every time you were met with more ghosts dwelling about.

"More ghosts?! They're floating around here too!" Ace yelled as you passed the dozenth hallway.

"If we stop to fight we'll never get anywhere. Just keep moving!" Deuce encouraged.

Earlier when you noticed the ghosts were only going to keep coming you snatched Grim onto your shoulder and took Ace and Deuce's hands again. Deuce grabbed Yuu and now you were pulling all of them along with you through the halls of the mines.

"Sure, but don't act like we voted you team leader, Juice. The only reason we're here in the first place is because of that stupid stunt you pulled." Ace snarled back.

"Ace can you cut out the sas for once?" You commented as you pulled them around a sharp corner.

"Myahh! Y/n, you really need to tell us when you're turning a corner!" Grim screeched out in fear.

"Oh? I'm pretty sure this started because you shrunk your cleaning responsibility." Deuce replied to Ace's negativity.

"So we're bringing up ancient history now? Then if you wanna get down to brass tacks, this all started when furball torched that statue!"

"Actually Ace, if were bringing up 'ancient history', then you torched the statue with Grim's fire, and you started it by making fun of him." You hear Yuu speak from the end of the line.

"Myah?! Yuu is right! Maybe you shouldn'ta made fun of me, then!" Grim yelled over all of them.

"Guys! We're in real hot water, remember?! If we don't come back with a magestone by morning, we're all being expelled!"

"Yeah, which is why we don't need you ordering the rest of us around. It gets old real fast." Ace and Deuce started going back and forth with eachother.

"If you don't stop right now and leaving you behind to those ghosts and getting a magestone for me, Grim and Yuu." You snarled back at them before another voice interupted.

"Wait... I think I heard a voice just now." Yuu said as he slowed down together with the rest of you.

You stopped and took a moment to listen. It didn't take long for you to hear the voice Yuu was talking about.

"...iiivvv.... ...oooouuuu...."

"Huh?!" The other three of your group now heard it aswell.

Ace was the first to speak again. "Wh-where's that comin' from?"

You were staring at the complete end of the hallway, where there was a two way split in the road. You heard the voice from there. You were intensly staring at the split. The others of your group couldn't see that far in the dark, but you luckily could.

"...neeevvvaaa... ...iiivvv... ...ooouuu..."

"Sounds like...it's getting closer..." Deuce said in a hushed voice.

Your eyes turned to the right path of the two way split. You heard loud stomping coming from that way...

A big hand appeared and grasped onto the wall. A huge inky creature with a half broken glass bottle for it's head appeared around the corner. On top of it's glass head was a red hat, and it was wearing a red shirt. There was some sort of dark gooey ink dripping from the crack in it's glass head.

"Stooonesss... Stooonesss aaare miiiiine!" It yelled out with an aggressive tone.

That's when you saw the slight shimer in the wall. Unlike the other gem's in the wall this one stone was glowing brightly and giving off a nice aura. 'Must be the magestone' You thought to yourself.

The monster had come close enough for the others to see it aswell, and they all stared screaming in fear. "Bwah! There it is!"

You spun around and started dashing. You were pulling the boys along again, making sure to keep a pace that wouldn't make them trip.

You were looking around carefully to remember where you were running so you could make your way back to the stone after you got your friends out of there.

"What is that?!" Deuce asked as he turned to stare at the thing chasing you.

"Myaaah! No one said there'd be monsters! Let's get outta here!" Grim yelled in fear.

"That thing's super creepy! But didn't it just say something about "stones"?!" Ace added to the yelling of his friends.

"It did. And I think I saw the stone he was talking about. Only I'm not sure if it's a magestone since I don't know what they look like...." You said, speeding up a bit when you heard the thing coming closer.

"Wait, what?" Grim momentarily paused his distress.

"Stooonesss... ...nevva give stooonesss!"

"So there ARE still magestones here!" Deuce sounded a lot happier then he was before.

"Myaaah... Even as a master sorcerer, I... I don't think I can take that thing down!" Grim said in a tone that indicated he was about to cry.

"But we need a magestone or we'll get expelled! I'm going in!" Deuce tried to let go of your hand, but you just held onto him tighter.

"No you're not. That's a dumb and stupid move. You know nothing about the enemy, not it's weaknesses, not it's abilities, it's basically suicide. Come up with a plan first idiot." You scowled at his stupidness.

"I agree! Are you outta your mind?" Ace yelled at him.

Yuu was also not letting his hand go. "You can't do it alone!"

Deuce once again ignored your advise and pulled away from both you and Yuu.

"I won't be expelled! No matter what!"

I can't believe we've reached that number in a week, thank you so much!<3 Gonna make some drawings of Y/n in Sumeru bc I am currently lacking inspiration :( (These are going to be drawing I made as jokes, so don't judge me if they're bad. They're supposed to be.)
