Chapter 2

Words:1771

"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!"

The boy yelled, and a red and black heart shaped colar appeared around the cat's neck.

"MYAH?! What are you doing?!" He screamed in a confused tone.

"The Queen of Hearts's Rule 23: "One must never bring a cat to a formal affair." Your very presence here is a violation of order. You will vacate these premises immediately." He stated boldly making the animal glare at him.

"I ain't no cat either! Don't you try'n collar me! I'll burn it right off! Huh...? Wh - what gives? My fire ain't workin'!"

"Until I deign to remove that collar, you won't be using any magic. You're naught but a pet cat now." The red haired boy spoke with a smirk.

"M - meoWHAT?! I ain't nobody's pet-NOTHING!"

"Oh, you've got nothing to worry about there. I certainly have no interest in having you as a pet." The boy and creature went back and forth with eachother. "The collar will disappear once you're removed from campus." He finished off at last.

The boy with glasses (Who you identified as Azul earlier because of the strange device) then spoke up again, "Ha-HA! Good show as always, Riddle. Your signature spell locks down any magic. It's quite handy. I've just GOT to have it -- ah, I mean, I've just got to have respect for it."

You glared at him for his suspicious behavior but couldn't say anything off it as you were cut off by the headmage's shouting. "Yuu! Was I not clear that you are expected to take responsibility for your familiar? Now discipling your-"

"He isn't mine! I don't even have a familiar!" Yuu yelled back before the crow could continue. "Ehh, what's that?! It isn't yours?"

"I've told you repearedly that it isn't mine!" He shouted once again. You nodded along with his statement, but shook your head when crowley turned to you with a look that asked if the cat/weasel was yours.

"Oh, is that so?" He cleared his throat awkwardly before continuing. "Then I shall have it expelled form campus. I shall even spare it from being served as dinner. My, but I AM kind. ...Someone take this away, please." He then said while pointing at Grim.

"Nooooo! Let me gooooo! You fools better remember my name! Cause I'm going down in the annals of magic history! Just you wait!" He screamed while getting dragged out the big doors by two students.

"I feel kinda sorry for him." Yuu muttered beside you, causing you to turn to him. "Don't. The thing almost costed you your life." You said with a cold tone.

You watched as his gaze quickly went over your form, from the tips of your ears which were standing upright, to your earings, to your face, to the fangs that popped out when you spoke and then slightly glancing at the tail that was almost not visible behind you before he nodded at your statement.

"Well that was quite the unexpected fracas. I hereby announce that orientation is concluded." The headmage broke the silence in the room. "Housewardens, please escort your student to the dorms."

"Come to think of it, I don't see Housewarden Draconia of of House Diasomnia anywhere..." He looked around the room with a hand to his chin."

The boy with braids sighed before speaking. "And that surprises you? Dude's a total recluse."

The boy with red eyes also started looking around. "Wait a sec... Did anyone even invite him?"

"If you're that worried about him missing out, maybe you should have told him yourself?" The handsome man butted in.

"Maybe, but I don't know him too well either..." The boy with red eyes responded.

Loud murmuring erupted in the room. One student spoke particularly loud. "Draconia... Like, Malleus Draconia? THAT Draconia?"

Another one then spoke aswell. "So it's true? He really does go to school here?" "Yikes." Student C said.

An even shorter boy with a deep voice then started talking. "Ah. Just as I'd expected. I figured I'd come down and see for myself wether Malleus had made an appearance. But once again, he was evidently not informed that his presence was required at an official ceremony."

"You have my sincerest apologies. I assure you this oversight was in no way intended as a snub." Azul said, to which Riddle continued. "I mean, you must admit, he's not the easiest person to strike up a conversation with."

"No matter." The boy with the deep voice said. "All who were assigned to House Diasomnia, follow me. I just hope he doesn't sulk about this..." He then walked away, together with the new Diasomnia students.

You watched him walk away, together with the rest of the housewardens and their students.

"Well, Y/n, Yuu. This is a most unfortunate turn of events. I'm afraid that you will not be attending Night Raven College after all. Surely you realize that I cannot very well admit a student with no magical ability to my academy, or a girl." Crowley muttered when you both turned back to him again.

"I don't mind, I didn't wanna be here anyway." You said with a sharp tone to which Yuu nodded along.

"I agree. I just got snatched up by that scary carriage without consent." He filled in on your comment.

"Yes yes. But worry not. The Dark Mirror will see you safely home." Crowley turned to the mirror, and you could swear you saw him roll his eyes. "Now, step into a gate, and visualize the place from whence you came from."

You both did as he said. You climbed back into one of the coffins and thought about the small cabin you lived in with your papa and Collei.

You heard Yuu mutter from the coffin next to yours. Something along the lines of it being a long dream.

"O Dark Mirror! Return these souls to where they belong!" Crowley chanted loudly. No response was heard, and he coughed awkwardly.

"Ahem, L- let us, er...try this again. O Dark Mirror! Return these souls-"

"There is no such place."

"Excuse me?"

"There is no place in this world where these souls belong. None." The Dark Mirror spoke coldly.

"How can that be? My, but today is a veritable cabalcade of impossible phenomena!" The headmage yelled out dramatically.

You jumped out of the coffin and walked towards the man with the crow mask. "Are you saying I can't go home?" Your eyes were wide, and you were glaring at him menacingly.

Yuu jumped out of his coffin and walked behind you towards the crow why started speaking again. "It appears so. This has never happened throughout my long tenure. I must confess that I am at something of a loss." He took a step away from you.

You stopped in your tracks, and turned slightly towards Yuu, who looked a bit down aswell. "Tell me: From what land do you hail?" The headmage spoke towards both of you, his shoulders relaxing when you stopped walking towards him.

"Sumeru, in Teyvat." You responded almost immediately. "Japan." Yuu muttered after you.

Crowley pondered a bit, his hand up to his chin once again. "I'm afraid I am not familiar with such a place."

Your head snapped towards him, your eyes wide once again. "I beg your absolute finest pardon? Not only did I get kidnapped here, can I not go home, but you haven't even heard of Sumeru?"

"I also have never heard of Sumeru..." Yuu spoke behind you.

"I am intimately acquainted with the origins of every student who has ever come here, and yet... This mysterious homeland of yours eludes me. Let us go to the library and look it up, shall we?"

He turned around dramatically and started taking stupidly big steps towards the door you entered through earlier.

You walked down the path the crow had led you back through earlier into the library where you first met the man.

"Just as I'd suspected. Nothing. Not only are both of your homelands not listed on any map from any point in history. Now, are you QUITE sure that you come from such a place? That wasn't some sort of lie, or jape?"

You turned to him with an 'are you bieng for real right now' face, making him quickly continue. "Because if so, the only explanation is that you've come from another planet. Or perhaps you were summoned here from another dimension?"

"Another dimension?" Yuu yelled out with wide eyes. "Another planet, or even another dimension sounds absurd... But it could be the case." You murmured into your hand.

"Show me everything you brought here with you." Crowley then said. You summoned your spear and bow, which you both layed on the ground. You then reached for the back of your robe and unclipped the vision showing it in your palm.

Crowley inspected the weapons and then the flower with a purple stone in your palm. "Hmm, this does not seem like anything I've seen before. What is it if I may ask?

"It's a vision. It channels electro powers that I'm able to infuse with my weapons to fight." Crowley raised his eyebrows and tried to grab the vision from your hands. You quickly closed your hand and pulled it away from the crow.

He just shrugged it off and turned towards the boy beside you. And you? Do you have some form of identification, a driver's license perhaps? Or even a...shoe? You do seem a tad bit...empty-handed." He said to Yuu.

"As You said, I've got nothing." He answered while patting down his pockets with a confused expression.

"Well this is quite the predicament... I cannot have someone with no apitude for magic bumbling about my magic academy, or a girl about my boys-school. And yet, as an educator, I am loath to expel a young person without a cent to their name, or any ability to contact their guardian. Truly my grace is boundless. Hmmmm."

He thought for a moment before perking up. "Ah! There is a vacant building on the campus. It was, in fact, used as a dorm a long time ago. With a proper cleaning, it should be habitable enough. Out of the profound kindness of my heart, I will allow you to live there for the time being."

You nodded along to what he was saying, looking over your shoulder towards Yuu to see what he was thinking about it. "In the meantime, we will investigate other ways to send you home." Crowley added when seeing Yuu's reluctance. Yuu nodded then nodded aswell.

"Dear me, but I am a gracious man indeed! A model educator, one might say." He mumbled to himself before speaking up again. "Well then, I shall take you to your dorm straight away. It is an older building, but it has plenty of...character, one might say."

You gave him a suspicious look, but followed him out of the library anyways.
