Lucifer layed on the Queen size bed as his eyes looked at the ceiling of the bed.

The golden light of dawn filtered through the lattice windows of [Name's] room, casting a warm glow over the ornate furniture and silk drapes. Lucifer sat on the edge of the bed, his head resting in his hands, his mind lingering on their conversation from the night before.

Lucifer: (in mind) 'I was an angel once,'

He had said. The words still felt strange on his tongue, like speaking a foreign language he hadn't used in centuries. He wasn't sure why he had said it, why he had shared such a personal truth with a mortal woman who clearly distrusted him.

Lucifer sighed and pushed himself off the bed, his long golden cape trailing behind him. As much as he disliked lingering in human dwellings, he couldn't deny the comfort of the silken sheets and the faint scent of silken sheets and the faint scent of incense that filled the air. Stretching his arms, he glanced down at his current attire-his crimson coat, a red-lined and red-trimmed white popped-collared suit with eight golden buttons, his coat worn over a light red and white striped waistcoat with two golden buttons and a small, accessorized black bowtie.

Lucifer: "Too conspicuous,"

He muttered to himself, frowning.

Lucifer: "I need to blend in better if I'm going to roam around this world without being chased again."

He closed his eyes, concentrating. A faint glow enveloped him as his form began to shift. His white skin slowly turned into bright peach as his round rosy-cheeks disappeared, his sharp yellow teeths turned into human like shape but they are white, his light yellow sclera were now white and his crimson eyes were now blue.

When the transformation was complete, Lucifer glanced down at himself, admiring his handiwork.

Lucifer: "Much better."

He said with a satisfied smirk.

???: "Fascinating,"

A voice said from behind him, cold and calm.

Lucifer spun around, his heart nearly leaping out of his chest.

Lucifer: "By the stars, would you stop doing that!"

He exclaimed, placing a hand over his chest.

Standing in the doorway was [Name], her expression as impassive as ever. Her arms were crossed, and her sharp eyes assessed him like he was some peculiar artifact.

[Name]: "I wasn't aware devils could disguise themselves as humans."

She said, stepping into the room.

Lucifer exhaled, trying to steady himself.

Lucifer: "It's a handy little trick, especially when you've had centuries to perfect it. But seriously, do you enjoy sneaking up on me like this?"

[Name] didn't answer. Instead, she walked toward him, her gaze sweeping up and down his newly transformed figure. She stopped just a few steps away, her expression unchanging.

[Name]: "I've never seen someone as short as you."

Lucifer blinked, stunned by her bluntness. He opened his mouth to retort but quickly stopped himself. Instead, he let out a low chuckle and shrugged.

Lucifer: "You're not wrong. I've been told my stature is... unique."

[Name] didn't acknowledge his attempt at humor. Instead, she turned toward the bed, where a folded set of men's hanfu rested. The fabric was simple but elegant-red robes with subtle silver embroidery along the edges, paired with a matching sash. She picked up the garments and handed them to him.

[Name]: "Change into these,"

She said, her tone matter-of-fact.

[Name]: "Your current clothes will draw too much attention."

Lucifer looked down at his outfit-his crimson coat, striped waistcoat, and accessorized bowtie-and let out a dramatic sigh.

Lucifer: "Fair point. But do I really have to give up the boots? They're my favorite."

[Name] shot him a look, one eyebrow slightly raised as if to say, Are you that dense? She shook her head gently and said,

[Name]: "The boots are fine. Just change the rest."

Lucifer grinned, relieved.

Lucifer: "Good. I'd hate to part with these beauties."

He kicked one booted foot forward for emphasis, the polished leather glinting in the morning light.

Turning his back to [Name], he began to change, pulling the hanfu over his lithe frame. The fabric felt strange against his skin-softer and more restrictive than what he was used to. He adjusted the sash awkwardly, muttering under his breath about how mortals managed to function in such attire.

When he was done, he turned to face [Name], spreading his arms dramatically.

Lucifer: "Well? How do I look?"

[Name] glanced at him, her gaze sweeping over the robes and settling on his face.

[Name]: "You look... fine,"

She said flatly.

Lucifer blinked, his confident grin faltering.

Lucifer: "Fine?"

He repeated, giving her a look that practically screamed bro, what!

[Name]: "Yes,"

[Name] replied, her tone as cold as ever.

[Name]: "Fine."

Lucifer stared at her for a moment, as if waiting for her to elaborate, but she said nothing more. Finally, he sighed and shook his head.

Lucifer: "You're impossible, you know that?"

Ignoring his comment, [Name] turned and walked toward the door.

Ignoring his comment, [Name] turned and walked toward the door.

[Name]: "Come. You've rested long enough. It's time for you to leave this room. If anyone asks, you're a distant relative visiting from another province."

Lucifer raised an eyebrow, following her.

Lucifer: "you really thought this through, haven't you?"

[Name]: "I don't leave things to chance,"

She replied without looking back.

Lucifer chuckled, his boots clicking softly against the wooden floor as he followed her. Despite her cold demeanor, there was something oddly refreshing about her blunt honesty. Most mortals he encountered either groveled in fear or tried to manipulate him. [Name], on the other hand, seemed entirely unbothered by his presence-a trait he found both infuriating and fascinating.

As they walked through the corridors of her home, Lucifer couldn't help but glance at her out of the corner of his eye. There was a quiet grace to her movements, a sense of control and purpose that reminded him of the angels he once called siblings.

Lucifer: "You know,"

He said casually, breaking the silence.

Lucifer: "for someone who claims not to trust me, you're surprisingly hospitable."

[Name] glanced at him briefly before looking ahead again.

[Name]: "Don't mistake pragmatism for kindness. Keeping you hidden is in my best interest, not yours."

Lucifer smirked, his teeth glinting. "Fair enough. But for what it's worth, I appreciate it."

Fengxian said nothing, her expression as unreadable as ever.

As they stepped outside into the garden, the morning sun bathed them in golden light. Lucifer took a deep breath, savoring the fresh air and the scent of blooming flowers in golden light. Lucifer took a deep breath, savoring the fresh air and the scent of blooming flowers.

For the first time in centuries, he felt... human.
