"Oh, there you are!" Ryoto perked up as I entered the abandoned shop with Kibo in my hands. "Yeah, yeah. Let's go." I placed the dog down, picked up the duffle bag, grabbed his hand and walked away. "Where?" He asked cautiously. "No time to explain, we better hurry." I grumbled while re-adjusting the bag's strap around my shoulder. "And by the way, why am I always carrying our stuff?!" I hanged the duffle bag around his healthy hand. "That's better!" I sighed and continued walking.
It was really depressing seeing all those familiar buildings being destroyed. There's my favorite cafe, here's the sports shop where I bought the baseball bats and here. . . Here's the Hope's peak academy. I averted my gaze and started walking faster. As we walked we noticed lots of dead bodies lying here and there. The first floors of the remaining constructions were painted red with blood. How could it happen? In just one month. . .
As we reached the building on Tori street we sprinted upstairs. I checked the labels on the door. "Here." I opened the door with number forty-four written on it. It was a small apartment with one kitchen and a bathroom. Instead of bedrooms there were simple living room with sofa, TV, bookshelf and a wardrobe. "How did you find this place?" Ryoto kept the bag on the sofa. "Not me, Nagito found it. He left a note." I showed him the little yellow paper.

While he was examining it I rummaged through wardrobe. There was one futon on the highest shelf, that's it. Walking into the kitchen I saw another yellow sticky note.

Hope you'll like living in here!
It's quite small, but it's near the centre of the city,
Plus, it has all the necessary things for
comfortable living. ; )

That dork. I opened refrigerator to see a plenty of food in there. "You're quite lucky, having such guy like him covering your back." Ryoto spoke. "Yeah. . . Lucky." I chuckled bitterly. "So, what now?" He asked. "Do whatever you want." I shrugged and took out (favorite snack). I made my way to the living room and turned on the TV. It was a broadcast of the previously mentioned killing school game. It was the third trial, two murders occurred, one of that fatty weirdo and hallway monitor guy. "Oh my god! Are you really watching this?!" Mitarai closed his eyes and turned around. "It's not porn or anything. I'm just interested in Kirigiri's daughter." I said looking back at the screen. "Headmaster Kirigiri had a daughter?!" Ryoto exclaimed clearly surprised. "Well, yeah." I shrugged munching on the snack.
"Who do you think the killer is?" Ryoto took a seat next to me. "Definitely the gothic gambler." I pointed onto the girl. "Why?" He asked. "Meh, just gut feeling." I shrugged.

Few hours passed like minutes and Celeste was found guilty. After the execution the broadcast was cut. "I'm going to have nightmares after this." Ryoto grumbled as he rubbed his sleepy eyes. "Yeah, we better go to sleep already." I yawned. "I'll take the futon, you can sleep on the couch." He walked towards the wardrobe. "Yeah sure, whatever." I stretched and made myself comfortable. As I watched Ryoto prepare a futon for himself I slowly drifted off into sleep.

It was late noon when I woke up. I opened my eyes and looked around the apartment. Silence. The only thing the Tragedy taught me is - if you hear silence it's an emergency alarm. Dashing up from the sofa I started searching for Ryoto. He was nowhere to be found, nor was Kibo. I quickly scanned all the apartment. It was empty. I opened the duffle bag and took out one baseball bat. I swung the door open and ran downstairs. "Hi (Your name)!" Ryoto greeted me as he walked upstairs. "Hi- wait! Where were you?!" I growled. "Walking with Kibo, he looked upset." My gaze shifted towards the brown pup. He started wiggling his tail. "Ugh. . . You made me worried sick." I grumbled as we strolled back inside.

"Anyway, I find it weird." I rubbed my head. "What exactly?" Ryoto closed the door. "Why have I woke up so late? I mean, after tragedy I can hardly get any rest, and now, this." I fell on the sofa. "You don't remember?" Mitarai looked very surprised. "Remember what?" I squinted my eyes. "Early in the morning we heard a knock, you thought it was those people who tried to kill us. You picked up the bat and was about to attack a man on the other side. He knocked you out." He explained. "Tch. Impossible!" I scoffed. "I also thought that was impossible, but those guys were from some organisation who help people in Tragedy. They gave us some food and medications." Ryoto opened the fridge.
"Organisation? Charity of sort?" I asked. "Hmm. . . I think their job is to stop Tragedy. They fight for hope." He smiled dreamily. "Idiots." I mumbled and leaned on the kitchen doorframe. "What?!" Mitarai turned towards me. "I said, idiots! They must fight for world peace! For bright future! Not for hope or despair thingy. It's quite impossible anyway." I shrugged and plopped back onto the sofa. "Why not? Hope must always win! I think it's possible to eradicate despair, if we fight hard enough!" Mitarai exclaimed as determination shone in his eyes. "Dumbass. Hope, despair, they both are important and it's impossible to eradicate one or another." I closed my eyes. "Why do you think so?" Ryoto set the tea pot on and walked out of the kitchen. "Isn't it obvious? If there's no hope, there's no despair. And vice versa." I sat up.

"I don't think I get you." He rubbed his chin as he sat on the floor. "Ugh. Imagine, if there were no despair, no sadness no anger no worry. How would you feel?" I turned towards Ryoto. "I would be happy." He smiled. "You're not imagining it. I mean what if there was no despair at all." I groaned. "Hmm. . ." He mused. "Not getting it? Okay, I'll explain in another away." I sighed. "The "perfect" world, without despair, everything is joyful and peaceful. But, is it really hope? Just to live lackadaisically, without a care in the world. Can you call it hope? Having no problems at all. I think it would be a weird world. If there's no problems, there's no reason to have hope. Hope, is our beliefs in good that will happen after something bad. If everything will be perfect, there will be no more hope. Same goes with despair, if we won't hope for good we won't notice bad, which is despair." I stood up.

Walking inside the kitchen I opened one cabinet and took out ramen with (favorite flavor).

Unpacking the noodles I poured the hot water inside a plastic cup with noodely goodness and added flavoring packet. "I'm a bit confused. Earlier you said that it's impossible to eradicate hope or despair. Why?" Ryoto took out ramen with chicken flavour and started prepairing his portion. "Simple. Let's take Nagito as example, he's the remnant of despair, what are you going to do with it? Blow his brains out? It will cause only more despair." I took out the chopsticks. "How come?" He mixed the noodles. "His death will make me filled with despair, and if I'll be angry or sad I'll blow out the entire world!" I exclaimed. "Now, stop asking dumb questions. I have to watch my new episode now." I sat on the floor and turned on the TV.

"Shit! This can't be happening!" I yelled. "Wha- what's going on?!" Ryoto hastily ran out the bathroom slipping on the way. "The buff gal got killed! And I had high hopes for her. . ." I mumbled sadly. "Please, don't scare me like that!" He sighed with relief and went inside. After few minutes the broadcast was finished, I sighed and threw empty plastic bowl into the garbage can. I looked at my roommate.
Ryoto made himself a cup of tea as he was reading some book. "By the way, you said something about organisation, right?" I sat next to him. "Huh? Oh right! The future organisation, they fight with remnants of despair and try to bring things back to normal." Ryoto smiled. "I see. Is there any way we can join them?" I looked at him. "You want to join? What about Na-" "I know what I said. Now, reply." I glared at him. "They a-actually wanted u-us to join." He looked away. "Why haven't you told me this before?!" I snapped. "I-it's j-just. . . Nagito i-is like. . . And t-they f-fight with them r-r-right?" He started blabbering nonsense. "Gah! Calm down." I patted him on the shoulder. "They also gave us this." He handed me a note.

'If you decide to join us, come tomorrow to Basho street 2pm sharp.'

"Ooh, those guys are the real-deal." I scoffed. "I'll go, the rest is up to you." I handed him the paper. "I'll go too!" He claimed. "Good." I stood up and strolled outside. "Wait! Where you going?! It's raining cats and dogs!" Ryoto exclaimed. I slowly stretched my hand out as few drops of liquid fell into my palm. "It's raining fucking water." I said with deadpan. "You know what I meant! You'll get sick!" He held my hand. "What is it to you?" I raised my eyebrow and walked away.

As I strolled on an empty street many thoughts crossed my mind. What if its better to not join them? Will I be forced to capture or kill my classmates if I do join? What will happen to me? Will I survive till the very end? Will I keep my promise? What if all my friends will die? Or I'll get killed by Nagito?

Pfft. . . Last question was a complete nonsense.

.

.

.

Or, was it?

He helped me all this time, gave me a place to live, saved my life once. But, why? Because of love? Then why does he stay away from me? Is he scared? What if he thinks that I'm scared? What if he thinks that I'll be disgusted by him? Or, perhaps, he doesn't want me to interrupt his plans? Or to interfere at all? What if I'm a bother to him?
"Ugh! Damn you, Nagito!" I yelled out loud not bothering if anyone will see me.

I looked up into the sky and fell on my knees. I slowly opened my eyes and saw an umbrella hovering above me. "What are you doing dumbass?" I heard a rough masculine voice say. I looked at the owner of umbrella, dark green hair, red eyes. "Who the hell are you?" I squinted. "You're that girl who tried to attack me earlier, don't you remember?" He grinned proudly. "And you're that prick who gently knocked me out." I scoffed and stood up. "I had no choice, sweetheart I-" "Don't you FUCKING dare call me that." I glared at him. "Woah! Calm down, I don't want to hurt ya, okay? I still need you two to join the Future foundation." He grumbled. "What's your name?" I calmed down a little. "Sakakura Juzo." He spat.

    "Juzo, you disgust me."

I pointed away from me. "Too bad! If you want to join the future foundation, you'll see my face almost every day!" He scoffed and walked away.

When umbrella was gone I felt how cold little droplets of water fell onto my head and shoulders. I stood there in the middle of nowhere deep in my thoughts. Suddenly I felt someone grab my hand and drag me towards an unknown direction. Their hand was so warm and soft. I looked at the person in front of me. "Ryoto?" I spoke. "Damn you, (Your name)!" He growled. "Nagito will burn me alive if you'll catch cold!" Mitarai grumbled as we went back inside.
"Wait." He ordered. "Here." Ryoto gave me a towel and pointed towards the bathroom. "Bathtub is ready." He opened the door for me and walked away. "Thank you." I smiled and went inside the bathroom. Taking my clothes off I stepped inside the warm water. Slowly laying in the bathtub I leaned my head on the wall and sighed. As I was relaxing in the foam and bubbles I heard the door open. My eyes shot open as I looked at the pervert. "Hey! What t-" "Good to see you again, sweetheart." Nagito smiled.
"D. . . Dandelion-head!" I beamed and was about to hug him until realized that I was naked. Blushing I covered my nudity with foam. "S-so. . . Ahem. What brings you here?" I smiled. "Why so formal?" He chuckled. "I missed you too." Nagito cupped my cheek in his palm. "Actually, I need your help. Are you ready to-" "Anything! I'll help you with anything I can!" I nodded determined in my will. "Good to hear, you're a true hope!" He smiled creepily. "Now, umm. . . You need help with?" I averted my gaze.
"Join future foundation." Nagito stated. "You crazy?! What if I have to fight you?" I exclaimed. "Let me finish. You can join the foundation and be my little spy." He giggled. "I'll make sure that none of us die and got found out." Dandelion pecked my cheek. "Promise?" I blushed looking away. "Promise." He nodded. "Fine then." I sighed. "By the way, you better get close to that Juzo guy. He seems to be the closest person to the headquarters." Nagito added. "But how will we share our information?" I asked. "Don't worry. Good night." He leaned in and kissed my lips I opened my mouth but he pulled away. "I won't let you go that easy!" I grabbed his fluffy white hair and pulled him close again.
"Goodbye now, sweetheart." Nagito licked his lips and smirked. "Bye, Dandelion-head." I frowned.
