"Omega he will be fine. If anything he'll be safer than us." I felt her anxiety skyrocket and I immediately regretted my words.
"I-I didn't mean it... like that. Look the point is he will be fine. But for the good of the squad we have to get the part so we can get off this forceforsaken rock!" I didn't mean to raise my voice it just kind of happened.
"I blindly trusted the Kaminoens, the clones and look what that got us. Got Wrecker shot, a saddened Sargeant, and one less bad batcher!" One less? Wait but I thought there were only 4 original members of the bad batch. That's what they told me. But if Echo was originally apart of the 501st with me then he wouldn't be included in the batch which means, oh my force! The bad batch lost a batcher! Now that I think about it I do remember Cut and Suu asking about a person who I believe was called, Crosshair?
"I'm sorry for your loss. But I'm not asking for your blind trust. I'm asking for you to keep an open mind about me. We are both new members to the batch and I understand what your going through. So much crap has happened in the past few days. So much crap! But I need you to have an open mind so I can earn your trust. Can you do that? Keep an open mind?" She was hesitant but nodded.
"Good, now. Is it okay with you if we move out?" She reluctantly nodded. I smiled at her and she smiled back. I motioned for her to walk and she did so. The whole time we were walking I was telling her how the force works and telling her how to use it to track the dragon. I could sense she was staying true to her word and started trusting me more and more as we were walking. I know I said she needed to get her kyber crystal before I teach her more but that was my temple training I was thinking of. I need to move on and teach her things differently than I was taught. I need to teach her things my way.
"Need help climbing?" I offered her but she politely turned down my offer when she started climbing up the rather large hill type thing herself. A proud smirk spread across my face as I saw her independently leap up and hop in the hell hole known as my life. No I'm kidding, she just hopped in the regular hole in the small mountain dune we climbed.
"Do you have a flashlight?" Omega asked me. I scoffed and hopped down with her.
"Don't need one." I activated my light saber as I landed. It was a little tight for me but I managed. Omega turned on her flashlight but it barely made a difference. It was almost laughable. I stifled a laugh she playfully rolled her eyes and we moved on.
"Um, master?" Hearing it again made my heart flutter before I refocused.
"Yes Omega?"
"Look." I pointed my light saber to where she was looking.
"Claw marks. I don't like that one bit. But at least we know the dragon is down here. I can sense it and hear it." Suddenly my heart wrenched. I felt a pain in my chest and fell to the floor. I don't know what it was but I know something horrible just happened somewhere in the galaxy. I groaned and sat up. Whatever the pain will have to wait. The impoetant thing is Omega has her first lesson learned.
