Okay I know the past few chapters have been a bit boring but I promise after this one it picks up.

Ahsoka's pov
I can't believe after all thie time and Bail's infinite access to knowledge as a Senator he still didn't know about inhibitor chips. So after introductions between everyome Kix, Crosshair and Rex were going into great detail about the side effects of the inhibitor chips to Bail.

"While they're busy, let's discuss the new mission." That caught my attention away from the chip convo.

"New mission? But Ahsoka said we were only here to inspect y-" I immediately stuffed my hand over Omega's mouth to shut her up. Once she got the idea I let go. Wolffe and Gregor could take it the wrong way.

"You wound me Commander. Do you not trust us clones?" Did Gregor seriously just ask that. I stared at him and motioned to literally everyone around me which was Fives, Echo, Omega, Hunter, Wrecker, and Tech. So basically everyone aroundme was a clone.

"Yeah. Clearly I'm a cloneaphobic." We gave each other fake smiles but our friends pulled us away from each other. Omega took my place instead.

"What's the new mission Mr. Wolffe?" She asked im her kindest and most innocent voice possible. Its probably best to have people underestimate you now and end up regretting it later. Well it worked for me anyways.

"It's just a simple protection detail. We think that Darth Vader is gonna try to pull another kidnapping, but not of his daughter this time." Kix, Rex and Snarky finally decided to join us which is why Kix took charge again. I always knew he was a good leader at heart.

"If the Empire is to stay in power they require strength. While there is no denying Darth Vader is the strongest enemy we know of right now, we could be faced with even stronger. We believe - and our opinion is based on data and past prison breakings - that Darth Vader is forming an army of trained sith lords." The loud gasp that escaped my mouth was completely involuntary, it just happened. An army of sith lords? I know Omega and I have skills but we couldn't possibly take on an army of trained sith assassins. It'd be like battling a whole company of Ventress'.

"So you believe you know where and who Darth Vader will try to recruit next?" Hunter dared ask the question U was afraid of knowing the answer to. The way Kix looked from Hunter to me specifically, let's just say it scared the living shit out of me.

"At one of our most srcure facilitjes we have managed to hang on t-to..." there was that little look Kix sent me when his voice trailed off again. It deeply bothered me. I have a bad feeling about this.

"The person you need you to protect is Bariss Offee!" They all looked at me to see my reaction but I didn't have one. On the outside I was as cool as blue milk, on the inside I just created a new death note with Offee's name on it. Kix and Rex both put their hands on mg shoulders which took me out of my death note just before I signed it.

"Hm? Oh don't even worry Nurse. A profection detail for tjat snake will be easy. I mean, it'll be easy for you guys to protect her corpse when I'm through with her." Rex had to grab my arms because I was literally about to punch the wall with no hand gear or gloves on.

"Cyare!" He yelled trying to get mg attention but all it did was gef everybody elses.

"Let me go before I-" He sruffed his hand over my mouth while I wrestled and tried to yell, but it came out like muffled screaming. In my peripheral vision I could see Omega clearly walking over to me with the little shit eating smirk face I always did. Is that what it feels like to be on the other side of it?

"That's how it feels." My eyes automatically looked down but all I could see was my nose. Wow so smart Ahsoka! Really brilliant thinking. I turned around and eyed Rex, motioning with just my eyes I b was fine and not protesting anymore. He reluctantly made more space between his arms and I.

"Okay okay. We'll take the mission I guess. But I don't want to be anywhere near that hunk of junk. Not that she has any junk. She's more of a skinny string bean than Crosshair." Who glared at me through the visior of his helmet. I chuckled softly and smiled at him.

"Sorry?" He sighed and rolled his eyes. When Bail strutted in as professionally as always the first person he looked at was Crosshair, then to me ranting about how horrible Bariss Offee is.

"Um what's with her?" He asked Rexbwho just happened to be closest to him.

"We got our new mission. She's not very fond of her old friend Offee. Or the idea of protecting her." And she's just so weak! She looks like she was conceived by a kriffing frog and some weird wacked up space lizard.!

"Plus Mrs. Tano is going through the beginning stages of pregnancy which increases all emotional attachments and can make her feel more vulnerable and get wounded or tired easier." Tech spat out while never looking up from his datapad, as if my pregnancy was basic knowledge everyone was expected to know. That for shre broke me out of my Offee insult rampage.

"Tech!" When he heard the sharpness of my tone he finally looked up.

"What?" I sighed and punched the bridge of my nose. Otherwise known as 'pulling a modified Obi-mom'.

"I honestly don't see what I said wrong." That in itself was sad. How is he the smartest man I know yet he can be so oblivious sometimes. Now I see which big brother Wrecker learned it from.

"Your pre- did he say Mrs!? As in married Mrs. Tano!? When did this happen!?!" Oh boy. How was I supposed to admit to him that I married right before the temple bombing trial? I took a deep breath and just went for it.

"I was only 16 but Rex and I didn't want to go out of this galaxy not tied to each other so we made a brash decision. Luckily it ended up being the right decision, but still a hasty one that I don't regret." In the middle of my quick explanation I didn't even realize Rex and my hand has been intertwined. Bail seemed to accept that answer.

"Now you are..."

"18."

"And pregnant." I gulped down my lunch that was trying to come back up my throat so I could taste it all over again. Yikes sorry that was so descriptive.

"So what? I'm ecstatic to be having a baby soon." He rubbed his temples and sighed but didn't look angry anymore. I'm probably the reason he all of the sudden has a total of four grey hairs now.

"What trimester are you in?"

"The first." Uh oh were moving back down to angry.

"What month!?"

"Uh... the first. But! Only 8 months away and little Leia will have a friend. Isn't that exciting?" Bail only sighed and pulled an Obi-mom on us.

"Well I guess we'll have to call off the mission then. Kix, have every member in the prison station evacuate imme-"

"What? No of course not! We don't meiloorun pick what missions we go on." I butted in. Kix looked back and forth between Bail and I.

"W-Who do I report to..." Kix muttered, no doubt experiencing a minor existential crisis.

Is he having a mid life crisis? Omega asked though my brain.

Well who knows? He could die at 22 I guess. Omega snorted of laughter and all attention was on her accidentally. Hearing her loud childisj snort triggered them to laugh as well I guess.

"Can we please go back to what's really important?" Wolffe said but everyone was too busy laughimg to notice him. Once it died down he was glaring at everybody, especially Omega. Jeez what animal died in his exhaust vent today?

"But Ahsoka can't come on mission when she's with child." Wrecker so helpfully pointed out as if we haven't been discussing it for the past 10 minutes.

"Well back in the day, the Bad Batch was rid of any jedi prescence and managed to maintained a 100% success rate. And it is well known scross the universe that the regs were far superior than any regular soldier. Though it will be difficult without one of our fearless leaders, I'm sure we can manage." Fianlly, somethimg that was helpful. Hallelujah Tech.

"I don't know Tech. Leading a small squadron of 3 other people is one thing, any more would just be chaotic for me. My sensory overloads could come back at any time." Hunter warned them. He once told me about his sensory overloads he experienced during his first few missions. Hunter said at first it almost screwed up the whole first mission but it eventually worked out once Tech instructed him on his breathing exercises amd how to calm himself down. Sensory overloads were described to me as when all of your senses get jumbled up and mess with your brain, making you see, smell and hear things that aren't really there.

"Goggle's right, you've all been on your own before. Just pretend you added a few extra members to the team. Cause ya know, ya did." Gregor backed us up. While this was making me feel a little unneeded, somehow deep down I know they had the capability to be just fine without me. Whether or not they would all rise up to the occasion, that was in their hands only.

"Hunter. You won't be leading alone. Rex can be in charge of the arc twins and Omega. You just be the Sargeant of your squad. And Rex will be the Captain of his." Omega tugged on Hunter's arm so he peered down at her, his facial expression immediately softens.

"Plus you'll have AZI with you. He's helpful, right?" Hunter merely smiled in response to the young girl.

"As long as tou say he is, I'll take your word for it." He replied qnd patted her head lightly, causing her to giggle.

"Rex are you comfortable with this?" He gave a stiff nod and glanced around the room looking to see if eveeybody else agreed. Surprisingly Crosshair was the one to step forward and speak out.

"But if this Offee chick is so dangerous that the Darth Vader would be after her, then what makes you think a few clones can keep her contained?" Seeing fhe fire in Bail's eyes made me shiver. I saw the same determined look I always used to see in Padme.

"Because of him." Even more surprisingly, Bail pointed to Fives. Fives looked from side to side silently asking if Bail was really talking about him. Echo and Yech standing mext to him stepped away with their hands raised.

"M-Me?"

"Yes. You. Captain Rex told Commander Kix about what you did to Vader. If Fives can defeat a sith lord, you all can to." I couldn't help the snort that escaped my lips.

"Thank you? I think..." Echo patted Fives on the back and at fhe same time was literally wheezing.

"But the only reason Fives got the shot in on Vader was because Ahsoka was, how do I put this? A major distraction." Tech told fhe Senator.

"Trust me, Rex was equally distracting. I have full confidence that ypu all will do perfectly fine. Besides it's not like Vader specifically coming to fetch goth girl Bariss Offee, but that doesn'tean you also shouldn't be alert at all times. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best." Only a few of them really took my message to heart. Omega being one of the few.

"So we are going on the mission?" Echo asked, looking between Hunter and I.

"Yes Echo. You all will be going on the miss-ah!" My ankle out of nowhere just buckled. I fell on the floor in a kneeling type position with Crosshair and Rex immediately by my side assisting me back up. Once I was on my feet Crosshair put his toothpick back in his mouth and let go but Rex never did.

"I'm fine Rex." I tried to shoo him away but like I said, he wouldn't leave.

"Are you? Because it takes real talent to trip on a flat surface and injure yourself." Now instead of asking I yanked my arms out of his grip.

"I didn't trip! It isnt my fault it's the- nevermind. You wouldn't understand." I brushed it off but in reality I knew what it was. Tech had been nice enough to inform me of all possible side effects of pregnancy. Swollen ankles aren't supposed to occur for a few weeks at least but Tech did say it can vary depending on the person. Guess I'll have to get used to this.

"Are we leaving or not!?" Poor Echo just wanted some clarity here.

"Everyone else is. I'm staying here to wish you luck from the sidelines." I told him with a sad smile. Echo nodded amd returned the obviously fake smile.

"When do we leave for the mission?" Rex asked, his voice startling me from behind.

"As soon as you are ready. I already told my people to restock your ship with the freshest of food and supplies." I nodded and smiled qt Bail. I was thankful for his help in the supply department since that was really the only thing we were lacking but it appears I was the only one.

"You sent people into our ship? Without permission?" Hunter asked, but not really. Bail didn't say a word as a response, he just maintained eye contact with Hunter.

"Maybe one of us should stay behind with Ahsoka to ease the tension." Tech suggested.

"I think that's a splended idea. Whatever your comfortable with." They all looked around to see who the lucky winner wpuld be. At first everyone glanced at Rex but he had to lead his squad. The next victim they looked ti was Omega but it'd probably be best to have at least one jedi there. Now no one knew what to do.

"I'll do it." My eyes widened at Crosshair's volunteering. Although I don't know why. He has expressed many times how he thinks he's 'forever in my debt' and 'owes me' for saving him from his inhibitor chip Imperial incident.

"Ahsoka?" Rex asked placimg his hands on my waist. I placed my hands ovee top of his and peered behind me just barely making eye contact.

"I'm fine with it." Rex sighed but smuled at me and put his head in between my montrals again.

"Seriously in public?" I whispered to him.

"Why not?" He didn't pull away or anything amd neither did I. We did get a few stares and an eyeroll from the Snarky sniper but neither of uw cared.

"Yeah we should probably leave before this gets even weirder." Fives suggested before he booked it out the door with Echo hot on his tail. Tech chuckled and headed put the door with Wrecker too. All of them made sure to wave bye to Kix and Gregor though.

"Crosshair, if anyone touches her wrongly, shoot them."

"Hunter!" I scolded. However that didn't stop Crosshair from nodding to Hunter's order.

"What? I'm just looking out for you." Rex's grip around my waist tightened slightly as he leaned closer.

"Watch it Sargeant. That's my job." He kissed my forehead before leaving like the others.

"I'm serious Ahsoka. Be careful."

---

A couple hours had passed at least. They must be at the mission site by now right? I just had so many questions racing through my brain with no answers. As I paced around the command feck the only peiple there were the maintenance workers and Crosshair who never took his eyes away from me. Well he's sticking to his job at least. I didn't stop pacing when the door opened. Crosshair flinched and his hand flew to his blqster handle, but that's as far as he got before realizing it was just Bail. Even then his hand lingered on the DC-17 pistol longer than they should've.

"Shall I take you on a walk to calm your nerves?" Even after this I never stopped pacing but instead of going back and forth I just waltzed out the door. I could hear Bail and Crosshair's heavy footsteps and armor clanking behind me as they ran to catch up.

"Ahsoka I've been meaning to ask you something." Bail came up by my side but Crosshair stood in the back to keep watch.

"Which is?"

"Are you okay, and will you be in the future?" No. I am about a month pregnant with a force sensitive child, am living in my ship, can't seem to let go of the past, my twam could literally be on brink of death right now and I wouldn't be able to fo jackshit about it, and to top it all of we're all broke. So bitch no I am not okay!

"Perfectly fine. Why do you ask?" He didn't seem to buy it.

"Well... let's just say I know how expensice it is to have a kid. When my wife got- had Leia it cost 5,000 Imperial credits just to leave the hospital. Not to mention she's a very picky eater. I fpumd put the hard way qhen she barces her meiloorun squash on my outfit." I chuckled lightly, imagining Bail with bright pink chewed up baby food on his facial hair he'd grown.

"Plus the thing children need most of: attention. How are you planning on giving your child the proper care and attention they deserve while barely surviving?" Why do I feel like I know where this is going.

"Well to be honest I haven't planned that far ahead. Staying alive is really time consuming." I could hear Crosshair scoff behind me.

"As one would assume so. But now that the intensity of battle is gone, think about it. How are you going to raise your child with no support other than your brothers? What kind of mother do you want to be?" That last part made me stop dead in my tracks making Crosshair walk into me. He was clearlg aggitated with me and cursed but somehow my mimd just drowned everything put to focus on the question I couldn't before today. What kind of mother do I want to be?
