"Fun"

"Woah woah woah, so you're here to tell me that you shot that awesome shot with your eyes closed?!" Goldberg repeated

I told everyone and Coach Bombay that I didn't see the shot at all. They were surprised since they said it was a good one. Even Luis himself said it was an amazing shot.

"Oh well, it's not so bad right? We still have a bunch of games to go" I continued as I sipped my drink

"Nai is right. This is just the beginning, we need to start working harder if we wanna go to the championship" Connie added

"I agree is Connie, this game was easy, but it'll soon get harder. For now let's just enjoy ourselves. We worked hard enough today" Charlie said

Luis quickly runs up to me and the others, a smile plastered on his face "Hey Nai! They have Marvel vs Capcom!"

"Shut up!" I smiled back "GET READY TO GET BEAT LUIS!"

"I'm confused, what's so important about that game?" Connie asked as she follows us

Luis and I stop on our tracks as he looked back at her "WHAT?!"

"That game is pretty much our childhood! The best of the best, the extreme, the-"

"It's a good game! Hear you loud and clear"

"But I was the better gamer since I won the most" I cleared my throat as Connie laughs

"We'll see about that Nai"

Luis and I cherish this game because it pretty much was our childhood since we were 8. We would go to an arcade downtown of Miami and play there every 2 days right after school. It was like a routine we had until he left. I didn't go as much since it wasn't the same without him.

CONNIE'S POV

"I call Ryu!" Nai smiled

"Bullshit Nai" Luis groans "You know damn well I always play him"

I watched as Nai and Luis share a laugh as they continue picking a character. To be honest, I felt a bit excluded. Sure Nai and Luis have some things alike... or pretty much anything alike if I'm being honest. Anything I ask Luis- like what's his favorite ice cream- he'll go on and say "I remember Nai and I used to eat the heck out of chocolate fudge so that's my favorite flavor til this day!". No matter what, all his stories, Nai would be in the picture.

Oh no don't tell me I'm- I can't be jealous of Nairobi. She's been nothing but supportive and caring to Luis and I. We even thought to have a girls night with Julie for crying out loud! But... it sucks that I don't have any similar interests with Luis.

"Hey Con"

I almost forgot I was watching Luis and Nai play a game "Huh what?"

"Oh sorry about that, I was wondering if you have a ride home?" Luis asks, trying to focus on the game

"Actually, I don't"

"My mom can pick us up, Nai said she don't got a ride either so the three of us can hop on my moms car" he explained "NAI THAT'S CHEATING"

"Jumping isn't cheating dumbass!" She laughs

"Nai... Nai this... Nai that..."

"That's great! I should go tell Julie we're leaving in a bit" I smiled "Boom! That's a win for Naiiii"

Deep down I know something was wrong about me. Being jealous of Nai for no reason? What can I do? Tell her and say "Hey I'm jealous of you hogging my boyfriend"? Not only that, but she's able to communicate with everyone and be social.

NAI'S POV

"Andddd that's another win!" I cheered "Who else wants to stand up and defeat the mighty warrior of this game?"

"Hell no! I already had my battle and I ain't gonna get sacked again" Russ says as he backs up

Everyone else shakes their heads. I said it once and I'll say it again, no one can beat me in Marvel vs Capcom, unless it was my dad- now that's someone that can play.

"Wow Nai, you sure are good! Got any tips for a noob?" Ken asked

"Hmm... don't play Hulk? Otherwise you'll be like Luis here with a 4 and 0"

Luis looks back at us "He's underrated!"

"Well now I know Nai's advice will be useful"

"I mean it's not- Y'know what yeah use that knowledge for when you play with someone"

"Hey Nai! My moms here to pick us up"

"Well guess it was fun while it lasted. See you guys tomorrow!" I waved goodbye

"Bye Nai! Bye Luis!"

I followed Luis out the arcade. Before we began our conversation we heard a door shut from behind us loudly. We both turn around to see Connie standing there in anger.

"Shit Connie I'm so sorry! I didn't know you were still in there. I guess I wasn't paying attention while I was saying my goodbyes" Luis apologized

Hell, even I almost forgot about Connie, she was really quiet than usual. I felt really bad and apologized as well.

She took a deep breath "It's totally fine! Where is your mom?"

From a female to a female, I knew she wasn't fine. In fact, she was fucking pissed! It wasn't my place to say anything about it, so I decided to keep my mouth shut.

"She's supposed to be here right-"

There was a loud sound of classical Mexican music blasting down the road, until we saw a red Honda park in front of us. Even from down the street, I knew it was Luis' mom.

"Alright youngsters hop on!" His mom smiles

"Thanks for the ride Mrs.Mendoza"

"Nai you know damn well to call me Nina. When I hear 'Mrs' I think of my mother" she sighs "And I ain't that old either"

I smile "You know how I am. My mom taught me to be polite"

"Remember this car?" Luis asked as we hop on "It's been a while since you've seen Red Rebecca"

"You kidding? I remembered how we both threw up for going on too many rides and eating cotton candy!" I giggled "My bad Rebecca"

"Don't forget about the hot dogs!" Nina added as we laugh "She may be an old lady, but she can still ride just fine"

I noticed that Connie felt excluded from all of this. I didn't want her to feel even more left out.

"So Connie!" I began "Have you ever been to rollercoasters?"

"I been to a few..."

"There's a sea world in Orlando and let me tell you- the rides will literally make your brain go different directions! I almost puked on the people behind me because I was so dizzy"

"That sounds... great Nai"

"Maybe I can take you there when my mom and I travel back just to see some folks?" I smiled

She smiled a bit "That would be fun. Can we bring Julie?"

"Course we can! It'll be a girls night out!"

"Wow leaving me out?" Luis nudges me "I see how it is"

"Oh I didn't know you were a girl Luis" I giggled "Or should I say Louisa"

"That was a joke we made ten years ago! It's not funny anymore!"

I smirk "You sure Louisa"

Connie giggles "It's kinda funny"

"Okay okay- just a bit funny, but you better not tell the guys! They'll make fun of me for sure"

We stopped by my place first since Connie's and Luis's place were blocks away. I waved goodbye to everyone as I headed inside.

"Nai is that you?" Mom called out

"Yeah mamá! It's me!" I called back as I pet Nico

"How was the game?" She asks "Wait, is that ice cream?"

"Yeah, this arcade that Charlie showed us had ice cream and I wanted to bring you some. Plus the game was awesome! We won and I made the last goal! But I didn't really see it, but I made it! The rest of the team thought it was amazing but I said 'eh' and then we got ice cream to celebrate!" I babbled

"Woah slow down there sweetheart. I'm glad you had fun today. I'm sorry I couldn't go"

"It's ok, you should worry about your job. It's important after all"

"But you are also important and so is Nico"

"Don't worry about us, we can take care of ourselves. Ain't that right Nico?" I smiled as I gently picked him up "I better head to bed now. I don't remember what time is it"

"Ok, night love"

"Night!" I said as I went upstairs to my room.

Man today was great. Won first game, then got ice cream and bonded more with Luis. Now for this week is a movie night with Luis and his mom along with date night with Dean for the day after. Wait a minute... A DATE WITH DEAN?!

"MAMÁÁÁ!" I shouted as loud as I can

I hear her get out of her bed as she sprinted towards my room, almost stumbling over.

"What happened?!" She asked worriedly

"I have a date with Dean that's what happened!" I answered "And it's on Saturday!"

"Mija (daughter) you scared the shit out of me" she huffed" I think the ice cream got to you"

"What am I gonna wear? Dress? No! Skirt? No! Jeans?-"

"How's about you get some sleep and we can talk about it tomorrow"

"Yeah I think that would be good"

She couldn't help but giggle "Goodnight, and this time for real"

"Night"

I laid back down in my bed as I turned off my lamp. It's all good Nai, it's just a date. You never really been to one but what can go wrong?
