"Nonstop"

The whole team was excited and pumped as for myself. I want all my hard work to pay off from this very game. I was focused on the plays we did in practice and the other team.

Mom said that she couldn't come since she had work. Which I didn't mind, I understand that she will come if she has time and is working hard to provide food for Niko and I.

I took a deep breath as Coach Bombay comes in the locker room. He looks at each of us with a smile as a reassurance that everything is going to be okay. It made us feel less nervous.

"Alright everyone, it's finally it. Remember the plays we did in practice and don't let them stumble you down. We are ducks, we got this!"

"Coach is right, we have potential!" Charlie added "Let's prove them all wrong!"

Coach Bombay smiles proudly "Who are we?!"

"Ducks!" All of us shouted

"I can't hear you!"

"DUCKS!"

"Now let's go show these suckers who we are!"

We all cheered and ran out the locker room, our heads help up high along with our sticks as we made noise through the hallway. I felt exhilarated, my hands were shaking of excitement and my heart was beating like crazy.

We started warming up as the team we are going against enters the stadium. None of us felt nervous about anything and began practicing for a little bit, except for Luis. He stared in the distance, as if he was trying to tell himself that it's all going to work out.

I stood by him, clearing my throat "You're not nervous are you Luis?"

"What?! No!" He answered "I never get nervous"

"Y'know it's ok to feel that way. It's just the nervous jibbers"

He looked back at me "Are you?"

"To be honest, not at all" I answered "I'm mostly excited. It's all going to be okay, you should worry about not breaking a leg"

"Hey guys, what's their team name again?" Ken whispers

"Uhh- well funny thing is that- I don't know" I smiled awkwardly

"I think they're called the Red Robin's" Lester said as he shot his puck to Goldberg.

"Robin's Huh? So another bird gang, well there's always one that is the best" Fulton smiles "And it's obviously us"

"Alright ducks gather around!" Coach Bombay called out.

Everyone circled around him as he started to tell us some plays and who will be in the rink, but I couldn't even pay attention, I was so excited that I just wanted to play.

"Julie, Portman, Fulton, Charlie, Jessie and Nai, you guys will start the game. Now remember, they are mostly good at having open space so they can have long passes and fast breaks" He explained "Nai and Portman, you two need to keep an eye on that. Charlie, Jessie and Fulton will be there if anything gets tricky. You all ready?"

"I was born ready!" I said excitedly.

"Alright hands in!"

"One, two, three, Ducks!"

Dean and the rest of us headed to the rink. The Robin's soon did the same. I felt the adrenaline rush through my whole body as Charlie gets ready to grab the puck.

"Everyone ready?" The ref asked

Charlie and the other team nods their heads as the ref drops the puck and blows his whistle.

"Charlie I'm open!"

Charlie quickly pass the puck to Adam as he makes a shot, making us earn a point. We cheered for Adam and the rest of the team, however it wasn't enough. We are losing 4 to 6 and I have to say, they are stronger than I thought. We made a lot of switches to see if it can help, and it did for a while, but then they started to catch up to us. The other team decided to call for a timeout so we went over to Coach Bombay.

"Alright I'm gonna switch Ken with Adam, Luis with Charlie, Julie with Goldberg, and Guy with Connie. I still want Portman and Nai out there a little longer because they work well together. Remember what I told you guys, keep an eye on the fast breaks"

"But how coach? They are too fast for us" Russ panted as he grabbed a bottle of water

"Wait I think I got an idea" I said smiling

"What is it?" Connie asked

"I noticed that they are very aggressive when it's only one person. Why not make a 'v' shape so they can't get at the middle person so they can shoot?"

"It's been a while since we did that" Charlie comments

"How long ago was it?"

"Uh- 2 years?"

I let out a quiet gasp "Holy- okay-"

Coach Bombay does a sharp sigh "Charlie you're gonna be in the middle while the rest of us protects you. Although it's going to give us one goal, it'll give us something"

"I think you should do it Nai. You're the one that thought of it after all" Charlie said

"But you're captain-"

"C'mon Nai you should do it" Luis said as the rest agreed "It's your first game and this can be your first goal"

"Well... alright! Let's show them what we got!"

After the timeout we started going back to the rink. It can't be that crazy to do this... right?

"You got this Nai" Luis said as he pat my back as I followed Dean

As the whistle blew Dean quickly gets the puck and passes it to me. They quickly formed a 'v' shape as we started to skate to their goal. I got a bit hesitant as I saw them charge towards us. But... it all stopped as Luis and the others started blocking them from me.

I felt the crowd cheering me on as we got closer and closer. Soon enough they moved to the side as I shot the puck between the goalies feet.... shooting another point.

I heard the sound of the siren as I cheered with joy. The rest of them pat my backs and others hugged me.

"We got 2 more points to go, let's keep this up!" Luis smiles.

LUIS'S POV

Just hearing Nai and the rest of us cheering made me remember when I first moved here. Crowd was wilding as we celebrated like there was no tomorrow and we all had a passion to play.

As the Robin's got the puck we started to do our usual defense. I was one on one with their captain, luckily Nai was skating past me as she shoves him, making him drop and let her get the puck.

"Thanks Nai"

"Don't mention it, Dean your puck!" She shouts as she quickly passes it to him.

He makes another goal, finally making it into a tie. We still have time to at least get one or two points ahead of them.

There was another timeout for the Robin's so we went over to Coach Bombay.

"Alright guys, there's two minutes on the clock and they are starting to get more aggressive. Got any ideas?"

"Another 'v' shape?" Lester recommended

"We can't risk it" Charlie said

"I got an idea! Why not let Nai or Portman shoot it?" Connie asked

"I-I don't know about that one Con, isn't it a bit risky since Dean and I need to be defense and without us there they have a higher change on shooting?" Nai said nervously

"I'm with Connie on this one. Nai and Portman are the most aggressive ones, but can shoot like a pro" Jessie agrees

"What do you think Charlie?" I asked him

"I mean... it can help us so why not give it a shot?"

"Well then it's settled. Nai and Portman will be up top and Luis and Connie will drop down. Luis, Connie, they are quick kids there so try your best to not leave them alone"

As the ref blows his whistle we headed back and I switched with Portman as Connie did the same with Nai.

"Are you nervous Luis?" Connie asked

"I'm nervous for Nai if that answers your question"

"She'll be fine. She's a duck, we just need to be by her side and help her out"

NAI'S POV

Ok maybe this time I am nervous, I was always better playing near Goldberg or Julie, but this is a whole other scenario!

The ref blows his whistle as he drops the puck, making Dean quickly grab it as he passes it to Luis.

"Just breathe Nai, pretend it's like playing with your regular friends" I thought

I couldn't help but keep glancing over the clock, making me more nervous each second. I started to feel my hands get sweaty as I started shaking a little.

As Connie got the puck she quickly passes it back to Dean as he gives me a sign to go up with him.

"Go Nai! Go Portman!" Everyone cheers

It was two on one, 10 seconds remaining... I kept glancing over Dean as he starts to go against the the last player on the other team.

5 seconds... He finally passes me the puck as I quickly stopped it. I quickly shot it as one of the other players flipped me over to the ground.

It was quiet at first, but then I hear the sound of the siren going off and the clock doing the same.

"Nai you okay?" Dean asks as he helps me up

"I made another... I-I made another!" I laughed from joy as I hugged him "How did I do it I don't know but I did it! Holy crap!"

"Naiiiiiii!" Luis cheers my name as the rest comes over to me.

"Did you see that Luis?! It went woosh! And then I heard a "wheewhoooo!"

He started to laugh "Use actual words next time"

"I know I'm just so excited and happy! See I told you we were gonna win! Just steps away from the championship!"

"All right everyone gather around!" Coach Bombay called out as he circled around him "Now I know this is a pretty big deal, and it is! Nice job you guys, how's about I buy you guys some ice cream for celebration!?"

We all agreed and decided to meet him out front while we go change out of our uniforms.

"That was amazing Nai, what was it like seeing the shot so close?" Connie asked as we took off our blades "You were face to face with the goalie"

That's when I realized something, I didn't actually see the goal I made. I mean, I heard the sirens yeah, but holy crap did I not see the shot?

"I don't think I saw it" I said a bit confused

"WHAT?!" Julie and Connie gasped

"So you did it... with your eyes closed?!" Julie gasped even more

"I think so?" I smiled awkwardly

"Holy crap Nai! You're like a- a-"

"A goddess?" Julie finished her sentence

"Yeah! Thanks Julie! None of us ever shot one with our eyes closed and made it, usually our shots get more weaker when we do"

"I guess you can say it was a surprised attack?"

"Guess so. IF YOU CAN, DO IT AGAIN!" Julie smiles as Connie nods her head

"I'll try" I giggled "C'mon, Bombay and the boys are probably out there wondering what's taking us so long"
