Dear, Madalena & Victor.
Thank you for the letter and for letting me know ahead, I hope we can figure something out, and end on good terms.
Hope I found you well,
βElise.
"That should be good." She said out loud.
"You told them?" asked Draco.
"Not really, I said I would tell them when we get there. And that I would be bringing this 'partner' I was assigned to." She took a deep breath and folded the envelope.
Then, out of nowhere, she began to whistle a tune. It was sweet and calming, but it didn't last forever much to Draco's dismay. After the tune finished, a big brown owl appears outside the big window in the living room, tapping to let it in.
Elise walked over to the window and opened it to let it in, it flew around delicately not to hit anything, and soon landed on Draco's desk, while he watched from the couch.
"Wow," He breathed eyes still on the owl.
"Cool right," She smirks, and walks back over to the counter to seal the envelope.
With nothing but wax, no stamp. She wrote the address then hers and walked back over to her owl. She stroked its soft feathered back.
"Good boy, Ranger" She continued to stroke him. Draco watched in awe. "Good thing we woke up early." Elise says holding in a laugh.
"We didn't. You did and dragged me down with you," Draco sighs with a wide smile on his face.
"Same thing," she rolls her eyes and hands the letter to Ranger. "Victor," He takes it into his beak and flies off out the window.
Elise cleans up her letter-writing station, and gets ready for the day. Draco follows close behind.
Classes went by quickly and in a blur for Elise. Her mind elsewhere, imagining her parent's reactions to the terms of The Baby Assignment, and how everythjng was going to go down. Her stomach churned the whole day, threatening to make her sick.
"Who's the pale ghostly looking girl?" Bella Panko, Elise's one friend, a Hufflepuff, joked in their last class.
Elise played a smile. "I am going to be sick," she said honestly.
Draco's head whipped around to face her, with almost a look of worry, but it was impossible to tell, if it was ever there his face changed to annoyed. "Not again. You were so much more disgusting last time," He rolled his eyes, and sneered. His lip curled in disgust.
Elise took a deep breath. "Bella, didn't you say something about inviting me over for the night tomorrow? After class? To see your flat?" Elise elbows Bella and eyes her, with a pleading look on her face.
"Ow," Bella said when the elbow his her then she saw the look on Elise's face. "I mean, oh! Right, Theo my dude, my bestie Leesy over here is coming to see our flat," She announced not just for Theo.
"Hmm, kay?" Theo answered as a question, then shrugged and continued what he was doing.
Draco hesitated then answered. "Good, you can be disgusting with them." and with that he grabbed his books and left.
