Dear Elise,
Remember our talk about the conditions if you were to move away and study those silly plants you love? Well, we have found the man of our agreement, he awaits to see you this Christmas, you will be coming to stay at home. He is very handsome and just the man we want you to marry. You just need to get to know each other. We know that you don't want to get married this soon in life, but that's what we did and we are happily married so it is your turn. Though, we are ready to negotiate just a little, at Christmas.
We miss you, and can't wait to see you this Christmas.
-Best wishes,
Madelena & Victor Pierce.
Elise read it over and over, making sure repeatedly that she was reading it right every time, and she indeed was.
"This is a mess," She huffed, as her head dropped into her arms, wracking through her hair in the process.
"What is?" Draco asks curiously, coming down the stairs.
Elise didn't move, so Draco leaned over her shoulder and read the letter. "What does that mean? Man of our agreement, you're stuck with me till we die, basically." Draco sounded like he wanted to laugh.
"Yeah well, Victor doesn't know that." She signed.
"Victor? Why do you call your father by his name?"
"He doesn't deserve the title 'father' very much," She shrugs.
"I'll be the judge of that, I'll have to meet them someday." He smirks.
"Oh no, does that mean the other way around too." She went silent, picturing what it would be like, her screaming in pain was common in all of them.
"No, they need to stay away from us for a long time." His eyes flashed with anger.
"Iβwe should head to the great hall, Professor McGonagall will be there soon," Elise states and begins to walk off.
Draco shakes his head, and runs after her, catching up shortly. They walk together to the great hall, sitting down next to each other at the Slytherin table.
"Quiet down, thank you," McGonagall hushed everyone. "Sit down, sit down, thank you. Now, as you all know it is Christmas in four weeks. At the end of the fourth week, you will go home or stay here. This year for the seventh years we have decided to let you choose who's house you will go to, or go to both, but you must spend the Christmas together as your future married selves." She eyed Elise and Draco, Elise groaned, Draco silently hoped his parents didn't have to be in this.
"Decide wether your staying or going home. That is all, dismissed." Elise combed her hands through her short hair, trying to decide who's parents were worse.
"This is a mess," Elise sighed.
"So your parents then?" Draco asked.
"Well, we have to do both, if we have to visit my parents, and my suitor, she thought to herself. "we are visiting yours, we're going to have to eventually, why don't we just do it in one shot." Elise nodded mostly to herself.
"You're the boss, I guess." Draco stood and turned to hide his smile.
Elise studied him with a puzzled look. "Yeah, I am." a small smile played on her lips as she followed Draco to their flat number 117.
