Anger is an emotion that everyone experiences and can be overwhelming, as well as positive (standing up for someone, social change, etc). People who may not know how to cope with their anger issues may feel a strong desire to act directly on these feelings, putting themselves and others at risk.

Oftentimes, anger often has underlying emotions, such as hurt, frustration, or sadness. The person may not be aware there's an underlying reason present or maybe ignoring their emotions.

Thankfully, there are ways you can cope with anger. Managing your anger doesn't mean feeling any anger.  Instead, it involves learning healthy ways to cope with it.

- Identify triggers: take stock of things that could've potentially triggered your anger.
- Evaluate your anger: ask yourself if your anger is your friend or enemy.

- Recognize the warning signs: i.e. faster heartbeat, clenched fists, "seeing red," racing thoughts
- Step away: trying to win an argument or sticking in an unhealthy situation can only fuel your anger, so consider taking a step away.
- Talk to a friend: talk through your emotions with a friend. this doesn't mean venting. venting is an unhealthy way to cope.

(There are other ways, but I just didn't have enough time to list them.)
