Frustrated, Chase walked into the headquarters, looking through his text messages with Madison. When he looked up, he saw that the room was trashed. "What the-"
"AH, intruder!" a familiar voice shrieked.
Not soon after, the actual intruder took a shot at Chase, but thanks to his quick reflexes, he could dodge it. "Perry?" he then questioned, once he realised who had broken into their headquarters.
Perry used to be the principle at Mission Creek High, the high school that Chase and his siblings when to. She had a way of getting what she wanted by blackmailing or just straight-up violence and having no remorse. "Chaz?" she questioned back.
"My name is Chase," Chase corrected her, already annoyed by her presence.
"I know, I just like the name Chaz more," she retorted.
Chase had to hold himself back from making another remark, as he spoke, "What are you doing here?"
"I decided to take a little vacay from the academy," she admitted, while walking over to the bionic teen.
"So you decided to leave a tropical island to vacation in the windowless underbelly of a skyscraper?" Chase said, mocking her a little bit in the process.
"Yup," she replied unbothered. "I had to get my skin back to its original state; pale and clammy. Plus, I'm from here."
"You were born in Centium City?" Chase asked, genuinely intrigued.
"No, I was born beneath it," she answered, swinging the gun around like it's no big deal.
Chase dove away from the gun. "How about we put the gun down?"
"Sorry, when you're born in a city you learn to watch your back," she apologized, which was rare in her case. "Also, you learn that not everything that looks like meat is meat."
"Ookay, time to go," Chase said quickly and began to guide her back to the hyper lift.
Right at that moment, the elevator shone a bright blue light, meaning that someone went down with the hyper lift, and a few seconds later Madison walked out of it.
"Another intruder!" Perry howled and shot at Madison.
Madison ducked as quickly as she could and she luckily didn't get hit. "What the-"
"Stop shooting people!" Chase scowled to Perry. He shoved her into the lift and pushed a few buttons, only to realise that the hyper lift no longer worked. "Great, your blast broke down the hyper lift."
"Well," Perry began defending herself and pointed towards Madison. "She's the one that ducked away."
A mission alert went off, causing Perry to loose control over her "steel nerves". She shot the cyber desk from which the alert was coming with a howl.
"STOP SHOOTING THINGS!" Chase growled and shoved her gun away. He ran over to the cyber desk and started to work his magic. "That was a mission alert. Your shot activated lock down and broke the mission center's entire central nerve-system. We're stuck."
"Great, I'm stuck in the basement with a woman who keeps shooting everything and everyone and you," Madison made a remark.
"Why were you coming down here anyway? I just saw you with everyone else out on the balcony," Chase questioned her, causing Madison to shut up.
Perry shot another blast against the light bulbs, causing it to be pitch-black in the room, except for the lights coming from the cyber desks.
"What did you do that for?" Chase shrieked.
"If we're going to be stuck here, I don't want to look at your face," she confessed, sounding disgusted in the process.
"I would much rather look at his face than yours," Madison snapped at her. She took the gun from Perry and used her air manipulation to blow her back on her air-mattress.
"Really?" Chase said surprised.
"It's hardly a competition," Madison retorted. "You're against a fifty year-old who did not exactly age like fine wine."
"Still," Chase said. "This is the first time we've actually talked in weeks."
"Things have been a bit awkward ever since you got Skylar her powers back," she admitted.
"Yeah," he agreed with a chuckle. "I felt really bad for you. All I wanted to do was-"
Perry then loudly yawned. "Could you maybe do all this sappiness somewhere else?"
"You trapped us here," Chase retorted annoyed. "I wish Liz was here. She could just put you to sleep."
"Let me," Madison told him. She used her electricity manipulation to her lowest ability and shocked Perry asleep.
Chase's eyes widened at the sight as he spoke, "Is she going to be okay?"
"Sure, I just shouldn't do it often," she shrugged and turned back to Chase. "You were saying?"
"I uh-," he began. He walked around the cyber desk and stood right in front of her. "I wanted to do this," he whispered, as he leaned in closer.
Once his lips touched hers, the gap - the literal and emotional one - between them finally closed.
At first, their lips slowly and softly moved in sync. It was as if they had kissed a hundred times before, yet, it was not at all what it felt like.
Madison became weak in her knees, as she took his face in-between her two hands. She deepened and quickened their kissing. The butterflies took over in her stomach, leaving a tingling feeling behind.
Meanwhile, Chase's heart was racing. He had dreamed about kissing her for weeks and it went exactly the same; his hands were on her waist, while hers were on his cheeks. He was smiling against her lips - simply because he was so happy - just as his heartbeat began to accelerate even more.
Somehow, Madison couldn't believe that after not talking for weeks and both their outbursts, they would be kissing like this, but she guessed that it was all building up to this very moment. The moment she was finally able to kiss Chase Davenport.
He pulled her closer by her waist, making her slightly blush at the pure affection he was showing.
Let's just say that this continued for quite some time...

"The hyper lift is fixed again. I don't know what happened down there, but it was somehow broken and put on lock down," Douglas said.
"I'm going to take a look-" Bree announced, as Oliver undermined her.
"Me first! My sister is down there."
"So? Our brother is down there," Elizabeth argued with him.
He looked over at her and gave her an awkward and sort of flirting smile. "Alright, you can come first too."
Elizabeth's roseate cheeks were clearly visible to everyone as she stepped into the lift with Oliver and Bree.
The three of them went down and were in the headquarters in an instant. Once the lights were gone, they witnessed a startled pair swiftly fixing themselves.
"What were you guys doing?" Oliver asked, too oblivious and naive to see the truth. Bree and Elizabeth knew exactly what was going on before they arrived.
"Uh- Uhm... Perry apparently found the headquarters and she shot the hyper lift and cyber desks-" Chase told the trio as he stumbled on his first words for a few seconds.
"Don't forget that she also tried to shoot us," Madison added to the explanation.
"Only twice," Perry retorted. "Besides, you were the one that actually hit me."
"What is she doing here?!" Bree blurted out once the realisation came upon her that Perry was staying in the headquarters. When she saw Perry's face, she corrected herself. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come over like that. What is it doing here?"
"She's taking a vacation from the bionic academy," Chase sighed.
"But we left her there for a reason," Elizabeth deadpanned.
"Oh, there we have our Lady Blah-Blah," Perry said with a fake yawn. "Can't you bore another room?"
"Don't talk to her like that," Chase and Oliver warned her in unison, making Elizabeth smile shyly in response.
Madison turned to face Bree. "Have you already gone on the mission?"
Bree nodded very softly. She knew that both Chase and Madison were devastated over missing their first ever mission as a team, but there was no good in denying it. However, she had a feeling that they also didn't mind missing it.
"We missed it?" Chase asked quietly. "I can't believe we missed it. How did it go?"
"It went really great. Evelyn was a great mission leader-" Oliver began to explain, but got cut of by Chase's shriek.
"Evelyn's mission leader?!"
"Yeah," Oliver continued. "She stepped up to the plate and took control. She was great."
"It was alright. Everyone could've gotten up with that plan, Oliver," Elizabeth said with a roll of her eyes. She walked back into the hyper lift. To everyone's surprise, Madison was quick to follow after her into the lift. Right before the two girls could went up, Bree swiftly joined them.
"So, what did actually happen?" Bree questioned, a smirk visible on her face. "You seemed a little flustered."
"You and I both know what happened," Madison retorted. She had trouble covering up her smile. The three girls walked into their room and spread around.
"Sooooooo, how was it?" Bree asked.
"That's gross, Bree. She made out with our brother, not just a cute guy," Elizabeth argued. Her face went a little sour, as she let out a dramatic, disgusted sound.
Madison let out a laugh, before she said, "It was knee-weakening. It was such a long time coming and it was... perfect in a sense."
"Even though I don't want to admit it, Chase and you make a really cute couple-" Elizabeth began.
"We're not a couple," Madison quickly told the sisters. "Not yet at least."
"Be happy he didn't ask you in that stink hole," Bree huffed. "He'll ask you soon. It's obvious."
"And if he doesn't, I will," Madison declared. "I'm tired of waiting and why should I wait anyway?"
"There's nothing wrong with you asking him," Elizabeth agreed as she lounged on her bed.
"I know. I just kinda hoped that he would've told me how he felt by now," Madison admitted with a sigh. "He kissed me and we stopped kissing once you guys came in. Not that you hear me complain."
"Gross," Bree scoffed. She was happy that her best friend found someone she knew would treat her like royalty. However, hearing that they kissed made her want to puke. "But I guess, whatever makes you happy, right?"

Much to Chase's delight, he was mission leader again on the next mission of the Elite Force. At least, he could lead half the team. The other half of the team had another mission to go on.
Chase, Madison, Oliver and Kaz were sent to evacuate a collapsing underpass.
What none of the teens knew, was that Chase had trapped Evelyn in the headquarters with Perry. Chase got so fed up with every comment about what a great mission leader Evelyn was, that he wanted to prove that he was much better at it.
Things were going as he had hoped, until Evelyn, and thus Perry, suddenly emerged from a door in the underpass.
Everyone had evacuated at this point, except for the heroes and Perry. As they were about to leave, Chase could hear the ceiling about to collapse. He immediately turned around and protected the two girls, leaving Perry vulnerable for any rocks flying her way.
Once all the smoke had cleared, Evelyn made her way over to the wall of rocks. "Don't worry, I'll blast us out of here."
"No!" Chase immediately exclaimed. "It is unstable. The only thing keeping this tunnel from collapsing is that pile. Blasting us out is a terrible idea, mIsSiOn LeAdEr-" Chase elaborated, while also mocking Evelyn.
"Well, what do you suggest?" Evelyn answered annoyed.
"I'll put my force field around us. That way, we'll be protected for when the tunnel does collapse," Chase said.
"Which will leave us under even a bigger pile and not to mention, crush the rest of the team," Evelyn argued.
Perry had had enough of the bickering by now. "Stop arguing and focus on what's truly important; Saving me."
"Don't worry. We'll get out of here," Evelyn reassured her.
"Pff, great. Give her hope," Chase scoffed in response.
"It's not hope. I trust our team and I'll know they rescue us," Evelyn bickered back.
"How?!" Chase exclaimed.
"They're smart. They'll figure it out," Evelyn said, but no one really, truly believed that.
No one had paid attention to Madison once the two "mission leaders" began bickering about what to do next. Both wanted to show that they had what it took to be mission leader.
Madison didn't really care about the position, for she felt as if she was too socially awkward. Not to mention the panic and stress that she would feel if she had to step up to the plate every single mission.
However, she knew her best friends on the other side better than anyone else. She also knew how skilled they were at creating a bigger pile, while never breaking its original structure. She had observed the wall, while Chase and Evelyn were acting like an old married couple, before she shouting, "Oi! Oliver! Kaz! Do your weird piling up game!"
Now, she could only hope that they had heard her.
πππ
Turned out that they did hear her. Kaz was able to make his way through the wall of rocks and save them.
Perry was so excited that she screamed, "GLENN!"
To which Kaz replied, "It's Paul, actually. Oliver is Glenn."
Everyone was out of the underpass and on their way back to the headquarters. All but two.
Madison was staring at the perfectly round full moon. She thought about how crazy everything had been for her ever since her mother went haywire. Something that she knew was coming for years, yet she was not quite prepared for it after all.
"Hey," the soft voice of Chase caught her attention. "What a day, huh?"
"Yeah," she mumbled back, unsure of how to act. This always happened to her. She was all confident in her head - she had been dreaming of having this conversation with him for quite a while now - and yet, as it was happening, she had no clue of what to do. She was nervously fumbling with her fingers as to not appear any more nervous than she was.
"About what happened this morning," Chase began and swallowed. Madison could feel her heart beating in her chest. "I- uh..."
Madison got more anxious every second. What she didn't know was that Chase felt exactly the same way.
"I really like you, Maddie," he finally blurted out, catching her gaze. Their eyes locked and for a brief moment, the world seemed to pause.
"I-," Madison stumbled, before she cleared her throat. "I like you too. I really, really like you."
Chase first took one of her hands on his and then took the other too. "Maybe we should- Maybe you could be- Maybe-"
"Yes."
"Date."
"No," Madison then corrected herself once Chase had finished his sentence. "I don't want to date, Chase. We've known other for months and I want more. I want you... to be my boyfriend."
"Wait, you actually want that?" Chase questioned. He was honestly surprised that a girl like her would actually want to be his girlfriend. He just couldn't believe it.
"Well yes, duh," Madison replied confused by his surprise. "I've started to like you ever since we met, you silly."
"So, that's that then? We're boyfriend and girlfriend?"
"Only if you ask me properly," the blond-haired girl teased him with a cheeky smile.
Chase beamed of happiness as he squeezed gently in her soft hands. "Maddie, will you be my girlfriend?"
Madison could feel her heart skip a beat once the question finally dropped.
"Yes."
I felt like posting this chapter. Probably my favourite chapter so far.
