The days of stolen kisses and late-night cuddles were Jennieβs favorite part of life with Taehyung. But slowly, something had started to shift. Something she couldn't explain, but she could feel it β like a storm silently brewing on a sunny day.
Jennie sat on the couch, scrolling through her phone, her thumb hovering over a headline that made her stomach twist.
"Taehyung and Bae Irene spotted laughing together during a private break on set!"
The photo wasnβt anything inappropriate β just Taehyung smiling as Irene said something in his ear. But to Jennie, it felt like a dagger straight through her chest.
**Avoidance**
Taehyung had been coming home later than usual. Every time Jennie asked about his day, his answers were short, distracted.
βLong shoot. Tired,β he mumbled that evening, dropping his bag on the floor and heading straight to the bedroom.
Jennie blinked at the door he shut behind him. No kiss? No 'how was your day?'
She tried to shake it off, telling herself he was just exhausted. But when it happened again, and again, the weight of it began to press down on her chest.
**The Missed Dinner**
Jennie stared at the fancy dinner she had set up in the living room. Candles flickered, casting soft shadows. A home-cooked meal β her way of reminding Taehyung of their love, their little world.
He had promised to be home early.
But as the hours ticked by, the food went cold, and Jennie sat alone at the table, the ticking of the clock growing louder in her ears.
She picked up her phone and hesitated before calling him.
It rang once.
Twice.
Three times.
No answer.
Her eyes welled with tears, but she wiped them away quickly. No, I wonβt cry over this. Maybe heβs busy.
She turned off the candles and carried the plates back to the kitchen, her heart heavier than ever.
**The Confrontation**
When Taehyung finally walked in past midnight, Jennie was curled up on the couch, trying to stay awake.
He looked surprised to see her still up.
βJagiyaβ¦ what are you doing awake?β he asked, taking off his jacket.
Jennie stood up slowly, biting her lip. "You promised you'd come early today. I cooked dinner. I waited."
Taehyung rubbed the back of his neck, not meeting her eyes. "I knowβ¦ Iβm sorry. Filming ran late."
Jennie walked closer to him, her eyes searching his face. "You couldβve called me, Tae. Just a message."
His shoulders tensed. "I didnβt think it was a big deal."
Jennie felt her heart drop at his words.
"Not a big deal?" she repeated, her voice softer now, but shaky.
Taehyung sighed. "Jennie, Iβm tired. I donβt have energy for this right now."
Her lips trembled. "I was excited to see you. To eat together⦠like we used to."
"Can we not do this now?" he said, his tone sharp, running a hand through his hair. "I need to shower."
Without waiting for her response, he turned and walked away, leaving Jennie standing alone in the living room, her hands clenched into fists to hold back the tears.
**Loneliness in Love**
Later that night, Jennie lay on her side of the bed, wide awake, staring at the wall. Taehyung was next to her, facing the other way, his breathing even β already asleep.
She reached out slowly, her fingers hovering just above his back, craving the warmth of his embrace. But her hand fell back to her side as a tear slipped down her cheek.
They were married.
They loved each other.
But why did she feel so alone?
**Taehyungβs Side**
What Jennie didnβt know was that Taehyung was awake too, staring at the dark wall, guilt churning inside him.
He knew he was being distant.
He knew he was hurting her.
But the pressure of the drama, the constant need to act like he was single, and the secret of their marriage weighing heavily on him β it was becoming too much.
Still, as he heard her soft sniffles in the dark, his heart twisted painfully.
βIβm sorry, Jagiya,β he whispered so quietly she couldnβt hear.
But he didnβt reach out to hold her.
And that, perhaps, was the worst part.
**A Hint of Jealousy**
The next morning, Jennie sat scrolling through articles over coffee when another headline caught her eye:
"Taehyung and Irene's undeniable chemistry! Fans are obsessed!"
Jennieβs heart sank again, but she forced a smile when Taehyung walked into the kitchen.
"Morning," she said softly.
Taehyung kissed her head, but it felt absent, rushed. "Morning."
Her eyes followed him as he poured himself coffee, and for a moment, she wondered if she was being paranoid.
But the ache in her chest remained.
To be continued...
