SOUL CONNECTION
Days turned into weeks, perhaps even months, yet the bond between Subhadra and Arjun remained as unshaken as ever. The love they shared transcended the passage of time and the distance between them. Their souls were bound in a way that no separation could break, not even the loneliness that often settled in their hearts.
Even though they were surrounded by people who loved them, the absence of each other left an undeniable void. But that void, instead of weakening their connection, only deepened it. The loneliness that might have torn them apart in another life only strengthened their mental and emotional bond, creating a closeness that physical distance could never sever.
Every thought, every dream, every breath they took seemed to pull them closer together, as if the universe itself conspired to keep their hearts entwined. Though apart, they were never truly alone. Their love lived in the unspoken words, the silent prayers, and the unwavering faith they held for each other.
Kaṅka closed his eyes and his lips parted, as if speaking to someone only he could see. "Princess~ how have you been? Hmm~ well, here’s the daily update from my side. Mata shree is doing well, and the rest of my silly brothers are their usual selves~ Oh, and I heard Madhav is visiting us soon? I wonder what that’s about. I’m curious why he wants to meet me."
"Have you been taking care of your health lately? Your anklet never fails to remind me how much I’ve been missing you~" he said, his voice soft as he shared his worries and spoke about his day, as though she wasn’t right there with him but he knew she heard him.
Meanwhile, Subhadra had been smiling the whole day, and for good reasons. One was Balarama praising her cooking, and the other was him gifting her new jewelry. Another reason was Krishn taking her out, where they playfully showed off their archery skills to each other.
Subhadra wasn’t just any princess; she was the most pampered sister in the whole world. But that didn’t mean she didn’t know her worth. Her self-respect was her top priority, as it should be for every woman. Subhadra wasn’t just about cooking or wearing anklets. She was also a skilled architect, trained by her two brothers, and she excelled in everything she did.
Now that Subhadra was in her room, she could finally have a moment to connect with Arjun, though it wasn't exactly a direct conversation—it was something deeper, something beyond mere words.
"Arjun, oh no, I mean Kaṅka... I'm glad to hear you're doing well, and yes, yes, I'm fine too! But now's not the time for small talk, there's something more urgent. Listen to me, my Bhrata is planning to visit you, and from what I've gathered, it's something very important. I think he mentioned meeting you at Kampilya. Arjun—ah, I mean Kaṅka—this sounds serious. I have a bad feeling about it... Please, make sure you're mentally prepared for whatever's coming, because I don't think this is just a casual visit."
She sighs after finishing her sentence, her eyes wandering over to the arrow resting on the table, surrounded by delicately arranged flowers. A soft smile spreads across her face as she gazes at it, her heart filled with hope that Arjun will return soon. It was her symbol of connection, the silent promise they had shared, and it gave her strength to wait patiently for the day they'd meet again.
Krishn, already in the city of Kampilya, smiled to himself as he wandered through the vibrant streets, his eyes searching for the most beautiful princess of Kampilya, the daughter of King Drupad. As he took in the surroundings, he suddenly heard the soft sound of laughter echoing in the distance. Intrigued, he turned toward the sound, a knowing smile forming on his lips. The laughter was light and filled with joy, and Krishn knew instantly that it was Draupadi.
"Sakhi!" Krishn called out with warmth in his voice.
Draupadi, recognizing his familiar tone, immediately paused and turned from her path. Her face lit up with joy as she spotted him. Without a second thought, she ran toward him, her heart filled with happiness.
"Govind!" she exclaimed as she reached him, her voice soft yet filled with affection.
Krishn chuckled softly, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "Oh, you know me, Sakhi. I have a way of appearing at just the right moments. Call it my divine timing," he teased.
Draupadi relaxed, a smile spreading across her face. "I'm fine, Govind," she replied warmly, but then her expression shifted as she gestured to her surroundings. "But seriously, how do you always manage to find me in such situations?" she asked, hinting at the chaos of her marriage preparations.
Krishn raised an eyebrow, still smiling. "It's a talent, Draupadi. Besides, how could I miss out on such an important event?"
"I’m anxious," she murmured softly, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her saree. "What if I end up marrying the wrong person?" The worry was evident in her eyes, the fear of a future without him weighing heavily on her heart.
"Wrong person? No way!" he chuckled, trying to ease her mind. "Choose wisely, after all, the choice is yours, Sakhi." His warm tone and gentle words brought a small smile to her face, though the anxiety still lingered in her heart.
