We'd locked in the massive win with 2 minutes to go, and once again Ezra got the ball over line, now having us sit 34 to 8. Though as Adam was settting up his Tee to convert it, I felt a rush if nausea hit me. "Hey Carly where was the bathroom again?" I whispered quickly.
She turned to me to respond, but knew what was happening as she saw my face. "Oh sweetheart, right through here." She took me back down the tunnel to the locker rooms, then gestured me to a door in the corner. I don't know how I managed to make it in time, but it would've been close.
I didn't realise how long I'd been in there, until there was a knock at the cubical door. "Khobi, are you alright? Can I come in?" With no surprise, it was Blake.
I reached out behind me to unlock the door. In a hurry, he shut the door behind him, placed a bottle of water on the floor and knelt down beside me, grasping my hair so it was out of my face. "you're okay, let it all out."
I sat back on my knees, catching a breath. "Last I knew you copped this of mornings, not night." He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. I smiled slightly, shaking my head as I looked up at him. "Must say it's unpredictable, but yes this is the first it's happened of a night."
Once I thought I was clear, he helped me up then handed me a bottle of water after unscrewing the cap, "take this, and let's get out of here, you probably don't want to miss this." He took my hand and guided me back out, where the team stood in a circle, building up some energy, which soon turned into the team chant with beer dancing through the air.
"Blake!" Jordan yelled, chucking him a can of Toohey's. "Brace yourself." He giggled. He held me against him to cover my face, then without hesitation, held the can against his thigh and popped it open, throwing the drink throughout the air with everyone else.

We loaded back onto the bus, where I flopped into the seat. "Little bit tired?" Blake questioned sarcastically. I raised my eyebrows and nodded.
"You going to school tomorrow? He asked. I shook my head in response, "nah, I emailed my teachers about it last night and I'm gonna start doing it from home. I only really have one or two classes a day anyway, I just don't want that chaos every day. The year 7's are getting more annoying as the years go on."
"If you want I'll drive you home when we get back. I've had nothing to drink and Jords, Pat and I caught a taxi in, I just want you getting home safely." I smiled then nodded, "that would be great, but only if you want too, I don't mind."
When we got back to Redhill, we all went back inside to grab some stuff, which is also where they took the time to farewell me. These guys were all so sweet.
Then Kevin walked back into the room, with a gift bag, holding it out for me. "From the team Khobi, thank you so much for your efforts this week, we've absolutely loved having you around, it's brought us all so much joy." He handed it to me then hugged me, releasing as the boys began an ovation.
They instantly pushed me to open it, and when I did, I pulled out a completely signed home jersey, which had 'Khobi Devine, Debut Round 18 VS Newcastle Knights, The Gabba" on the front, then on the back, 'DEVINE' in large letters was across the top, and with a number 14 below it, the number Blake played in tonight. They knew how close we were, they clearly payed attention.
I felt myself begin to tear up as I folded it, placing it back in the bag. Turning around, I pulled Blake into a hug myself, where he held me tight. I knew this guy wasn't going to continue to be 'just a friend', it was more than that.
Soon we made our way down the field and into the carpark, where I handed Blake the keys. "I swear I have green plates in the side of the drivers door, my brother steals my car all the time cause he can be bothered to buy himself a car that actually starts consistently, and his job pays him plenty for that."
And there was. I got in the passenger seat whilst Jordan and Pat were in the back. "I don't think you've told us how far along you are yet KhoKho." Jordan said from the back seat. "I haven't? Oh. Well I was 12 weeks on Wednesday."
"Are you finding out the gender or leaving it a surprise?" Blake asked. "Definitely finding out, I'd like to not stress over two names and just stick to one thanks."
Unfortunately, we got back to the Gold Coast, I didn't enjoy anything more than hanging out with these guys. I guided Blake through to my house, which had half a million cars parked outside. "I'd say Oscar is having another barbecue, you guys can come join if you'd like, then we'll call the Uber later."
"Yeah sure, celebrate the new addition to the our group, you'll have to meet Keenan later." Pat responded. We parked on the street then went inside. It was pretty much empty, as they're were all out on the back patio, except my dad, who had just come down the stairs.
"Hey kiddo, how was it?" He asked, walking around the corner. "It was amazing. Dad, this is Blake, Pat, and Jordan." He went through, shaking each of their hands, "great game tonight boys, lovely to meet you's. I suppose you were the three taking care of my daughter this week?"
"Yessir, lovely girl, amazing to have around." Blake said. That was one relief, they got along with my dad, especially Blake which probably meant the most to me. Now it was just Oscar he had to get by, my biggest shield since the incident a couple months ago.
I took them to the back door, but before going out I turned to them, "now he's going to come off as rude, but he's just trying to protect me, but once he finds out what you guys did for me earlier tonight he won't have an issue with you."
We walked out, where some chatter died down and they looked over. "Evening." I smiled, trying to break awkward silence. Oscar stood up, and walked over. "Khobi go take a seat, just got to have a little chat with your friends here."
I hesitated, then gave in, "Ossy, they're good guys, be nice." I bit my lip and patted Blake's arm as I walked off.
