SEB STOPPED SMILING WHEN HE SAW HOPPER AT THE OPEN DOORWAY OF THE CABIN, SEEMING TO BE WAITING FOR THE TWO. Not wanting another screaming row, Seb grabbed El's hand, the girl startled as her brother shoved past Hopper, the man following quickly. "Friends don't lie. That's your bullshit saying?" Hopper spat, Seb turning to him. "Stop-" "I need to have a chat with you." Hoper pointed in Seb's face, the boy confused. "Don't walk away from me!" Hopper moved past Seb when El walked to her room, the girl taking her jacket off with a huff. "Where'd you guys go on your little field trip, huh?" Hopper asked as Seb moved under his arm to his sister, putting his jacket and shoes in her wardrobe. "Where?" Hopper demanded when none of the twins answered. "Did you go see Mike?" He asked, El sighing. "He didn't see me." She spoke simply, Seb nodding as he sat on the end of El's bed.
"Yeah, well that Mother and her daughter did and they called the cops." Hopper spoke, Seb's eyebrows knotting. "Why did they do that-" " Shut it, kid!" Hopper yelled, Seb flinching a bit and gulping as Hoper turned back to El. "Did anyone else see you? Either of you?" Hopper spoke sternly, Seb staying quiet and deciding not to tell Hopper about Will and the girl as El shook her head. "Nobody saw me." She suddenly spat, Seb letting out a hum of agreement as Hopper sighed. "You put us in danger. Both of you. Especially you." Hopper and El looked to Seb, the boy very confused. "You promised..." El spoke up, turning back to Hopper. "We go! And we never leave!" She yelled at the man, Seb staying quiet. "Nothing ever happens!" She continued, stomping slightly as Hopper didn't stand down.
"Yeah! Nothing happens and you two stay safe!" He shot back, the twins flinching before Hopper held his face in his hands. "You lie!" El spat, Hopper looking back up at her. "I don't lie! I protect and I feed and I teach! All I ask of you two is to follow three simple rules. Three rules. And you know what?" Hopper turned to Seb, "You can't even do that!" He yelled, looking back to El as she stayed quiet. They both watched as the man stormed out, Seb looking down. "You're both grounded. You know what that means?" Hopper shouted, Seb rolling his eyes. "I know what it means!" He yelled back, Hoper appearing at the door with a deadly glare. "Don't even talk back to me when you've put us in more danger than her." He spat, Seb standing up as El teared up. "What did I do?!" Seb yelled, Hopper's eyebrows raising as he walked in front of the boy. "Let me give you a story,"
"Will Byers and his Mom come in for one of his checkups. What does he say? He says that he saw a boy with brown hair before him in one of his episodes. What happens next? Oh, Will can't stop thinking about the boy he saw and tells the Lab workers all about him!" Hoper yelled, Seb staying quiet in defeat. "Yeah, that's what you did." Hopper spoke, holding up a box of Eggos and a box of pancakes. "That means no Eggos or pancakes, and no TV for a week." Hopper spoke, chucking the boxes on the ground before walking to the TV cord. He tries to pick it up before El holds it down with her powers, Hopper looking back to the two. "All right, knock it off. Let go." Hopper spoke calmly, Seb walking next to El as he glared at Hopper. "Okay, two weeks." Hopper spoke, trying to pick up the TV again. When it didn't work, he looked back up at Seb, expecting him to do something.
Seb normally did something about El's bad moods. Whether it was words off affirmation or just a head pat, he always made El happy again. Not this time. Hopper flinched slightly when ten red tendrils connected to the TV, pushing it down more. "Three weeks!" Hopper spoke, outraged at this point. "Let go!" Hopper yelled, the twins shaking their heads in sync. "A month!" Hopper declared, El looking to him. "No!" She spat, Hopper out of breath. "Well congratulations. You two have just graduated from no TV for a month to no TV at all!" The man yelled, pulling the plug out of the socket as their powers stopped, rushing to the now black screen. "No!" El spoke, scanning the TV quickly and trying to fix it as Seb thought back to whether he studied this or not. "You two have to understand that there are consequences to your actions." Hopper spoke from behind them, El turning around quickly.
"You are like Papa!" She yelled, Hopper seeing Seb not about to disagree. He then leaned on the doorway, pinching the bridge of his nose tiredly. "Really? I'm like that psychotic son of a bitch?" He spoke, Seb glaring at him. "You guys wanna go back?" Seb's glare softened immediately. How could Hopper ask that? "One phone call, I can make it happen." The man spoke, Seb wrapping his arms around El as she cried, the two flinching away from Hopper. "I hate you." El spat, Seb nodding as Hopper sighed. "Yeah, well, I'm not so crazy about you two either. You know why? You're both brats." Hopper spoke, Seb glaring at him. "How about that's your word for the day?" Hopper continued whilst getting a dictionary off the bookshelf, Seb standing in front of his sister slightly. "B-R-A-T. You can search it up-" Hopper spoke as he chucked the book at the two, stopping when red essence halted the book's journey.
Hopper looked to see Seb's eyes bright red, the man giving Seb a warning glare. He ignored the man and flicked his head back. The dictionary shot back towards Hopper's head, the man flinching and moving out of the way. "What was that for?!" Hopper yelled, El staying behind Seb. "You don't speak to me or my sister like that." Seb seethed, Hopper's head tilting. He was fucked. If someone touched El, Seb would slap them. What happens if someone made her cry... a lot? "Oi-" Hopper yelled before Seb pointed to the bookshelf, quickly pointing towards Hopper as the structure followed, launching over the couch to hit the man. Holding his arm, Hopper started to chuckle to mask his anxiousness. "Seb, buddy." Hopper started, El backing away from her brother. In all honesty, she was afraid. Seb had never been this angry around her before. The table that they eat breakfast around had smashed, the bookshelf falling onto it.
Seb rounded the couch just as Hopper did the opposite way, the red in Seb's eyes only getting brighter. "Seb-" Hopper was interrupted once a plate made it's way past his head, Seb cursing the man for having fast reflexes. "Seb, stop." El's small voice spoke, her leaning back against the wall of the cabin. She was petrified of this side of her brother, causing the girl to cry more. The lights flickered, Hopper staring up at them. "Calm down, okay?" Hopper spoke somewhat softly, Seb's head tilting. Blood started to pour down his other nostril, his hands glowing bright too. The books raised from the fallen book shelf, El holding her head in her hands as she hated the sound of all the smashing and yelling. "Seb, no-" Hopper was cut off when the books launched themselves at him one by one, Seb not hesitating. "Stop, stop, stop..." El trailed off, crying even harder as more plates and bowls smashed.
"Stop!" El screamed, the two males in the cabin crouching down once all of the windows smashed, glass raining down on the three.
As the glass stopped falling, Hopper stood up first, Seb following as he stumbled backwards lightly. El kept her glossy eyes on him, Seb making his way over to her. "You're both cleaning this up!" Hopper raised his voice lightly to seem more intimidating, El crying into Seb's shoulder as he hugged her. "Go to bed..." He rasped, El nodding and slowly walking away before shutting her door softly. Hopper watched as Seb shoved past him, stumbling to his own room and slamming the door.
Everything was dead quiet after that night.

SEB SHOT AWAKE, BLOOD STILL COATING HIS NOSE AS HOPPER BANGED ON HIS DOOR HARSHLY. "You and your sister are cleaning all this up! I want it spotless by the time I get back!" Hopper yelled, Seb scowling at the door. "And will you be late or not?" He yelled back, Hopper about to barge in before he stopped himself, taking a deep breath and walking out, slamming the door after him. He was slightly worried for Seb as the boy didn't seem to be in a great state after his outburst last night. "Seb..." El spoke gently, Sen opening the door with a flick of his hand. "We have to clean." She spoke simply, Seb nodding and getting up with a sigh. El grabbed the broom to sweep up the glass whilst Seb lifted up the book shelf and placed the fallen books and board games back. The glass moving was the only sound before it suddenly stopped, Seb looking to El. "Are you done-"
"Seb." El interrupted, looking down at something. Seb put the last board game in the book shelf before moving to his sister where they both looked down at a small hatch in the floor. "What is that?" Seb asked, El moving the couch fully and opening the hatch as her brother made an red energy ball to hover and shine in the hatch, showing the twins what was inside. "It's boxes." El spoke, Seb nodding as he jumped down into it. "What's in there?" She asked, Seb seeing the boxes labelled. It was mostly states before the name fell under Seb's gaze. Hawkins Lab. "Seb-" El was cut off when the box flung past her, Seb climbing up after. "Look." He spoke, El sitting next to the box and reading the label. The twins sat on either side of the box, Seb letting El open the box. El pulled out a file as Seb pulled another one out. El's was red and Seb's just seemed to be blueprints of the lab from before it was built.
Thinking it was boring and useless, Seb put it on the floor with the rest of the read files as El spoke up. "Ives." She read, Seb looking up. "Hm?" He asked, El showing him the red file that had 'Ives, Terry' written on the front. Seb perked up in curiosity and walked to sit next to El, he two reading the file together. "Indiana woman sues D.O.E. claims her two children were stolen?" Seb read out, El and him looking to each other before reading the article briefly. El then turned the page, revealing a picture of a woman in black and white, Seb reading the title again. "Daughter Jane and Son Jacob taken when they were babies, Ives claims." Seb spoke, El looking a the names. "Jane." She spoke, Seb nodding to her. "And Jacob. They ring nicely together." He spoke, El nodding mindlessly as she pulled out a photo. Seb's eyes widened when he saw Ives walking with Dr Brenner in the photo. "Papa." El whispered, Seb's eyes not going off of the picture before his sister got up suddenly.
"What're you doing?" Seb asked, following El as she got the radio off the bookshelf and a blindfold. Seb's eyes widened. She was going to try and contact Ives. "Oh, okay!" He spoke, sitting down next to his sister as she nodded, handing him the radio. Seb knew what to do as he normally set the radio or TV up for when El was going to do this, twisting the antenna and knobs until it went static, El waiting patiently. When the static started, El nodded to Seb after he passed it to her, setting it down and holding the photo. "Do you want me to tie it?" Seb asked, El nodding as Seb moved behind her, tying the blindfold around her head. "Done!" He spoke, El taking a deep breathe before focusing. Seb decided to help a bit by putting his hands on her shoulders and giving her some of his energy. The radio cut out for a while before El ripped the blindfold off, tears streaming down her face.
"Woah, hey!" Seb spoke, El crumbling into his arms and sobbing. "What happened?" He asked quickly, petting El's hair as blood streamed down her nose. "Mama." She spoke, pointing to the photo of Ives a Seb's face dropped.
Terry Ives was their mother.
All whilst Hopper was searching the tunnel Seb came through.
