EL PANTED AS SHE HID WITH MIKE AND MAX, EVERYONE HIDING FROM THE MIND FLAYER. The monster roared into the radio, cutting off Dustin as he repeatedly begged for their response. The Mind Flayer saw the small piece of itself that Seb had taken out of El's leg, leaning down towards it. Sniffing it, the Mind Flayer stepped on the small segment, the two merging one again. A red tendril fell in front of Max, El and Mike, El's eyes widening at it. Was her brother here? Did he come back? Max and Mike looked to one another, confused. The Mind Flayer roared, making everyone flinch lightly. "Griswold Family, do you copy?" Dustin begged again, Seb, Hopper and Joyce listening to Murray's conversation.
"We have a problem!" Dustin spoke, Seb quickly clicking on the radio he held. "What's the problem?" He asked, Hopper looking to him. The Mind Flayer continued to snarl as it walked away from El's hiding spot, Nancy watching it through the car mirror. Mike looked up over his hiding spot, seeing the monster's back. "It's turned away. If we go up the stairs now, we'll make it." Mike informed the two girls, Max shaking her head. "No way, not with El's leg." She objected, El still wondering why the red tendril was there. "We have to try." Mike spoke, El holding his shoulder. "There's another way... to get out." El told the two, looking behind her. "Through the Gap." She informed, Mike crouching to look again.
The Mind Flayer snarled, it's back still towards the three. "Okay. Now." Mike spoke, grabbing El's hand as the three ran quickly towards the Gap. El accidentally knocked over a coat hanger, the object making noise against the broken glass. This alerted the Mind Flayer, the three teenagers hearing it's ear piercing roar. The creature quickly stomped towards the noise, letting out a tentacle to search the store. The tentacle saw a mannequin that wore the same shirt El did, quickly grabbing onto it. Roaring in the mannequin's face, the Mind Flayer threw it back into the store. The mannequin landed beside their hiding spot, the three teens terrified. "Bald Eagle has landed. Repeat. Bald Eagle has landed." Erica and Dustin looked to one another excitedly, Steve and Robin travelling towards the mall to help the others.
Robin tagged along with Steve because she wasn't going to let this monster kill anyone else she loved. It had already gotten her sister, creating an instant rage hatred for the fleshy monster. It wasn't going to get anyone else,
Not on her watch.
"Come on, how much longer?" Hopper asked Murray, Seb pacing the room after he had been told. His sister was in danger. Had she recharged in time? Was she alright? "I don't know, I've never done this before!" Murray's voice raised as he spoke, Seb covering his face. "Get ready, lovebirds, including the mind mover, you're almost up to bat." Johnathan looked up from his hiding spot, seeing the Mind Flayer crowding at the Gap. Another tentacle searched through the store, stabbing through anything that was in it's way. The three teens had moved their hiding spot into a place the monster had already searched.

THE RUSSIANS ALL FLINCHED WHEN THE MACHINE STARTED TO BREAK A LITTLE, MULTIPLE COMPUTERS FLASHING RED. The machine powered down before a man pressed the alarm to fix it, Hopper, Seb and Joyce looking up to it. Seb sped first, the two adults following as the teen hurriedly pressed his stolen keycard to the door, opening it. Lucas had led the Mind Flayer to a balloon with his sling shot, everyone running away whilst the three waited for the area to be clear. "We can go now." Hopper spoke, holding Seb's uniform gently as the three ran. Seb kept his head down as his face was still beaten up, his powers simmering down. He was slowly coming back into control. Leading the adults up the stairs, they came face to face with another Russian.
"Did Mikhail send for you?" He asked quickly, before seeing Seb's face. Hopper and Joyce just nodded and smiled, taking Murray's advice before the Russian started fiddling for his radio. Joyce yelped when Seb suddenly punched the guy in the face, Hopper wincing. The man stumbled back, holding his nose as Seb stepped forward, grabbing his radio and melting it with his hand before flicking his head sideways. Joyce covered her eyes as a sickening crack was heard, the Russian following Seb's action and breaking his own neck. "Jesus Christ." Hopper uttered, the Russian falling down dead as Seb turned to them. "He saw me." The teen spoke simply, Joyce shuddering and moving quickly past the dead body to the door. Opening it, the three looked to see a corridor with a coded vault at the end.
Getting to the vault, Seb stood straight as the two adults focused on the code. "Give me the code." Hopper asked quickly, Joyce fumbling with papers. "Six-six-two, six-oh-eight, oh-oh-four." Joyce read out, Hopper trying to open it but failing. Seb looked to it, confused. "Uh... again?" Hopper suggested, typing in the code that Joyce repeated. A red light flashed, Seb moving to see over Hopper's shoulder. "Murray?" Hopper asked the radio, slowly getting more agitated. "Your goddamn code... is wrong." Hopper spoke, Murray confused. "What? Are you sure?" Murray's voice asked, Seb making eye contact with Hopper. "Yeah, I'm sure." He spoke simply, Murray shrugging. "Well, I- I suppose it could be wrong." Murray spoke, Seb's eyes widening a little. "How could it be wrong?" Hopper's voice raised, scanning the paper that Joyce held.
"The code is a number, a famous number. Planck's constant I thought- I knew it." Murray spoke quickly, Seb confused. "What's Planck's constant?" He asked, Dustin and Erica confused. Murray and Hopper continued arguing, Seb sighing. "You know it?" Erica asked Dustin, him shaking his head. "Not by heart. You?" He asked, Erica scoffing. "I'm not a nerd, nerd." She shot back. "He told me it was Planck's constant, which I know." Murray spoke as Seb shrugged. "Why would I need him to give me a number I already know?" Seb slid down the wall, Erica confused as to why Dustin started changing the channel on the Cerebro. "What are you doing?!" She asked, Dustin ignoring her. "Suzie, do you copy?" Dustin asked, Erica very confused.
Dustin repeated himself, hearing a girl's voice. "I copy!" She spoke, Dustin shuffling. "Suzie!" He let out, the girl sounding just as excited. "Dusty-bun?" She asked, Erica looking to Dustin slowly. "Dusty-Bun?" She asked the boy, Dustin ignoring her again. "Where have you been?" Suzie asked, Dustin sighing. "I'm so, so sorry. I-I've been really busy... uh, trying to save the world from Russians and monsters." Dustin spoke, smiling once he heard Suzie's giggle. "Of course you have." She teased, Erica gagging. "Just get the goddamn number already!" She urged, Suzie hearing her. "Who was that?" She asked quickly, her playful tone vanishing. "It was..." Dustin stammered, Erica watching him judgingly. "I don't know, actually. I think it was just some interference." He made up, Erica letting out a slow sigh.
"Why don't we, uh, change frequency to 14.158?" Dustin asked, Suzie nodding. "Copy that. Shifting frequency. Standby." Suzie spoke, crackling heard as the Mind Flayer chased the car all the teens were in. Steve and Robin had quickly climbed into the back, the latter not being able to take her eyes off of the Flayer. "Dusty-bun, you copy?" The radio spoke, Steve and Robin looking to it. "I copy, Suzie-poo. It sounds much better now, thanks." Dustin spoke, everyone except Johnathan looking back to the radio. "Suzie." Steve and Robin chorused, Seb's eyes widening at the girl's voice. "Okay, so, listen, do you know Planck's constant?" Dustin asked, Suzie humming. "Do you know the Earth orbits the sun?" She asked back sarcastically, Dustin snickering.
"Okay, so I know it starts with two sixes, and then a... what is it?" Dustin asked, Seb holding the radio between the three. "Okay, let me just be clear on this. I haven't heard from you in a week, and now you want a mathematical equation that you should know so you can... save the world?" Suzie asked, Seb staring at the floor. That's exactly what it was. "Yes, please." He spoke into the radio, Robin perking up at his voice. "Uh... who is that?" Suzie asked, Dustin gulping. "It's my friend, Sebastian. The one I told you about." Dustin spoke, Seb humming. "Oh... hi." Suzie spoke shyly, Seb smiling. "Hello-" "We don't have time for this. Suzie-poo , I swear I'll make it up to you as soon as I can." Dustin spoke, Suzie shrugging. "You can make it up to me now." She demanded, Dustin suddenly nervous.
"What?" He asked quickly, Seb tilting his head. "I want to hear it." Suzie spoke, Dustin shaking his head out of embarrassment. "Not right now." Dustin spoke, as he was sharing the radio with everybody else. "Yes, now, Dusty-bun." Suzie shot back, Dustin heavily embarrassed. "Suzie-poo, this is urgent." Dustin reminded, Suzie getting irritated. "Yes, yes, you're saving the world, I heard you the first time, but Ged is also saving Earthsea and he's about to confront the shadow, so this is Suzie, signing off." Suzie spoke, Seb awkwardly listening. "Wait, wait, wait, okay!" Dustin spoke quickly, everyone confused. "Shit." Dustin spoke, Erica confused. "Turn around," Dustin started to sing, Erica wincing as Seb flinched back. "Look at what you see," The boy sung, shuffling away from Erica shyly.
"In her face," Dustin sung quietly, everyone listening quietly. "The mirror of your dreams," Steve and Robin grinned, "Make believe I'm everywhere. Given in the light," The couple sang together, Seb frozen in spot. What was going on?... "Written on the pages is, the answer to our never-ending story, " The two vocalized together, Hopper walking away fed up. Joyce leant against the wall, tired. Murray stopped what he was doing to listen, the young couple singing. The group in the car sat quietly, staring at the radio in Robin's hand. "Reach the stars, Fly a fantasy, And see what you will be. Rhymes that keep their secrets will Unfold behind the clouds," Seb held his forehead, Erica staring at Dustin. She was speechless. What has she become friends with...
"And there upon a rainbow is, the answer to our never-ending story," Seb sighed once the chorus came again, Hopper gulping his shouts down. "Story," Suzie really sung her part, Seb nodding slowly as the couple's vocalizing came to a stop. Dustin chuckled, Suzie giggling. "What's the constant?" Seb asked quickly, Will perking up at his voice. "Planck's constant is 6.62607004." Suzie spoke quickly, Seb typing it into the vault. A green light beeped, Seb turning to Hopper with a grin as he rushed past the teen to the vault. "Signing out for now, lovely to meet you, Suzie." Seb spoke, Lucas smiling. "You just saved the world." Dustin laughed relievedly, Suzie nodding. "As it was to meet you, Sebastian. Gosh, I missed you, Dusty-bun." Suzie spoke, Seb shivering at the shameless PDA. Well, Suzie didn't know that everyone was listening anyway.
"And I miss you more, Suzie-poo." Dustin smiled, Suzie smiling. "I miss you more, multiplied by all the stars in our galaxy." Suzie challenged, Dustin grinning. "No, I miss you mo-" "Enough!" Erica snapped, changing frequency as Suzie looked to her radio confused. The Mind Flayer turned around, Johnathan doing the same as they followed the monster. El, Mike and Max limped down a corridor quickly, lights flashing. Seb had found the way to the control room they had seen the machine in, Hopper barging in first. "Everybody out!" He yelled, shooting his gun at the ceiling. Scientists looked to Seb as they left, terrified of the boy. Joyce stood next to Seb as they both stared at the machine, the latter feeling rage fill his system. This machine had aided in ruining his summer. Ruining his life. The gate was the cause of all of this.
And the machine was opening it.
"Hey," Hopper started, Seb looking back as did Joyce. The man held up the briefcase he took from the vault. "You ready to end this?" Hopper asked, Seb scoffing.
"Of course."
