Being in your hometown felt odd, being in your childhood bedroom felt odder fragments of past memories trapped inside the four walls of what you called your bedroom, memories you didn't want to recall.
You slid your hand across your bed, a sadden smile on your face as you took in your room. Nothing had changed.
Expect you, you've changed.
You heard your mother yell for you, bringing you back to the land of living, you stopped looking around and went downstairs towards your mother.
"Yeah mom?" You asked, anxiety building up inside in your gut as you got closer to the front door.
"Someone's here for you." She said, a sweet smiled plastered on her face as looked towards you and moved to make way for you.
Figuring out quickly that your mom was in one of her good moods just by her tone and smile, lucky you.
"Who?" You were confused on who it was, you've just gotten home and no one knew you were coming back expect your parents.
You walked forward, and rose your brows in shock taking in the view of your ex boyfriend.
"Sai..?" You knitted your brows together, blinking like an owl towards him. Your mother had left the two of you alone giving you some privacy.
"(Y/N), hey it's been awhile...h-how are you?" He ran a hand through his brown curls his lips curled into a smile standing awkwardly at the front door.
"Oh..oh! Uhm i've been well, how about you?"
"I've been great! I missed you actually.. You never picked up any of my calls or replied to my texts.." He awkwardly pointed out, scratching the back of his neck while leaning against the door frame.
You gulped, "that's because i got a new phone."
He nodded. "Oh! Of course, silly me." He chuckled, "How does going out for a coffee sound? to catch up and stuff." He suggested, hopefully.
"I'll think about it." You said while smiling and closed the door in his face, you didn't want to deal with him right now, or ever.
"Oh he left that fast?" Your mother questioned from the kitchen, wiping her hands on her apron as she smiled sweetly at you.
"Mom, what did i tell you about opening the door to him?" You crossed your arms, walking closer towards your mom.
"Sorry honeybean!" She says, way to sweetly for your liking, the way her eyes crinkled up as she smiled towards you. "What did he want anyway?"
"To catch up over coffee." You told her, sitting on the counter while your mother continued to make her pie.
"Oh, that's sweet! Are you gonna go?" She asks, humming a song. You smiled softly, happy that your mom wasn't in a bad mood like she always was.
You furrowed your brows as her question registered inside your mind, "Fuck no."
Your mother chuckled softly, "Why not? He seems genuine, he always came over when you were away."
"He came over?" You questioned, "why didn't you tell me before?"
"It must've slipped my mind." She shrugged, putting the pie in the oven.
"So?" She says, rising her brows and smirking.
"So what?"
"Are you gonna go?" She sighs, softly looking at you.
You stared at her, frowning. "I don't know, probably not."
"Aw, come on it'll be fun!"
"Fine," you say, giving in too quickly. You were curious about him, you couldn't deny that.
"Good! Now go upstairs i have a feeling your dad will be home soon." She said, her mood changing immediately at the thought of your father.
"No, mom i'm staying here." Your mother's face changed into one of anger, "(Y/N), Go to your room." She spat through gritted teeth.
"What? No." You knitted your brows, already preparing for the worst.
"Go to your fucking room you spoiled little brat." She yelled, aggressively pulling you down from the counter. Your ankle cracked in a awful way as you let out a small yell.
"Now!" She yelled, pushing you to your feet as she pushed you out of the kitchen anger radiating off her.
"Fucking brat." She whispered underneath her breath, glaring towards you.
She watched you walk away from her, you glanced at her one last time, fighting the urge not to cry or lash out in anger at her.
You knew it wasn't her fault for the way she was, you had your dad to blame for that but it didn't mean it didn't hurt any less.
You arrived in your room, wiping away the stray tears that had fallen against your wishes.
Your leg was hurting badly and you wondered if you'd broken it or maybe if you were lucky, just sprained it.
"Why is it always this fucking foot?" You mumbled, recalling the last time this happened was because of Yuta, your heart fluttered at the thought of him and your hand instantly went to clutch the necklace that was on your neck.
It hadn't even been a day and you longed to be back at college, you already missed your friends, already dreading the upcoming summer.
They all left texts but you couldn't quite get the courage or motivation to check any of them.
Gojo bombarded your phone with calls, he still hadn't given up seeing as the last ring was 5 minutes ago.
You chuckled, imagining Satoru pouting because you wouldn't answer him.
Pushing those thoughts away, you wondered if you should do anything to your swelling and bruising foot.
You snapped out of your thoughts as you heard yelling come from downstairs, your heart already starting to beat faster as you scurried to you feet.
You ran down the stairs, ignoring the jolt of pain that stung whenever you walked.
"Hey, what's going on?" You called out in the dark house, narrowing your eyes to see better, in the dark stood two dim shadows yelling at each other.
"Mom? Dad?" You say, walking closer towards them as the screaming finally stopped, "(Y/N)! You're back home?" Your father said, his tone was laced with venom and you could already tell he was drunk.
"Yeah.. i'm home."
"Come here..Co-come give y-your oold man a hug." He slurred on his words, pushing himself forward as he engulfed you in a unwanted hug.
He reeked of alcohol and you dreaded every second he held you in his arms, you pushed him away after five seconds, grimacing at the smell of beer.
"Go to bed dad. It's late." You tried to reason with him, smiling sadly at him.
"You don't tell me what to do!" He yelled through gritted teeth, pointing a finger in your face.
He walked past you, heading for the kitchen as he took another bottle of whiskey that was hidden in the cabinet, presuming the work of your mother.
You sighed, already knowing how this evening was going to be. You averted your gaze towards your mother instead, "mom have you taken your meds?"
She nodded, seeming distance from life itself.
Deep in thought maybe.
Once you heard the loud booming sound of sad music that your dad started to play you decided to leave and go for a walk.
How stupid you were, every step you took was painful, jolts of pain rushed inside your body with each step you took, you cursed yourself for forgetting about your injured leg.
You sat down on a bench, your foot had gotten even more bruised and it hurt without even walking.
You heard your phone ring, already knowing it was Gojo with his insistent calling.
You were surprised, it wasn't Satoru, it was actually Yuta.
Your lips curled in a smile, "Hey."
"(Y/N)! Finally you answered, Gojo's gone mad he thinks you died or something! Are you okay?" Yuta's worried voice was heard on the other line of the phone.
You snorted, "I'm fucking fantastic, tell Gojo to stop calling me every five minutes i'm perfectly fine."
Yuta paused, he could tell you were upset he wondered why, it has only been a day since you were back home and you were already in a bad mood?
"Yeah sure, i'll let him know."
"Thank you, anything else?" You hummed, the pain in your ankle becoming impossible to ignore.
"No..i uh.. Miss you?" He said, not sure himself how those words even managed to slip from his lips.
Your eyes opened in shock, a giggle escaped your mouth as you clutched your phone closer to your ear. "You miss me huh?" You say, trying to ignore the fluttering feelings in your stomach that bloomed with spring.
"Fuck! I shouldn't have said that.. Forgot i said that please!" He rambled, your giggles was like music to his ears.
"I miss you too." You say, already imagining the boy blushing on the other line of the phone, "you know i was thinking of you earlier.."
And you were right, the boy on the other line was flustered, "you were? Why?" He asks, his stomach fluttering with butterflies.
"I sprained my ankle again, made me think of the time i broke that door down for you and sprained my ankle, surprisingly getting high with you after wasn't bad either." You say, the smile never leaving your lips while you reminisced about two months ago.
He let out an adorable laugh that made your heart skip a few beats, "are you okay? Is your ankle okay? How did you even manage to do that." He asked, his tone was filled with worry and amusement as he bombarded you with questions.
"I fell down the stairs." You lied, "luckily i didn't break an arm or two." You didn't dare tell him the truth, you didn't want him to think less of you.
"Dummy.." He sighs, "be more careful next time, and get that ankle checked out i can tell it hurts you've been hissing in pain for the past 10 minutes."
You blinked like an owl, how the hell does someone even notice that while on the phone?
"What?" You mutter to no one in particular.
"What?" Yuta says, a hint of amusement in his tone.
"You are so weird Yuta Okkotsu." You chuckled, your attention averting towards Sai who was now jogging towards you.
"(Y/N) Babe! Hey!" He yelled, while being ten feet away from you.
Yuta heard that, he felt himself stiffen up at the sound of the unknown man calling you babe? He knitted his brows together, jealousy building up inside his core. He was definitely going to ask about this later.
"Fuck, gotta go bye." You quickly say and ended the call not even waiting to hear what Yuta had to say, you scowled and turned to look at the man who interrupted the call with Yuta.
"Don't call me babe, we're broken up remember?" You cross your arms, as the man sat down next to you.
"Lovely weather for an evening walk don't you agree?" He ignored your previous comment, deciding to make a conversation of his own while he glanced towards your injured ankle with amusement.
"No, not really." You scowled, turning your head away from Sai's stupid smug smirk.
"You know, it was rude of you to close the door in my face." He said, playing with a strand of your hair.
"Oh really? I hadn't noticed." You pushed his hand away, smiling towards him.
"Ouch..always one with a big attitude." He sighs, as if he was thinking about the past.
You didn't reply, and focused on trying to get up without limping in front of him and looking like an idiot.
"Let me walk you home." He got up as well, following you closely behind.
"That's fine, i think i'm familiar with the way." You sarcastically say, picking up your pace ignoring the way your foot ached in pain with every step you took.
You wished the ground would swallow you, as if this day couldn't get any worser.
