Riki sat gingerly on the edge of Heeseung's bed, his head spinning with dizziness and his stomach churning uneasily. The room swayed slightly around him, and he squeezed his eyes shut, willing the nausea to subside. He had ended up in Heeseung's room purely for the comfort of the soft sheets and plush pillows, not because of any deeper feelings he harbored for the older member of the group.
At least, that's what he told himself.
The sound of the bedroom door clicking open snapped Riki out of his reverie, and he looked up to see Heeseung entering the room, concern etched on his features. He was dressed in a sleek black turtleneck and casual blue denim jeans, a stark contrast to Riki's disheveled appearance. Was Heeseung planning to go out? The thought made Riki's heart sink further into his queasy stomach.
"Riki-ah..." Heeseung's voice was soft with empathy as he approached, enveloping Riki in a comforting hug and gently rubbing circles on his back. Riki's breath caught in his throat as a shiver ran down his spine at the warmth of Heeseung's touch. He swallowed hard, trying to ignore the fluttering in his chest.
"A-are you going out?" Riki managed to stammer, his voice barely above a whisper. Heeseung simply hummed in response, his expression pensive. "Yeah, I need to talk to our manager," he replied, his gaze lingering on Riki's flushed face. "Let's hope your fever dies down soon, Aegi..."
Riki's heart sank even further at the reminder of their upcoming concert, "Fate Tour." He desperately hoped that his fever would relent before showtime, not wanting to let down his fellow members or disappoint their fans. But as he watched Heeseung exit the room, a sinking feeling settled in the pit of his stomach, the weight of uncertainty pressing down on him like a leaden blanket.

Despite the members' best efforts to ensure Riki's well-being and prevent him from overexerting himself, fate seemed determined to test him on the day of the tour. As the hours passed, Riki's fever gradually subsided, much to the relief of everyone involved. However, just as they were beginning to breathe a sigh of relief, disaster struck once again.
On the morning of the tour, Riki's fever spiked to a staggering 40 degrees Celsius, leaving him weak and weary. Panic rippled through the group as they watched their youngest member struggle to stand, his normally vibrant energy drained by illness. There seemed to be no way he could perform in such a state, but the thought of letting down his fellow members and disappointing their fans weighed heavily on Riki's shoulders.
With little time to spare, the manager hastily administered medication to Riki in a desperate bid to alleviate his symptoms. Though the medication provided some relief, it was clear that Riki was far from his usual self as he stepped onto the stage, his movements sluggish and his expression drawn with pain.
As he stood under the glare of the stage lights, Riki felt a wave of dizziness wash over him, threatening to engulf him entirely. Just when he thought he couldn't bear it any longer, he heard Heeseung's voice calling out to him from the wings of the stage.
"Aegi?" Heeseung's voice cut through the haze of Riki's mind, filled with concern. Riki turned his head to the side, his gaze meeting Heeseung's worried eyes. "You okay? Are you still sick?" Heeseung asked softly, his hand reaching out to gently brush against Riki's clammy forehead.
Riki managed a weak nod, his throat parched and his head pounding with pain. "My head hurts like shit. But I'll be fine," he murmured hoarsely, his voice barely audible over the din of the crowd. Heeseung's brows furrowed in concern at Riki's choice of words, his lips forming a thin line of disapproval.
"Don't swear," Heeseung chided gently, his touch lingering on Riki's shoulder as he straightened the younger boy's clothing. Riki opened his mouth to protest, but Heeseung's reassuring smile silenced him, filling him with a sense of warmth and comfort amidst the chaos of the moment.

Riki's head throbbed relentlessly, each pulse sending sharp waves of pain coursing through his skull. Despite his best efforts to soldier on through the concert, the strain of performing with a high fever had taken its toll on his body. As the final notes of the last song faded into the air, Riki staggered off the stage, his legs trembling beneath him.
With a muttered curse under his breath, Riki stumbled forward, his vision swimming as he struggled to maintain his balance. He was grateful that his voice had held up surprisingly well during the performance, but now, as he tried to speak, his throat felt raw and parched, his words coming out as little more than a raspy whisper.
"Riki-ah?" Sunoo's voice cut through the haze of Riki's mind, drawing his attention. Riki blinked dazedly, his eyelids feeling impossibly heavy as he fought to stay upright. His legs threatened to give out beneath him, and before he could register what was happening, darkness closed in around him, swallowing him whole.
The next thing Riki knew, he was lying on the cold, hard ground, his body racked with pain. He felt a pair of strong arms wrap around him, lifting him up and cradling him close. Through the fog of his consciousness, he heard a familiar voice whispering softly in his ear.
"Just sleep, Aegi," Heeseung's voice murmured, the warmth of his breath sending a shiver down Riki's spine. Despite the agony coursing through his body, Riki found solace in the gentle embrace of his friend and bandmate. With a sigh of surrender, he allowed himself to succumb to the darkness, trusting Heeseung to guide him safely through the storm.
As Heeseung carried Riki's limp body to the medic, a rush of emotions flooded his mind. Seeing Riki in such a vulnerable state stirred something deep within him, something he couldn't quite put into words. He felt a fierce protectiveness welling up inside him, an overwhelming urge to shield Riki from harm and keep him safe at all costs.
But as he gazed down at Riki's pale face, illuminated by the faint glow of the hallway lights, Heeseung couldn't deny the strange pull he felt towards the younger member of their group. There was something about Rikiβhis infectious energy, his unwavering determination, his endearing vulnerabilityβthat tugged at Heeseung's heartstrings in a way he couldn't explain.
Maybe, just maybe, there was more to their relationship than mere friendship. Maybe the connection he felt with Riki ran deeper than he had ever realized. Maybe it was love.
The thought sent a shiver down Heeseung's spine, igniting a spark of hope within him. But as he laid Riki down on the medic's stretcher and watched anxiously as the medical team tended to him, Heeseung knew that now was not the time to dwell on his newfound feelings.
For now, all that mattered was Riki's well-being, his swift recovery, and the reassurance that he would be alright. And as Heeseung stood by Riki's side, his hand clasped tightly in his own, he vowed to do whatever it took to ensure that Riki emerged from this ordeal stronger than ever.
Because in that moment, Heeseung knew one thing for certainβwhatever this was between them, whatever it meant for their friendship and their future, he was willing to face it head-on, with courage, with conviction, and with an open heart.
As Riki slowly blinked his eyes open, the harsh fluorescent lights of the hospital room assaulting his senses. He squinted against the brightness, his head pounding with a dull ache as he struggled to make sense of his surroundings. His throat felt raw and parched, his voice hoarse and strained as he rasped out the words, "Where am I?"
The other members of Enhypen looked up in surprise, their concern evident in their eyes as they watched Riki slowly come to. Sunghoon was the first to react, rising from his seat and offering Riki a bottle of water, his hand gentle as he tousled Riki's hair affectionately.
Riki accepted the water gratefully, taking a few sips to soothe his dry throat before looking around the room in confusion. His lips were set in a slight pout, his expression a mix of bewilderment and discomfort as he tried to piece together what had happened.
It was then that Jungwon and Jake spoke up, their voices tinged with anger and frustration. "Who told you it was okay to perform with a 40Β° fever?" they demanded in unison, their words sharp with concern. It was clear that they were not mad at Riki, but rather at the situation that had led to his reckless decision.
Riki's heart sank at the sight of his friends' furrowed brows and clenched jaws, knowing that he had caused them undue worry and distress. He lowered his gaze guiltily, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment as he mumbled an apology under his breath.
"I'm sorry," he whispered hoarsely, his voice barely audible over the hum of the hospital machinery. "I just didn't want to let anyone down... I thought I could handle it."
"Your so dumb Riki-ah" Heeseung affectionately teased Riki, playing with his hair alongside Sunghoon, the rest of the members seized the opportunity to tease the youngest boy in return. It was payback for all the times Riki had teased them, and they relished in the chance to poke fun at him now.
"Looks like the tables have turned, huh?" Jake remarked with a grin, nudging Riki playfully.
"Yeah, you finally know what it feels like, Riki-ah," Sunoo chimed in with a chuckle, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
Riki just smiled sheepishly, taking the teasing in stride. Deep down, he appreciated the playful banterβit was a sign that things were slowly returning to normal, that he was safe and healthy once again.
But amidst the laughter and teasing, there was a palpable tension in the airβa silent acknowledgment of the unspoken bond between Riki and Heeseung. The way Heeseung interacted with Riki, the affectionate smiles and gentle touches, spoke volumes about the depth of their relationship.
The other members couldn't help but notice the special connection between Riki and Heeseung, and though they didn't say anything aloud, they couldn't deny the feeling that there was something more between them. It was a silent understanding, a shared knowledge that went unspoken but acknowledged nonetheless.
And as they sat together in the hospital room, the atmosphere filled with laughter and love.
As Riki and Heeseung navigated the complexities of their relationship, the rest of the Enhypen members watched on with unwavering support and affection. To them, Riki was more than just a talented performer and beloved member βhe was their cherished maknae, their baby, and their family.
No matter how much Riki tried to act older or assert his independence, the members always saw him as their adorable maknae, the youngest member of their tight-knit group. They couldn't help but dote on him, showering him with affection and attention at every opportunity.
When Riki was hurt or sick, the members rallied around him, their protective instincts kicking into overdrive. They would move mountains to ensure his well-being, sparing no expense to make sure their beloved maknae was safe and cared for.
And as they stood by Riki's side, supporting him through the ups and downs of life as an idol, the members of Enhypen knew one thing for certainβNishimura Riki was loved and cherished more than words could express. He was their precious maknae, their baby, and their family, and they would do anything to protect him and keep him safe.
